Can one person save our planet from ecological disaster? My answer is absurd. Of course, it is almost impossible to achieve something alone, but if each of us changes our attitude toward the environment, we can accomplish the impossible.

The reason for all environmental problems is people’s irrational and irresponsible behavior. Therefore, changing people’s attitudes toward nature is the key to solving many problems. Today, in many countries of the Western world we can observe the tendency of ecologization of the population, i.e. people change their habits and preferences for the benefit of the environment and nature preservation. This article gives some basic steps for those who are ready to take a new look at environmental problems and are genuinely interested in solving them. For example, saving electricity in the name of ecology, you can play teen patti sites not from your computer but from your phone. Let’s talk about these kinds of tips and tricks below.

What is environmental awareness?

Environmental awareness, or eco-consciousness, is a multi-component concept. It manifests itself in many different ways: it includes sorting waste, living a Zero Waste lifestyle, reducing waste to the minimum possible, avoiding unnecessary, often impulsive purchases, choosing alternative energy sources, and much more. At the heart of it all is, above all, caring for the environment. And it is always the default focus.

In other words, the eco-conscious person runs every decision through their particular rules and requirements, understanding how it will affect nature. So if you start, it is not so difficult, and then it becomes a habit.

How to become an eco-conscious person

Just start. And do it gradually so that the stress of a sudden lifestyle change will be minimal, and you won’t want to return to the way things were.

Start small. For example, buy products strictly according to a list, not everything – and then put them in the trash. Give up plastic bags. For organic waste, you can make a compost pit on the property. Finally, start to sort your garbage.

An even more global aspect of eco-conscientious life deals with the transition to alternative energy sources: solar or wind. It is already a significant financial investment. Of course, such a step requires preparation and specific conditions. But even small steps in the right direction will give excellent results.

There are five basic rules to follow

  • Conserve Energy. And here it’s simple: turn off the lights when you don’t need them. There’s an instant bonus here – you’ll have to pay less for utilities. You can replace all the bulbs in the house LED. Emphasize – not fluorescent: they contain mercury vapor. Nature would not like that. And they are difficult to dispose of. When buying, choose energy-saving household appliances. It is also a good idea to put a dishwasher if you do not have one. It will allow you to save more water. For the same purpose, it is advised to take a shower instead of a bath and to install economical shower heads. And motion sensors in the rooms will not allow you to bother with turning on and off the light. In general, the list could go almost to infinity. Daily savings of resources by each of us is a massive step towards a “healthy” planet.
  • Save Water. Water is the source of life on earth and requires special treatment. Try to save water whenever possible, and don’t let water get contaminated by household runoff. Teach your children to turn off the water tap, collect rainwater for irrigation, and avoid throwing garbage into rivers (if you live nearby) and irrigation canals. Large and small rivers originate from the territory of GBAO and flow to several Central Asian countries. So residents of the upper Pyandj/Amu Darya have a great responsibility to keep the river clean.
  • Do not throw garbage around. Garbage is one of the leading causes of environmental pollution in cities and rural areas. Large amounts of domestic and industrial trash are thrown away daily. Always try to throw trash only in particular garbage cans, and teach your children to do so. If everyone treats nature responsibly and manages their waste, it will noticeably improve the problem with garbage. But it is also the responsibility of local authorities to ensure the collection and disposal of trash.
  • Give up disposable things. It is what all followers of the Zero Waste movement do, bringing us closer to zero-waste consumption. The main rule is that the less waste, the better. Even by not buying coffee in a paper cup with a plastic lid every time, by giving the barista your thermal mug, or throwing in your bag a reusable water bottle instead of a plastic disposable one, you make the planet cleaner safer.

Try to buy fewer things.

The habit of shopping and buying different products harms the environment. Most unnecessary things end up in a landfill, and some of them, for example, shoes and cosmetics, are tough to recycle. When buying a new something, ask yourself if you need it. If you can’t refuse to update your closet, try to give your old clothes to “second-hand” stores or particular collection points for reusing and recycling things.

Choose eco products.

Suppose you look closely at the products in the store, on many packages. In that case, you will see an “eco” sign indicating the environmental nature of the products and the manufacturer’s attitude towards nature. This sign indicates that only natural products were used for the production, or the packaging is made from recycled material or biodegradable material. By giving preference to eco-products, you support the producers of eco-products and contribute to the preservation of nature.

Choose a bicycle instead of a car.

It is far from a secret that road transport is one of the primary sources of air pollution from various exhaust gases. Therefore, choosing a bicycle or public transportation over a private car significantly contributes to preserving clean air. Today, in many European cities, you can see the trend of bicycle transport, which improves the air quality daily. By choosing to ride a bicycle, you are saving the environment and your budget and having a positive impact on your health.

Environmental Education.

Last but not least, there is environmental education, which plays a vital role in the formation of ecological culture. Unfortunately, most people worldwide do not have access to environmental information and allow a negative impact on nature without realizing it. Accordingly, the more people access ecological education and information; the less pressure will be on our natural environment. Therefore, updating your ecology and environmental protection knowledge is essential, and always be aware of the latest news and trends.
