Own Correspondent|Opposition Movement For Democratic Change, MDC, leader Nelson Chamisa on Thursday met with delegation of civil society leaders in Harare to discuss the state of the country’s political and economic situation.

The non governmental organisations under the auspices of the Crisis In Zimbabwe Coalition presented cluster updates to the MDC leader on the state of the country from human rights issues to service delivery and political issues.

Addressing the group, Chamisa reiterated his call that the MDC is ready for a dialogue anytime with ZANU PF provided an international mediator is found.

Chamisa said that he has no problems with former South African President Thabo Mbeki leading the negotiations.

“I have no problem with Thabo Mbeki meditating in the talks,” said Chamisa.

“The mediator has no problem at all, the issue lies with how the two of us to the negotiating table behave.”

Chamisa also dismissed the Political Parties Actors Dialogue, POLAD, claiming that it is just Mnangagwa’s choir of praise singers and time wasters.

“Dialogue is between two people who are failing to understand each other not to have a choir led by Mnangagwa being called a dialogue,” said Chamisa.

“MDC and ZANU PF are not understanding each other and so they are the two parties that must be in a dialogue not the rest. “

Chamisa told the civil society that they are not intending to negotiate for a unity government with ZANU PF but a transition arrangement which will lead the country to credible elections in 2023.

According to the Crisis In Zimbabwe Coalition spokesperson, Marvellous Kumalo, the civil society grouping will meet with all the political parties represented in the current parliament on the same discussion before coming up with a national roadmap of trying to solve the Zimbabwean Crisis.

Kumalo said they met with the MDC first because it was the first party to express its availability for the dialogue.
