Pandemonium seized the Zim-cyberspace amid claims that First Lady Mrs Grace Mugabe has died.
A stream of continuous phone calls kept hitting the ZimEye.com newsline into the night Friday with people asking to know of the First Lady’s “fate.”
This came as a well known social media personality flashed forth an announcement that Mrs Mugabe has died. The faceless Facebook troll announced saying “ZIMBABWEAN First Lady Grace Mugabe has died. She was 49 years old…”
But the reports were dismissed by a top ZANU PF member who commented in the late hours saying: “There is no truth to that. Where did you hear it? She is well and fit.”
The highly placed official went on however to admit that Mrs Mugabe “was flown out Zimbabwe in an emergency operation ,” they said shortly before strictly requesting anonymity.
However politburo member and Grace-pal Oppah Muchinguri made official confirmation to the full Thursday saying that Mrs Mugabe truly did fly out of the country in order to get medical attention albeit as she played down the medical part as a mere “checkup.”
“There is nothing amiss or strange about the First Lady going out for a medical checkup,” Muchinguri told this reporter further confirming the development.

ITAI DZAMARA: Heavily Armed British Police Fire Warning at Zim Embassy
- Mugabe envoy flees into hiding.
- Ready to shoot British Terror Squad enter with bullet-loaded machine guns
- Release Dzamara now!
Robert Mugabe’s London offshoot office was humiliated by heavily armed British Police on Thursday when the embassy raised a false terror alarm causing a disturbing hoax scene in the latest of the Itai Dzamara abduction development.
Ready to shoot British Terror Police Squad ended up warning the under siege Zimbabwe Embassy not to ever again waste their weaponry, fuel and time in another false alarm, after Zimbabwean citizens besieged the embassy demanding the release of democracy activist Itai Dzamara.
A group of Zimbabweans among them ZAPU activists, and Zim Vigil members on Thursday morning stormed the embassy calling for the release of the activist and a return to the rule of law.
Speaking to ZimEye.com after William Chinyanga confirmed that, ‘Zimbabwe’s London ambassador today called anti- terrorist police, but at the end the police gave the embassy staff a warning that they must not raise false alarms.’
The police rapid response team accompanied by snipers reacted immediately on an assumption that the embassy was under terror attack. They came wielding MP5SFA3 semi-automatic carbines with an EOTech 512 holographic-sight attached.
After storming the embassy, the police however came face to face with peaceful protesting Zimbabweans. After establishing that the demonstration was a genuine protest, the cops fired back at the embassy staff telling them, ‘do not make false calls about terror’, and they demanded to see the ambassador who was nowhere to be seen having fled into hiding.
The Zimbabwean embassy in South Africa was also under siege and activities were disrupted.
Disruptions at Zimbabwe embassies around the world are expected to intensify and according to the activists they will close all embassies. The activists told ZimEye.com that the struggle is set to topple all embassies as Zimbabweans back home have little freedom to express their anger against the government.
Gold Dealer Butchers Own Friend To Death
A 36 year old man from Gwanda appeared at Bulawayo High court facing murder charges.
Bhekimpilo Moyo of Spitzkop North surburb who killed his drinking mate before robbing him of R450 was yesterday convicted by Justice Nokuthula Moyo of murder with actual intent, but pointed out that there were extenuating forces.
Moyo pleaded not guilty to the charge of murdering 40 year old Petros Sibanda.
Justice Moyo agreed with the defence counsel, Bruce Masamvu, that intoxication was an extenuating circumstance.
In her judgment, Justice Moyo rejected Moyo’s defence, saying it was a fabricated story and he had killed Sibanda and robbed him of his money because he was greedy.
“It’s the court’s finding that Moyo killed Sibanda and robbed him of his money so that he could not live to tell the tale. You were driven by greed and you are found guilty of murder with actual intent,” ruled Justice Moyo.
In passing sentence, Justice Moyo said it was the duty of the courts to uphold the sanctity of human life.
“Moyo killed Sibanda during the course of a robbery. He committed an abominable crime of killing a colleague who was buying him beer and indeed that shows ungratefulness on his part. A murder committed in the course of a robbery is conduct that can’t be accepted in our society,” she said.
“The sanctity of life should be emphasised through stiff sentences and you are accordingly sentenced to 35 years in jail”.
Prosecuting, Thompson Hove said on January 7, 2014, shortly after 8PM, Sibanda was drinking beer at Crystal Spirits Nightclub in Gwanda when Moyo joined him.
“As they were drinking beer, Meluleki Dube came and joined Moyo and Sibanda and the trio drank until early morning hours,” said Hove.
The court heard that at about 3AM, Sidingulwazi Ncube, a security guard manning the nightclub, ordered the three men to leave the drinking spot as they were closing.
After leaving the nightspot, the trio walked together towards Spitzkop bus terminus where Dube took a different route.
The court heard that Moyo and Sibanda continued walking together.
Along the way Moyo picked a stone and struck Sibanda twice on the head and he fell down and died instantly.
“Moyo then searched Sibanda’s pockets and fished out R450 and fled the scene,” said Hove.
Sibanda was found dead by the roadside after having been last seen leaving the nightclub with Moyo in the early hours of the morning. -chronicle
My Wife Prefers Bush Sex
State Media:A BULAWAYO man has been dragged to court by his wife for allegedly being sexually abusive. But in denying the allegations, Bhekimpilo Ngwenya, a vendor from Kingsdale suburb, said his wife Maria Njovo, prefers bush sex and this was the source of their problems.
He told magistrate Evelyn Mashavakure that when he refuses to go to the bush and sleeps with her in the house, she says he is abusing her. Njovo, who is also a vendor, was applying for a protection order saying she no longer wants to live with Ngwenya.
“Your Worship, I just don’t want be with him anymore. He harasses me whenever I meet him. He sleeps with me by force and doesn’t choose a place. He just sleeps with me wherever he feels like even in the bush,” Njovo said.
She added that Ngwenya mocks her about her HIV status and tells their child that she is going to die anytime soon.
“I was thinking of going back to him and fixing our marriage but he is harassing me. My child was also emotionally affected when she learnt about my status and she couldn’t concentrate on her studies,” Njovo said.
