Historical Context and Presidential Endorsement
Reflecting on Zimbabwe’s history, Wutawunashe highlighted the sacrifices made by leaders like President Mnangagwa during the liberation struggle. He recounted Mnangagwa’s narrow escape from a death sentence at a young age and his continued dedication to the nation’s freedom and development. Condemnation of March 31 Protests
Addressing the upcoming demonstrations scheduled for March 31, Wutawunashe expressed strong disapproval, labeling the intent to protest as influenced by a destructive spirit akin to that which led to the crucifixion of benefactors in past generations. He questioned the rationale behind targeting President Mnangagwa, a leader who has dedicated his life to the nation’s liberation and progress, and cautioned against actions that could destabilize the country.
Call for Peace and Prayer
The Apostle urged citizens to seek wisdom and unity, emphasizing the importance of supporting the current leadership to complete their developmental agenda. He called for prayers to protect the nation from divisive forces and to ensure that peace prevails in Zimbabwe’s streets.
Biblical Invocation for National Harmony
Drawing from Psalm 144, Wutawunashe led prayers for divine intervention to maintain peace and prosperity in Zimbabwe. He invoked blessings for the nation’s leaders, seeking guidance and protection against forces that threaten national unity. The Apostle emphasized that true happiness and progress come from aligning with God’s will and supporting leaders ordained to fulfill His purpose.
Wutawunashe emphasized the importance of unity and support for Emmerson Mnangagwa, urging “I want you to have faith for the nation… also have faith with the Prophet… for Zimbabwe.”
He cautioned against participating in the planned March 31 protests, suggesting that such actions are influenced by a destructive spirit: “That’s the same demon of the 31st of March, demonstrating. Say, ‘Let’s demonstrate. We are going to aim on one person.’”
Wutawunashe highlighted President Mnangagwa’s historical contributions to Zimbabwe, including his role in the liberation struggle and his commitment to national development through initiatives like Vision 2030. He called for prayers to protect the nation from divisive forces and to ensure peace prevails in Zimbabwe’s streets, invoking Psalm 144: “Blessed be the Lord my strength… that there be no complaining in our streets.”
