Real Madrid returns to action this Saturday, facing Celta Vigo at Balaidos Stadium, aiming to close the gap at the top of the table. After a strong performance against Villarreal before the international break, the team suffered a setback with the loss of Dani Carvajal due to an ACL injury.
Despite this challenge, manager Carlo Ancelotti has welcomed back key players including Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao, and Vinicius Jr., who have overcome their fitness issues.
In a press conference ahead of the match, Ancelotti addressed the injury situation and the ongoing speculation surrounding Kylian Mbappe’s recent trip to Sweden.
On Carvajal’s absence, Ancelotti expressed his disappointment: “We’re very sorry for Dani; he’s a vital player. We may lose him on the field, but he will remain a leader in the dressing room, and we will leverage his strength and mentality.”
Discussing the team’s morale following the break, he noted, “We’ve trained well, and many players have improved their fitness. The internationals are back in top form, and I feel a strong motivation among the players for tomorrow’s game against a quality opponent.”
With Carvajal’s injury fueling speculation about potential January signings, Ancelotti clarified, “I haven’t requested any signings from the club.”