When the magistrate asked Ngwenya if he had a problem with the protection order being granted, he said it was going to protect him as well.
“The way she hates me now I think it’s best if it can be granted because If I get caught having sex with her in the bush, she will cry rape. I think this protection order will also protect me as well,” he said.
Ngwenya said he did not disclose Njovo’s status to their child but it was Njovo’s sisters who told the child.
“Your Worship, I and her sisters aren’t in good books. They’re the ones who told the child about her status. When I came to visit my child, one of the sisters chucked me out saying I’ve Aids and I infected Njovo. They said that in the presence of our daughter,” he said.
Magistrate Mashavakure granted Njovo the protection order and directed Ngwenya to stop being sexually abusive. Chronicle
ZANU PF Frog-Marches Voters In Mujuru’s Neighbourhood
ZANU PF officials in Mount Darwin are forcing people to vote for their Mount Darwin West House of Assembly candidate Barnwel Seremwe in a by election currently underway .
The Mount Darwin West parliamentary seat fell vacant after the ouster of former Vice President Joice Mujuru from government by ZANU PF in December.
People who spoke to ZimEye.com, Friday morning said a team of the known ZANU PF officials led by their party district chairperson, one Munyuki, visited every household telling people to go and vote for Seremwe.
“They were threatening us that if we do not go and vote for him (Seremwe) they were going to displace us. This was also happening in wards 17, 20 and 21 where some youths were force marching people to go to the polling stations and vote for Seremwe only,” said the villagers who requested not to be named for fear of victimization.
A rights lobby organization, Heal Zimbabwe Trust which has deployed its officials to monitor the by-elections also confirmed the reports of people being force marched by ZANU PF to the polling stations.
ZANU PF and the Lovemore Madhuku led National Constitutional Assembly party are contesting the by-election which has been boycotted by the MDC formations.
Grace Mugabe Attacked By Horror Rare Cancer
President Robert Mugabe’s wife Grace has been attacked by a rare type of stubborn cancer that has returned to torture her barely two (2) months after a major operation, ZimEye.com has been told.
Impeccable Mugabe family sources have confirmed that Mrs Mugabe had a troublesome cancer pierce through her vital organs at the intestines.
Colorectal cancer is an incurable malignant tumor which shoots out from its victim’s inner wall of the large intestine.
Her husband, Robert had claimed earlier six weeks ago that she has had an operation to remove an appendix.
He said this to explain her failure to return with him from their holiday in Singapore.
However relatives say the truth is that a long 31cm stretch of her colon (large intestine) was removed during the operation, but the same pains she has been previously enduring, suddenly returned in March.
To date the government has not said anything about Grace’s absence.
But her colleague(in booting out former Vice President Joice Mujuru) and Zanu-PF politburo member Oppah Muchinguri, has confirmed that she is truly out of the country seeking medical treatment.
“There is nothing amiss or strange about the First Lady going out for a medical checkup,” Muchinguri told this reporter further confirming the development.
It was not clear how Mrs Mugabe’s health is now as for today since Muchinguri sped from the scene before answering further questions.
Meanwhile there was much public talk about Grace’s son in law Simba Chikore who has also been out of the public eye. But of this three sources said it was all a publicity stance to stage manage Grace’s long absence.
Ecobank Profit Up 38%
Ecobank Zimbabwe reported a 38 percent growth before tax to $3,3 million for the full-year ended 31 December 2014 driven by growth in deposits.
The deposits grew by 33 percent to $111 million which enabled the company to grow its loan book.
“This enabled the bank to grow its loan book and drive a 20 percent rise in net interest income,” said the company in statement accompanying its results on Friday.
Loans and advances stood at $132 million from 95 million in the prior year.
“The 27 percent growth in fees and commissions was underpinned by the increase in arrangement fees earned on the growing loan book and facility fees on off-balance sheet trade finance structures made possible by the bank’s access to lines of credit within and outside the Ecobank Group,” said the bank.
The bank said it will invest in electronic channels by deploying more off-site ATMs and POS devices.
Bloodbath as Vendors Beat Each Up Over Corpse Water
Bulawayo- Business to a halt in Lobengula Street in yet another disgusting disclosure, as four Lobengula street fruit vendors hospitalised each other over corpse water that disappeared before sharing.
The Four, Dumisani Sibanda, Thabiso Tshuma, Melody Mloyi and Monica Mlilo, fought a vicious bloodbath of blows, after the latter accused one of them of stealing corpse water that was acquired by Thabiso from a Kelvin Industrial Funeral Parlour.
The development brings the total number of named-and-shamed corpse water crooks to nineteen (19) after fifteen (15) others were arrested in separate incidents last year.
The water according to other vendors who refused to be identified, is needed to create their business-charm, to attract clients, so they buy their fruits and vegetables. They sprinkle the water that would have been used by undertakers when bathing the deceased at their funeral parlours.
“If you buy corpse water sprinkled fruits, you automatically become a permanent consumer, as this will force your heart and mind to look for me,” said a vendor who was identified by others as Na-Nomsa, who plies her vending business in Bulawayo’s Lobengula Street.
ZimEye.com tried to convince Thabiso to comment on the cause of their fight, that brought business to a halt in Lobengula Street, but she became arrogant and threatened this journalist with assault by her bouncer boy-friend who works at a Bulawayo night club.
But Melody opened up and revealed their source of corpse water in anger. “We contributed $70 to buy corpse water from Mthandazo Funeral parlour, for business, but Monica and Thabiso opted to steal the magical water for their use, forgetting others who contributed,” she shouted on top of her voice.
Last year, 15 vendors were reprimanded for public fighting over the ware, and they were handed a final warning by their Association for the offense of using corpse water to lure clients.
ZimEye.com managed to get in touch with Mthandazo Funeral Parlour Manager in Kelvin, Mr Killian Nkomo, and he dismissed the allegations as malicious. “This is malicious and total fabrication. However, we will investigate the issue, with our undertakers, as this is not for the first time to hear such accusations from vendors and the public.”
But the Vendors and Informal traders Association National President, Edward Manning speaking to ZimEye.com confirmed the existence of the deals between vendors and funeral houses undertakers. “This has been happening, and we warned our members against using dirty charms on innocent and unsuspecting clients as this is a health hazard,” he said.
