By A Correspondent| Zimbabwean doctors in Nambia have joined hundreds of their counterparts in the country calling for the immediate return of abducted doctor Peter Magombeyi.
The doctors marched in solidarity with Dr Magombeyi who was reportedly abducted on the night of Saturday 14 September 2019 by unidentified assailants and is still missing.
He is the current acting president of the Zimbabwean Hospital Doctors Association (ZHDA) and he was leading the doctors ongoing strike demanding better living conditions.
Several calls for his return have been made since Sunday.
A march and prayer vigil was held in Harare on Monday, 16 September.
Today, doctors at Harare Hospital gathered outside the health facility to protest and demand the release of Magombeyi.
There have been several abductions of activists and politicians this year.
The government has however distanced itself from the abductions blaming the development on a third force that it claims is trying to soil government’s image.
Namibia is home to many doctors who fled Zimbabwe to seek better professional conditions in the diaspora.
