Tinashe Sambiri|The MDC Alliance Youth Assembly has vowed to fight for the release of human rights activist and party member Makomborero Haruzivishe who was jailed by the Zanu PF regime.

Below is the MDC Alliance Youth Assembly statement on the national council meeting held in Dema, Mashonaland East on Saturday…

MDC Alliance Youth Assembly Holds Successful National Council

The MDC Alliance Youth Assembly today held a very fruitful National Council meeting deep in Mashonaland East rural area of Dema.

A first of its own kind, the Assembly had to hold the meeting in a rural area set up as a symbol of commitment to go rural ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The Council resolved to escalate the fight against dictatorship by embarking on an intensified voter registration campaign with a deliberate tilt towards mobilization of the rural electorate.

All the Provincial Assemblies reiterated the youth position to make sure that the People’s President, Advocate Nelson Chamisa emerges victorious in the upcoming general elections.

In that regard, the Assembly agreed that they will by any means necessary put an end to the anti people regime of ZANU PF fronted by Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The Council also noted with concern the nervous conditions of the Assembly’s Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Makomborero Haruzivishe whose life is in danger at Harare Remand Prison.

In that regard the Assembly resolved to fight tooth and nail to make sure that Cde Mako is safely released from prison. Mako’s freedom is our number one priority!