He added,
“The four fought over corpse water and we have issued them with a final warning, this time we are going to chase them away from Lobengula Street for their evil doings,” said Manning who appeared visibly angry.
CIOs Caught Robbing, Nearly Killed
There was drama when two Central Intelligence operatives and ex-soldiers, were caught in the act robbing a warehouse at Nembudziya Growth Point.
In a typical movie style operation, a security guard with Fawcett Security Company, based at the growth point shot and captured the two armed robbers, forcing them to surrender their guns and loot valued at more than $40 000.
They were driving a five tone truck when they met the end of their acts.
The security-man who cannot be named for his protection, had knocked off from duty, leaving his work-mate to takeover when the brutal pair descended on the shop they guard.
According to sources privy to the incident, the suspects are ex- service men, hence the need to protect the security of guards.
According to Nembudziya police sources who refused to be named for professional reasons, “these guys were just armed and were ready to go away with their loot from the whole warehouse, as they were driving a five tone truck, which they had loaded their treasure before they met their fate.
This guard who thwarted the robbery has done a wonderful job, and was just good enough to counter attack them by shooting their driver and a gunman on their legs, injuring them in the process,” said the officer before referring this journalist to their Head Office for official comment.
Another shop operator identified as Makechemu was also robbed at gun point recently by people suspected to be militarily trained, as he said they were brandishing AK rifles when they pounced on his business last week at Chireya business centre.
The Midlands police press and liaison office confirmed arresting the armed robbery suspects, but could not shed more light on the revelation that they are ex-servicemen, who served the Zimbabwe defence forces and the CIO.
The injured suspects who also cannot be named for fear of jeopardising investigations, are detained at Harare Hospital under heavy police guard, who are monitoring their recovery progress for them to appear in court anytime soon.
Econet’s Criminal Assault on Journalists
Econet Wireless’ actions in which they arm-twisted a High Court judge and by using that defective verdict, illegally raided the offices of The Source news agency all because of two accurate, impeccable stories, have been slammed. One of the stories is an explosive revelation on a dodgy loan deal with Harare businessman Phillip Chiyangwa.
On the issue of journalists revealing the sources, Section 61 (2) of the Constitution of Zimbabwean guarantees this:
Every person is entitled to freedom of the media, which freedom includes protection of the confidentiality of the journalists’ sources of information.
The background to the raid which now soils the company’s international image and that of its founder Strive Masiyiwa, is below outlined in a time-line report.
REPORT By TechZim:
Outline and summary of events:
2 February: The Source publishes an article titled “Debt-distressed Zimbabwe moves to reschedule domestic debt” in which it says the government has resorted to domestic borrowing and that Steward Bank, an Econet Wireless subsidiary holds US $30 million in government treasury bills, a deal brokered by Steward Bank former owner, Tawanda Nyambirai. Econet confirms to The Source that Steward Bank indeed holds government treasury bills and that Nyambirai was involved in structuring the deal. Today’s raid on The Source resulted in them complying to take down the article, but ZimEye.com herewith reproduces the article-CLICK HERE TO READ.
2 March: The Source breaks a story titled “Steward Bank seeks land to settle $2,1mln Chiyangwa loan” in which it says the bank is considering recovery of a loan issued to Phillip Chiyangwa‘s company during the TN days, by swapping with residential stands to the tune of $2,1 million.
16 March: Econet and Steward Bank obtain a High Court order to have the stories published by The Source withdrawn and conduct a search and seize operation at The Source.
20 March: The Source, challenges the High Court order granted to Econet Wireless and Steward Bank to have the online publication withdraw some of the stories it published on its site. It cites constitutional media freedoms violation.
26 March: Econet lawyers, Executives and IT people accompanied by The Sheriff and Police, raid The Source’s offices and succeed in having the stories taken down as well as going through the emails of the journalists. According to our sources, they copied emails and documents off these laptops.
The case that resulted in the order to search and seize is apparently that The Source stole documents, but if this were the case of The Source stealing by means of accessing the premises of Econet or Steward Bank, then the case would be about theft and not about taking stories down.
From what we observe from the facts in the media and industry, The Source simply had great sources who provided them information and that the constitution protects journalists from being forced to reveal all the information they have or to hand over their source.
The raid is about trying to find out what the journalists know and where they got the information. Obviously, we’re not constitutional experts and we can only comment based on how we understand it.
What is even more worrying is that by accessing the journalists’ laptops and copying documents, Econet and the police have accessed a lot of private information on many other stories and sources that do not concern them.
It’s important to note that Econet is not disputing the accuracy of the articles. They even commented in one of them. They clearly just don’t want this information in the public and apparently are infuriated that a publication was able to access the information.
We have reached out to both Econet Wireless and Steward Bank but we have not received any response yet.
Mujuru Refusing to Release Hubby’s Will, Lawyer Says
The Mujuru family lawyer Mr Thakor Kewada has revealed that the late General Solomon Mujuru’s widow, Dr Joice Mujuru, has his will, but is refusing to avail it to the court, a move that has led the High Court to appoint an independent executor of his estate, Mr Stern Mufara.
Mr Kewada said in a letter to the Master of High Court, Mr Eldard Mutasa, on Tuesday that Dr Mujuru once read the will to her daughters, but was clinging to it.
This was after the Mujuru family was given five days last week to produce the will at the court.
Mr Mufara is a renowned professional executor who operates from Nyika, Kanengoni and Partners Legal Practitioners in Harare.
Mr Mutasa, in a letter to Mr Kewada, said the family had delayed in registering Gen Mujuru’s estate and producing the Will, to the prejudice of potential beneficiaries and creditors, hence the need to appoint an executor to wind up the process.
“Mindful of the fact that it has taken almost four years without anyone producing the purported Will, if ever it does really exist, my office, on the background of your confirmation that you do not have a Will, but rather a trust deed, has to proceed as resolved at the aforementioned edict meeting,” he said.
“Further delays in winding up this estate will not only be prejudicial to potential beneficiaries, but also to potential creditors and the fiscus in the form of death duties.
