By Jamwanda| The Zanu-PF Politburo has just begun at the Party Headquarters and the President and First Secretary, Emmerson Mnangagwa is making his opening remarks.

He urged the Party to be more hands-on in supervising Govt, and to show discipline in all it does.

He hinted at Party mid-term review to allow the Party to reflect and introspect. Noting challenges of the year gone by, the President and First Secretary assured the Nation that Zimbabwe will be guaranteed food security in spite of the regional drought. Food distribution has to reach all reach all citizens regardless of political affiliation.

The President also noted the impact of the drought on livestock, hinting that a Livestock Saving and Recovery Programme will be announced soon. The fight against inflation and for sustainable mono-currency regime would be intensified in the year. He was very strident in urging all Party structures to abhor violence in the mining sector, calling those involved “malcontents”.

The President reiterated that Zimbabwe which turns 40 in April this year, will for the first time hold and observe the anniversary outside Harare.

The fight against corruption would be intensified, said the President, urging members of the Party to show leadership in that fight. He stressed all organs of the Party had to serve the Party, and to do so with discipline.
