Gvnt Continues Muzzling Right To Information As Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp Remain “Closed”

By Own Correspondent| Following a government directive to suspend all internet services due to the civil disobedience by citizens over the escalating economic hardships triggered by the over 140 percent fuel increases, Econet has revealed that internet is now online but some of the social media platforms remain offline.

In a message circulated to subscribers Thursday morning, Econet said while there is now connectivity on the internet, government has maintained its directive for social media platforms including Facebook, Whatsapp, YouTube and Twitter to remain shut.

Said Econet:

“Dear valued customer , Please be advised that the internet is back online under a directive that Facebook ,YouTube , Whats App ,Twitter will remain closed until further notice. Any inconvenience is sincerely regretted.”
