Liverpool FC has officially announced the signing of 17-year-old midfielder Trey Nyoni to his first professional contract. This milestone comes on the heels of Nyoni’s promising performances with the senior squad, where he has already made a significant impact.

Nyoni joined Liverpool from Leicester City in September 2023 and quickly made his mark with the U18s, scoring a late winner in a youth Merseyside derby on his home debut. His talent propelled him through the ranks, and he soon moved up to the U21s, showcasing his potential.

The England U18 international made his senior debut at just 16, coming off the bench during Liverpool’s 5-1 victory over Southampton in the fifth round of the Emirates FA Cup in February 2024. His development continued with a successful pre-season tour of the USA, where he scored against Sevilla in a friendly.

Nyoni has also taken on leadership responsibilities, captaining the Reds’ U19s in a UEFA Youth League clash against AC Milan. He is now a regular fixture for Barry Lewtas’ U21 squad and was recently named on the bench for the Champions League match against Bologna.

This contract marks an exciting new chapter for Nyoni.