“Accordingly, pursuant to the resolution made at the edict meeting, my office, by copy of this letter, hereby appoints Mr Stern Mufara of Messrs Nyika Kanengoni and Partners Legal Practitioners, 155 Samora Machel Avenue, Harare, to be the executor of the estate of the late Solomon T. Mujuru.”
Mr Mufara, according to Mr Mutasa’s letter, is expected to deal with all matters affecting the estate as required by law.
In a letter to Mr Mutasa dated March 24, 2015, Mr Kewada said he did not have the last will executed by the late Gen Mujuru, but he had a duplicate of the original copy of the Solomon Mujuru Family Trust in which 13 beneficiaries were listed.
Dr Mujuru and 12 children with birth certificates bearing the name of the late Gen Mujuru’s name as their father were listed in the document as beneficiaries.
The 12 are: Maidei Mujuru (born 01-05-74), Kumbirai Mujuru (02-08-78), Chipo Mujuru (21-08-79), Tendayi Mujuru (02-07-81), Nyasha Mujuru (24-07-84), Kuzivakwashe Mujuru (21-09-89), Takunda Arthur Mujuru (17-01-88), Tsitsi Mujuru (23-03-79), Bianca Mujuru (28-03-79), Naomi Mujuru (12-04-94), Ngonidzashe Mujuru (20-03-84) and Tawanda Mujuru (23-03-94).
Mr Kewada indicated that some years back, he drew a will for the late Gen Mujuru in which he was nominated as executor, but the will was kept at the late national hero’s Churchill Avenue offices.
He said efforts to get the will from Dr Mujuru were fruitless despite information that she even read it to her children after Gen Mujuru’s death.
“I have on at least two occasions before his death seen the said will at his office in Churchill Avenue, Harare,” said Mr Kewada.
“After the General’s death, I requested his widow, Dr Joice Mujuru, to let me have the original will to lodge with the Master’s office and have his estate formally registered.
“Dr Mujuru informed me that she was going through all the documents at the late General’s office and will let me have the will when she had located it.
“On a number of occasions over the past four years, I requested Dr Mujuru and/or her daughters to let me have the will.
“She said she was still going through the documents and had not located it.”
Mr Kewada said some two years ago, Dr Mujuru’s daughters told him the their mother had the will.
“About two years ago, the General’s daughter Nyasha told me Dr Mujuru had the will as she had gathered her four daughters together and read out the will at a will reading meeting,” he said.
“I requested Nyasha to inform her mother to let me have the will, but the will has to this day, never been delivered to me despite my several requests.”
Mr Kewada said on Friday last week, he communicated with Dr Mujuru over the edict meeting held on the same day and she indicated that she had the will.
“I advised Dr Mujuru that she and her four daughters should attend the edict meeting and she should let the Master of the High Court have the will of the late General,” he said.
“Dr Mujuru replied to my text message stating: ‘You took a copy and we were supposed to meet’. This presupposes Dr Mujuru has the will. I certainly did not take or get a copy of the signed will. If I had, I would have lodged the copy and registered the estate immediately. I informed Dr Mujuru of this.”
Mr Kewada said he told the Mujuru family members that if he was to be appointed the executor of the estate, he would cease to represent them while only attending to winding up the estate.

Army in Massive Recruitment Drive
THE Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) has embarked on a nationwide recruitment of officer cadets in a move meant to further strengthen the country’s defence forces.
Speaking on the sidelines of national tree planting day commemorations held in Bulawayo yesterday, 1 Infantry Brigade Acting Commander Colonel Mpulaeng Siziba said the national army had started accepting applications for officer cadets who would undergo an intensive 18 months military training programme.
“Applications are invited from qualified candidates to train as officer cadets. Upon completion of training, these candidates will be commissioned as lieutenants. We encourage youths from Matabeland to come and join the force on time. In the past we had cases where youths started applying when the deadline had elapsed. The deadline for recruitment is April, 5,” said Col Siziba.
A notice issued by the army said interested candidates should have a minimum of 5 “O” levels including Mathematics and English and a minimum of 6 points at A-Level in any subjects.
They should be between the ages of 18 and 22 for A Level certificate holders and up to 24 years old for diploma and degree holders. – State Media
Nigerian soldiers confine Al-Jazeera journalists to hotel
Abuja- Nigerian military authorities on Tuesday confined two Al-Jazeera journalists to their hotel room and have forbidden them from leaving, according to a statement published on Wednesday by the Nigerian Defense Headquarters and both journalists who spoke to CPJ. The journalists were covering a story on military activities in the area as part of Al-Jazeera’s broader election coverage, the broadcaster said.
“Nigerian authorities and the military should understand that the credibility of the election is dependent in large part on the media, both local and foreign, being allowed to report freely,” said Peter Nkanga, CPJ’s West Africa representative. “We call on the military to release Ahmed Idris and Mustafa Ali from their hotel, return their camera, and allow every journalist the freedom to document the electoral process before, during, and after the vote.”
Ahmed Idris, a correspondent for the Qatari-based broadcaster, told CPJ by phone Wednesday that on Tuesday morning soldiers told him and his colleague, Mustafa Ali, a cameraman, that they were under orders to forbid the two from leaving the hotel in the northeastern city of Maiduguri. Idris told CPJ that when he attempted to leave later on Tuesday, a soldier stopped him. The journalists, both Nigerian nationals, are staying at the Satus Hotel in Maiduguri, Borno state, where they have stayed before, the hotel manager told CPJ. The soldiers also confiscated the journalists’ camera, Idris said.
Idris told CPJ that foreign journalists visiting the area often stay at Satus Hotel, but he and Ali were the only journalists reporting for a foreign outlet who were there at the time. Several journalists, mostly local, have been reporting from Yobe, Borno, and other states in northeastern Nigeria, where military operations against the Islamist extremist group Boko Haram are ongoing, according to several journalists including Abba Karami, Borno state chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, who spoke to CPJ.
UK: Zim Soldier Accused Of Sexually Molesting Workmates
A Zimbabwean soldier in the British Army sexually assaulted two female colleagues, creeping into bed with one and licking her nipple as she slept, a court martial heard Wednesday.
