Jane Mlambo| Deputy Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet, George Charamba has exposed how government continues to spend big on foreign medical trips after announcing that the ailing Vice President Constantino Chiwenga and his celebrity wife Mary had gone to South Africa with Deputy Minister of Health and Child Care, John Mangwiro.

“Equally, I also spoke to them this morning (yesterday) and besides they went with Dr John Mangwiro who is the Health and Child Care Deputy Minister just to ensure that there is a Government medical official in attendance. Both General Chiwenga and Amai Chiwenga are in good health,” said Charamba in an interview with the state media.

This has been the situation with the former President Mr Robert Mugabe who often flew with a big delegation on his trips to Singapore and it seems the Emmerson Mnangagwa administration has adopted the same policies.

Government officials are known for their love for foreign trips which rakes in a lot of money in allowances and it appears Mangwiro has had his first bite thanks to Chiwenga and wife.
