By A Correspondent- Transform Zimbabwe opposition leader Jacob Ngarivhume has been denied bail over fears by the state that if he is released on bail, the July 31 protests will continue.

He was remanded in custody to August 6 2020.

Ngarivhume is being accused of organising and planning the July 31 mass protests against corruption.

He was charged with “incitement to participate in a gathering with intent to promote public violence, breaches of peace or bigotry.”

He said:

“We have just come out of court and Jacob Ngarivhume has been denied bail.

The state alleges that he has incited the nation to demonstrate against corruption has said he has been cited as the demonstrations against

It is a funny finding but that is what the court has told us.

The way forward for us is that we will obviously appeal against this strange ruling..

We will approach the High court for a reversal because we feel that this ruling is wrong not only at law but in logic and common sense.”