Private Taaziva Mutekedza, 37, allegedly entered the woman’s room, took his jeans off and climbed into her single bed after a night out. The woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was naked and felt “angry” and ‘scared’ when she woke to find Mutekedza on top of her.
She pushed him away and told him to “get off’ but he then tried to calm her down by saying “it’s OK” and offered her a cigarette to help her relax, the court heard.
Bulford Military Court Centre in Wiltshire heard the alleged incident took place in October 2013 at the New Normandy Barracks in Aldershot, Hants, after Mutekedza had been drinking in the town until 2am.
Opening the case, Commander Caroline Kenyon, prosecuting, told the court Mutekedza denies two charges of sexual assault against two separate female soldiers.
On the other occasion, Mutekedza is accused of knocking on a woman’s door in the early hours of the morning, pulling her head towards him and asking her why she was not “going to give him a cuddle”.
Detailing the first alleged offence, Cdr Kenyon told the court: “In the early hours of the morning the woman returned alone to her room.
“She took her clothes off and fell asleep naked; she did not lock her door as she felt safe. She was sleeping in a single bed but she awoke to find the defendant on top of her wearing boxer shorts.
“The defendant was licking her right breast and was feeling her naked body with his hands. He said: ‘It’s fine’. “She challenged him but the defendant told her she returned to her room with him.
“She denied this and felt upset and scared. She told him to get out of her room and he eventually did.”
The woman, who was in her early twenties at the time, told the court she felt “shocked” and “angry”.
She said: “The night before the incident I went out into Aldershot for a few drinks and did not return until the early hours of the morning.
“Private Mutekedza was out but he was not out with us. I had had a lot to drink but I knew exactly what I was doing at the time and I arrived back at my room between 2 and 3am.
“I entered my room, shut my door and undressed down to nothing and was naked and I got into bed. I did not lock my door because I thought I was in a safe place.
“The lights were off and I went to sleep and I remember waking up with Private Mutekedza on top of me. He was wearing boxer shorts and socks. He was licking my right breast; he was using his tongue. He was feeling me with his hands; he was feeling my chest area.
“I was quite shocked to be honest. I pushed him off me and asked him what he was doing. He tried to say that he came back with me which I know he did not.
“He tried to calm me down, he tried to say ‘It’s OK’ and tried to get me to go out for a cigarette. I said it’s not OK and I was more concerned about getting him out of my room – I was angry.
“There was a pair of his jeans on my floor. I had to ask him to leave several times; he was in my room for five minutes.”
She reported the incident and was later interviewed by the service police. The defence suggest she invited Private Mutekedza back to her room to have a drink after sharing a taxi home from the Yates’s pub in Aldershot.
She says this is not true. Mutekedza is accused of sexually assaulting a second young female soldier in the early hours in January, 2014. Cdr Kenyon added: “A woman heard a knock on her door in New Normandy Barracks and the defendant was outside and appeared drunk.
“He said words of this affect ‘You know I really like you’. “He grabbed her hand and she tried to close the door but the defendant blocked her doorway and pulled his hand back when it was on the back of her head.
“The defendant said ‘why are you not going to give me a cuddle?’ “He tried to pull her head towards him and she told him to go away.
“He left and again said ‘you know I really like you’.” Private Mutekedza, of 22 Field Hospital, based at the New Normandy Barracks, denies two counts of sexual assault.
The Zimbabwe national was a combat medical technician at the time of the alleged first incident. The trial continues. – The Zimbabwean
Econet Uses Murderous CIO, Draconian Jonathan Moyo acts to Destroy Journalists
Dear Editor.
I do state with utmost concern the actions of this company Econet against journalists and in particular the CIO raid on the Reuters News agency, The Source today. Masiyiwa’s company is violating the constitution on freedom of expression and they must be slammed and damned for this evil.
Coincidently this is the same company who’s founding principles are democracy and freedom and their boss Masiyiwa publicly claims to worship God Almighty.
The same man was once raided by the CIO for over 5 years until vice president Joshua Nkomo intervened, but Father Zimbabwe should turn in his grave today seeing he quite likely raised a monster company.
Disappointed!

BREAKING NEWS: Grace In Coma, Flown to Dubai
SERIOUSLY ILL FIRST LADY Grace Mugabe fell into a coma and had to be flown to Dubai.
Mrs Mugabe is in Dubai receiving medical treatment as her health reportedly continues to deteriorate, although some sources have claimed she is in Singapore.
Sources said Mugabe’s Gushungo clan was now seeking spiritual intervention to save Grace and resolve other problems the First Family is facing.
Grace, who dominated Zimbabwe’s political scene late last year soon after being nominated to lead the Zanu PF women’s league, has not made a public appearance since March 8 when she officiated at International Women’s Day commemorations, fuelling speculation that she could be facing serious health problems.
In January, Grace was forced to remain in Singapore after the First Family’s annual holiday, as her husband President Robert Mugabe returned home alone.
Mugabe told Zanu PF supporters on arrival back home at the Harare International Airport that his wife had remained behind recuperating from a minor surgery to remove her appendix.
But our sister paper NewsDay has been reliably informed Grace is battling ill health and slipped out of the country a few days ago to seek further treatment in Dubai.
Mugabe has been globe-trotting without his wife.
In Japan, Mugabe’s daughter Bona Chikore was forced to fly from Dubai to sit by her father’s side during official meetings with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
Mugabe reportedly flew to Singapore to see his wife both on his way to Japan and on his way back, where he left Bona with her mother when he returned.
Mugabe’s elder son Robert Junior is based in Dubai, further spawning rumours that Grace may be in that country.
Grace has missed several local and regional meetings and functions, where her husband was a guest.
She has missed the Algerian trip where Mugabe presently is and the Namibian jaunt for the inauguration of new President Hage Geingob.
Sources said Mugabe was expected to fly to Asia to see Grace before returning home from Algeria, where he presently is on an official visit.
Grace failed to make it to Kutama College in Zvimba at the weekend for the school’s centenary celebrations, where her husband intimated that he was weary, having only slept two hours.
On Tuesday, acting President Phelekezela Mphoko had to stand in for the First Lady when he received about $1,5 million worth of clothes and food stuffs from a South Africa-based non-governmental organisation Givers Foundation at State House.
The donation was for about 3 500 flood victims in the Hurungwe constituency.
Givers Foundation donated nappies for children at Grace’s Mazowe orphanage home.
It could not be established what Grace was suffering from, but close sources said the First Lady was battling with cancer.
Presidential spokesperson Gorge Charamba was not picking calls to shed light on the whereabouts of Grace, who played a central role in the demolition of former Vice-President Joice Mujuru’s faction before the party’s December 2014 congress.
NewsDay is reliably informed that the Gushungo family, Mugabe’s clan, will from today hold a spiritual indaba in Marongowe Mountain in Zvimba to seek divine intervention on many issues, including Grace’s failing health.
The indaba will end on Sunday and family members will not be allowed to bring food except roasted and pounded maize.
According to sources, one of the spirit mediums only identified as Dutsa, was already at the mountain waiting for the family members to arrive this afternoon.
“We will be seeking spiritual guidance on social problems that are affecting the family such as failure to secure jobs and preservation of our sacred places.
“Yes, we are worried about the failing health of our mother (Grace),” said a Gushungo clan member, who declined to be named for security reasons.
“We will thank the ancestors.

Cecil John Rhodes’ Grave EMPTY With NOTHING other than Pale Ashes
British explorer Cecil John Rhodes’ grave which ZANU PF says has his bones, has nothing inside it apart from ashes, it has been reported.
“There is nothing in there apart from the man’s ashes as he was cremated,” senior members of the ex-Rhodesians group have said in an exclusive report seen by this reporter.
COMMENT:I heard a Julius Malema is up in arms against any statues or memorial structures that remind people of the bad colonial past in South Africa. Now the same agenda could potentially spill onto the Zimbabwean soil. Many with nothing to do could be motivated just not to be outdone. How patriotic! I am not saying Cecil John Rhodes or Charles Rudd or Moffat were heroes. They were not. Rhodes took advantage of our ancestry and did horrible stuff to them as they were displaced and robbed of their assets and property.
A century later, we look back and wonder why our ancestry was taken for a ride to that extent. That was wrong and should never be repeated. Now, as we stand on our own, on a path to barbarism and jungle life, under this grinding poverty, corruption and hopelessness, let us not get distracted with trivial issues. Now we read in English, aspire to be associated with the West. We dream to send our children to the best private schools with traces of great standards left by the colonial system. We live like the English. We drink tea and burp with style as we aspire to have etiquette. We have dress codes and certain decorous behavior. Oh how colonialism changed the terrain.
Even our President sounds British and he lives, breathes and dresses like a white person. He is even friends with many influential people who are the descendants of the colonialists the world over. Why? Because he thinks it is cool. Water now runs through the taps in many households, there is power that comes to the house. Even toilets that flush are in the house. Before Cecil John Rhodes, we were innocent natives. Some of us wore animal skins, were shoeless, innocent and shallow minded. We ate berries and grew crops and hunted. We walked hundreds of miles to see our own. There were no phones. Things that excited us then are even embarrassing to discuss today. Today we use planes, cars and buses. There were no roads. Today we use roads. Before Rhodes, even this message could be just a heap of crazy logarithm characters with nothing of significance.
People survived on good memory. A century later, we can read and write. Most live in, or aspire to be in towns and cities. The infrastructure is now polished. We put on Armani suits, we have Gucci, Ray Barn, Tommy Hilfiger, Chanel, you name it. Technology, fashion, trinkets, comfort. We have shoes for weddings and shoes for winter, shoes for track and shoes for the rain. Even houses have become mansions with bedroom names and numbers. We change cars according to mood and occasions. We have come to appreciate the endless advantages of progressive comfort and good life…the list is endless. Cecil John Rhodes and his merchants unfairly colonized Zimbabwe through the Scramble for Africa. They introduced a draconian law system, robbed us of our resources and pushed us in the least admired lands and squashed us in there. We were on forced labor and treated as if we were aliens from another planet in our own homes. That was cruel.
Today, 35 years after independence, we are back to the same evil system that Cecil John Rhodes introduced to Zimbabwe. People live in fear of their own brothers and sisters, they are heavily taxed (toll gates and bribery), crime is high, people live in fear of being abducted. In this myriad of poverty and suffering, many now turn to the remnants of the colonial system to vent out their frustration. I wish many knew the real cause of the suffering for the people of Zimbabwe. Misplaced priorities. Bad governance, greed, selfishness, big headedness, corruption, a know-it-all attitude, arrogance, pride and confusion. Our government is run by ZANU PF. People at first loved the idea of majority rule and were even carried away by farm ownership. Living in farm houses once occupied by those mzungus. But what is land without proper planning and production? And what is independence without freedom, rule of law, jobs and good health care? People get easily distracted over nothing.
I look at the colonial system and hate the way our ancestry was treated. It took generations for people to recover. Once we recovered, we seem to be heading back to savagery. It’s common to read about people who had sex with chickens, goats or donkeys. Some eat other people through weird cannibalism. Some burn each other in houses. Violence is high. Others get abducted and are thrown back onto the streets as dead bodies. That’s just the way life is today. People have become selfish and it’s now survival of the fittest. And we are on our own in Zimbabwe as we can call the shots. Colonialism had a dark side yet it also had a silver lining. The economy boomed. People saw light as ignorance was swept away. Diseases like Malaria were soon contained. Many now can read and write and even acquire top degrees together with whatever specialization they want.
The world over, our people can now travel or live and work there. Back in the day, the economy was moving. Now it is on a standstill. By destroying the grave of Cecil John Rhodes, are we going to change the economy that is now heading south? What do we gain? Rhodes died. His skeletons will never change anything. Now that you know your rights, you have become a danger even to yourselves. Good thing. Now you can read and write and eat at a table and watch a TV or be on a plane. The effects of colonial rule. Of course the side effects were racism and social inequality. But we have since addressed that by sweat and blood and even lost lives. We have our independence. If we are this anti-colonialist, as we run the show, how many cities built after independence have English names? Why are we still having English curriculum? When things were moving, no one ever thought about some of these flash in the pan issues. So at this pace of trying to forget the colonial past does that mean every James, John and Robert should quickly find a Venda, Chewa, Shona or Ndebele name? As we get drunk in our small beer hall gardens after some great music under candle lights somewhere at an old farm, let us not get distracted with trivial issues my countrymen. I am not an apologist to colonial rule but some of our anti-colonial ideologies are exceeding reality and will never bring back the green and promising Zimbabwe of 1980. Colonial rule was bad. Fact. But desecrating the grave of Cecil John Rhodes to have some of its fallen concrete will not even help to fill up even one pot hole in Bulawayo or Harare. There are better things to do to address issues hovering above Zimbabwe. Just saying.
Madzibaba Ishmael Trial Twists Hot as Police Blot Gloat
The case against Madzibaba Ishmael Chokurongerwa (Mufani) charged for ordering his church members to beat up ZRP officers in May last year took a twist yesterday when a po-lice officer contradicted earlier submitted evidence.
A female cop a police constable Chipo Chokuronga speaking at the Harare Magistrates Court, said that a conversation occurred between the Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe (ACCZ) president Johannes Ndanga and the accused church leader shortly before the violence broke forth. This was in direct contradiction with what the same Ndanga had said when he said he never communicated with the accused.
The court was left in stitches when it was passively suggested how the officer could be able to instantly recognise the accused when she did not know him before.
Chironga’s submissions however were in concert with those of the first State witness Stanley Tafireyi,
Tafireyi also submitted that Madzibaba Chokurongerwa was at the shrine on the day of the at-tack.
“When we arrived, Ndanga conversed briefly with Madzibaba Ishmael,” Tafireyi said.
He continued, “When Ndanga started addressing the gathering, someone stood up and said he should address them in Shona because there was no white person present.
“Ndanga then instructed us to arrest the person who had interjected. It was then that Madzibaba Ishmael started singing the song Humambo Hwemapfumo Neropa (Kingdom of the Blood and the Spear) and the other members followed after,” he said.
It is the State’s case that that that is when the church folk then stood up and began assaulting the cops.
9,000 Teachers (t) Being Axed by Zim Govt
State Media:At least 9,000 temporary teachers are set to lose their jobs to qualified teachers countrywide as the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education moves to employ trained personnel.
In an interview after his address at the Joint Command and Staff Course Number 28 at Zimbabwe Staff College in Harare yesterday, the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Cde Lazarus Dokora said his ministry was inviting all trained teachers to apply for teaching posts at primary and secondary schools throughout the country.
“All trained teachers who are unemployed must be employed. All those who were employed as teachers and signed illegal or dubious contracts to teach at whatever school must be redeployed where their skills are needed and let qualified personnel take their places,” said Cde Dokora.
He said the rationalisation exercise was in line with some of the recommendations of the 1999 Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Education and Training (CIET), commonly referred to as the Caiphas Nziramasanga Commission.
He said the process of hiring qualified personnel would be completed by May 1, 2015.
He said time was ripe for the education sector to establish its own Professional Educational Council of Zimbabwe to standardise the teaching practice.
“It’s against this background that my ministry has reviewed the education curriculum based upon the recommendations of the Commission of Inquiry into Education and Training of 1999,” Cde Dokora said.
He said despite the challenges that Zimbabwe faced over the last decade, the Zanu-PF government had ensured that the fundamental architecture of the country’s internationally acclaimed system of education remained intact.
He said the country was poised to deepen the foundations of the education system as exemplified by its continued highest literacy rate in Africa.
Cde Dokora said the high literacy rate was testimony to the fact that Zimbabwe’s system of education was built on a profound and durable architecture.
“This unquestionable architecture has tenaciously withstood the unprecedented regime change pressures that have, among other things, sought to make its subversive point by seeking to demolish the pillars of the country’s system of education,” said Cde Dokora.
He said the Nziramasanga Commission had also recommended the adoption of ubuntu or unhu as the overarching philosophy guiding the education system in the country.
He said the ubuntu philosophy was an African philosophy of humanism, a worldview that distinguishes Africans from other citizens of the world yet shares most of what is universally accepted as goodness with the rest of the human race. herald
Commander Shiri Duped 50,000 by Conman
State Media:A Harare man, Brian Tarisai Kambasha, was yesterday convicted of stealing $50 000 from Air Force of Zimbabwe Commander Air Marshal Perrance Shiri in a botched solar power system deal and will be sentenced today.
Kambasha (32) was convicted of theft of trust property together with his company, Hemmingworth (Pvt) Ltd, after a fully contested trial. In his judgment, magistrate Mr Milton Serima said Kambasha’s case was not different from that of “diesel n’anga” Rotina Mavhunga who made false representations to top Government officials.
“The accused person duped a high- ranking person who parted ways with his $50 000 for nothing after he was made to believe that all was in the right direction. His case is not different with that of Rotina Mavhunga, who also lied to top officials,” he said.
He added: “He was cunning from the beginning as he also misrepresented to President Mugabe that his project was genuine, prompting the Head of State to try and help him access a loan from the bank. This level of cunning behaviour shows the kind of person who can use any tricks to dupe people.”
Mr Serima said the State managed to prove a case against Kambasha and his company, stating that the two did not meet their obligation.
“The accused was to deliver and install the plant as per their agreement. Complainant met his obligation and paid the money. The question is whether the accused fulfilled their obligations and the answer is no.
“What they did is not what they agreed with the complainant and they failed to give a satisfactory answer as to what the money was used for,” he said. In aggravation, prosecutor Miss Sharon Mashavira said only a custodial sentence was appropriate in the circumstances.
“He did not have any defence to offer. Instead he just wasted the court’s time by pleading not guilty. He deserves nothing but a custodial sentence. He tried to drag names of people in higher offices into this case but this did not help him,” she said.
“He also dragged the name of the complainant into disrepute by alleging that he was abusing his office by taking him to court. He should be given a sentence which will hinder would-be-offenders,” she said.
In mitigation, Kambasha through his lawyer Mr Tazorora Musarurwa, pleaded for the court’s lenience arguing that he did not benefit anything from the offence. He pleaded for a wholly suspended sentence coupled with restitution.
