Ayanda Kwenda of Entumbane suburb, Bulawayo, was attacked with an iron bar and stripped of his T-shirt in a violent robbery. After the assault, Kwenda fled to the Entumbane Police Station seeking help.

Police officers at the station were taken aback when Kwenda burst into the office without his shirt. “He told the officers that while he was walking past shops near a location known as C-Turn in Entumbane, he was confronted by four robbers armed with an iron bar and an axe,” a police source revealed. The robbers attacked him, stole US$82 and his cell phone, and then took his T-shirt.

An ambulance was summoned, and Kwenda was transported to Mpilo Central Hospital for medical care. Bulawayo Police Spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident, emphasizing, “We would like to discourage community members from walking alone during the night because that is when criminals will be carrying out their criminal activities.”
