Hotplate GrillHouse has been in existence across the country for years, and their Samora Machel branch has been donated to Angel of Hope Foundation triggering an explosion of public complaints with many influential Zimbabweans saying they will now boycot the outlet due to its association with the First Family responsible for the death of thousands of Zimbabweans since 1983.
The state owned, ZBC reported saying:
Today, His Excellency President Cde ED Mnangagwa officially opened a Hotplate Grill House along Samora Machel Avenue. This outlet has been donated to First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa’s Angel of Hope Foundation. The empowerment initiative targeting the girl child will see twenty beneficiaries being employed at the facility. The business confidence in Zimbabwe is high as more companies are opening new outlets across the nation. As such Innscor announced opening of 92 new branches. This means more employment and more opportunities for businesses people in the nation.
To this, many Zimbabweans announced their outrage and below were some of the outbursts:
