By Mark Simuuwe | We expect the losing 2021 PF candidate Edgar Lungu to give us his solution to the problems Zambia is facing so as to persuade electorates , not the anger and lopsided propaganda we are getting from him .

The sequence of his discussions is difficult to follow .

We expect a debate of substance from someone calling himself former president, not the embarrassment we are seeing of proposing lawlessness and crying over lost power .

ECL , PF and all Opposition are still nursing wounds from 3 successive by-elections in which they came out bruised . They can’t see that even with the challenges of electricity triggered by the drought , citizens still can’t listen or trust them . Pa last ati let’s force ourselves. You will be arrested sir ! We have laws in Zambia.

Just use your mouth within the confines of freedom of expression not alternative methods you are proposing . It will end in tears .

Now that he has realized that citizens do not still trust him , he is even giving us more reasons as to why they voted him out . Exactly that arrogance of power and wanting to get into political office by force . In 2021 , he dared citizens that he was going to hand over power to himself whether Zambians wanted or not .

Today he is back with the same arrogance that “ like it or not , I will be on the ballot “. It does not work like that . Allow the court to do their job sir . Your attempts and debates on a matter that is in court also amount to subjudice . Under normal circumstances , you are supposed to be arrested.

It seems you don’t learn sir and it is becoming increasingly difficult to follow along your sequence of debates especially when you want to overlook lawful means of ascending to power.

Now listen sir , you better come with a sober debate , otherwise your anger to matters of law surrounding Concourt judges won’t change presidential powers provided under Article 144(3) .

Your argument as a lawyer must be premised on the law not desperation and bitterness .

If you have an interest in those judges , bring them back yourself so we see if you have such powers .

ECL is the same man who threatened to dissolve the whole judiciary during the hearing of his matter , on whether he could stand for the 3rd time or not.

He should not be hypocritical today and think we have forgotten his style of leadership. If judges are aggrieved , they will go to court . ECL is not one of them that he should be more angry than them .

What will happen if it is established that some of the judges are suspended on matters of corruption and those making noise are involved ? Will ECL accept to be an accomplice?

Those cheering lopsided tantrums ought to know that soon more details will come out and they will discover that some of those showing anger are actually the reason we are where we are.

ECL thinks by making himself go on rampage breaking the law by inciting civil disobedience or violence will earn him support . It does not work that way . Those are outdated politics sir . In this era , you get caged when you use unlawful means .

ECL must appreciate that even if many people believed he belonged to jail , he is still allowed to practice his democratic rights.

Let him remember that he is not immuned to prosecution in perpetuity .

Our old man is offside and seems to be failing to manage his political appetite and extreme anger . Well , if he goes in , all those who are cheering will scamper ! They will have to run for their lives for being accomplices .

I guess , he has dared his friend enough and one day he will get what he is looking for . He ruined this country by hate speech , and bloodshed , and people have died yet he is alive himself. He should not take the silence of relatives of those who have died under his watch for granted .

Further , ECL should not think he can pretend to have solutions to the problems he created . He has never produced any road-map to economic recovery and he has non. .

Aspiring for presidency doesn’t require breaking the law and setting the country into confusion. It requires a message of convincing voters , not undermining each other .

Let him just tell us his roadmap for economic recovery since he has never produced one from the time he joined politics.
