Liquor Board Engages Passengers Association of Zimbabwe (PAZ) on Bottlestores at Bus Termini

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | Harare, Zimbabwe — In a move aimed at addressing public safety concerns, the Liquor Board has officially engaged the Passengers Association of Zimbabwe (PAZ) over the contentious issue of licensing bottlestores at bus termini. This comes after PAZ raised concerns regarding the impact of alcohol sales at these busy public areas on passenger welfare and safety.

The engagement, which took place earlier today, involved a panel of board members and the Liquor Board’s secretariat. During the discussions, PAZ presented the challenges posed by bottlestores operating near bus stops, emphasizing the risks to both passengers and the general public.

In a statement, PAZ expressed optimism, describing the meeting as a “step in the right direction” towards addressing these pressing safety issues. The Association remains hopeful that the collaboration will lead to meaningful changes aimed at safeguarding the well-being of travelers across the country.

Further updates on the progress of these talks are expected in the coming weeks.