After hearing submissions from both counsels, Mr Serima remanded Kambasha in custody to today for his sentence. Mr Musarurwa unsuccessfully applied to have him remanded out of custody.
The State submitted that he could abscond considering that he was convicted of a serious offence which called for a prison term. herald
Tsvangirai In U-Turn Spin Over By Elections
MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai has been caught in a fix and is now burning in reverse gear over his expelling of Renewal Team MPs for which he has drafted a U turn concept paper.
In what has also been referenced with the party’s Spokesman Obert Gutu, ZimEye.com can reveal Tsvangirai now itching in confusion, is set to change his position on participating in the upcoming by-elections for the 14 parliamentary seats. This came as pressure mounted from perceived potential international donors that Mr Tsvangirai crucified himself for Robert Mugabe gain when he recalled Tendai Biti and his group of MPs the MDC-T say are “rebels.”
The “rebels” include popular activist Solomon Madzore millions of Zimbabweans label Zimbabwe’s Nelson Mandela and pulled away untold thousands from Tsvangirai’s support base.
Impeccable senior sources in Tsvangirai’s office told ZimEye.com, Spokesman Obert Gutu’s announcing that the party is not going to participate but will hold an emergency National Council is the first sure step to reversing the boycott.
“That very same National Council unless Tsvangirai himself twists the decision, is the meeting that will reverse the 2014 Congress Resolutions that stops us from participating,” they said.
They also added that Tsvangirai is currently consumed in regret. “This has given the president a headache to ponder the loss of such a huge number of MPs whose presence diluted ZANU PF’s legislative stranglehold.”
“It is a great lesson learnt and the party has taken this issue seriously to avoid such developments in future,” they added.
It was not clear at the time of writing the full list of names of people Tsvangirai intends to field for the by elections but party heavyweights suggested that Theresa Makone, Douglas Mwonzora, Obert Gutu, and Tsvangirai’s uncle, Hebson Makuvise are all vying for the big job which has several benefits besides a salary.
The development if it goes according to plan, will also leave an embarrassing challenge to another prominent member of the party, Job Sikhala who has vowed to resign from politics altogether if his party participates in the said by-elections. One analyst last night loudly paused the following question, “What will Sikhala do?”
Zanu PF to rule Forever Because of MDC’s “Deadly Detrimental”
“The Herald Editor Caesar Zvayi has assured Zanu PF that it will govern until don-keys grow horns as the only opposition political party that claim to have massive support, the MDC-T take detrimental decisions.”
This is an expression of wishful thinking than a statement of fact because the exact opposite is if fact true. As long as MDC-T or any like-minded politicians remain the only political challengers to Zanu PF then, yes, Zanu PF dictatorship will never be dismantled and thus the party’s continued hold on power is assured.
What Zvayi has failed to appreciate is the fact that Zanu PF has completely lost the popular support of ordinary Zimbabweans because the party has completely failed to deliver on its promise of mass prosperity and delivered instead mass poverty. In a country where unemployment has soared to Mount Everest heights of 90%, 16% of the population are now living in abject poverty, incomes have dropped to their lowest in 60 years, life expectancy has dropped from 68 years in 1980 to 34 years in 2004, etc., etc.; one does not have to be a rocket scientist to realize that they are economically worse of today than they were in the past.
What is worse, the Zimbabwe economy is set to get even worse not better. Zanu PF’s own recovery plan, ZimAsset, is dead in the water for lack of donors to bankroll it. For the first time since independence the regime has now accepted the need to make savage cuts in its bloated civil servant and no doubt similar savage cuts will happen in local government, parastatals and all the other quasi – public institutions.
All those axed from their positions are destined for the unemployed-mountain and abject poverty. Not that this sacrifice would result in any meaningful economic re-covery; it is too little too late. Yes the bloated public sector has been a burden to the nation but so too has been mismanagement and corruption. It is the gross misman-agement and rampant corruption that are the main causes behind the country’s economic meltdown.
Mugabe and Zanu PF have pointedly refused to deal with mismanagement and cor-ruption all these last 35 years because they are at the very heart of the party’s politi-cal patronage system that has kept Mugabe and the party in power. So for 35 years mismanagement and corruption have been allowed to grow and spread like cancer-ous cells. Today they are tumours the size of tennis balls and they are everywhere!
Zimbabwe’s economic meltdown is now so serious the situation is not socially and politically sustainable. Zanu PF is under ever increasing pressure to accept regime change. What MDC has failed to deliver in 15 years will now happen as the result of Zanu PF’s failure to rig economic recovery.
Still the need to get rid of the MDC party going forward is important because the country still need to dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship regards what forced the re-gime to accept change.
By the end of Zimbabwe’s second five-year Economic Structural Adjustment Pro-gramme, 1995 to 1999, it was clear the nation’s economy was in serious trouble and Zanu PF regime had ran out of ideas of what to do to fix it. From there on Zanu PF was unelectable the only reason the party has still stayed in power to this day is simple; in Tsvangirai and his MDC outfit Mugabe had the most corruptible – it did not take much to bribe MDC leaders – and breathtakingly incompetent – MDC leaders actually believed they would still win the 2013 elections even with not even one democratic reform implemented.
As long as Zanu PF’s main political opponents are corrupt and incompetent leaders like Morgan Tsvangirai and the other MDC leaders then, yes, Zanu PF will misrule the country forever! Our Herald Editor knows that and what he is doing is a bit of re-verse psychology, by warning MDC’s naïve and gullible supporters that Zanu PF will rule forever if MDC breaks up the editor is scaring the supporters in a panic and thus secure MDC’s continued opposition dominance.
“You seem to hate Tsvangirai and his MDC friends more than you hate President Mugabe and Zanu PF,” wrote Patrick Guramatunhu, commenting on my demand for MDC leaders to resign. “What you fail to understand is for the majority of ordinary Zimbabweans it is the other way round. Although you have condemned Zanu PF in the strongest language still when you attach MDC and demand that the leaders re-signed you might just as well ask the people to hug Zanu PF. The people will not do that and hence the reason most people agree with what you say but they will not follow you and stick to MDC instead.”
Of course Patrick is right, Zimbabweans hate Mugabe and Zanu PF with a burning passion so much so they “would vote for a donkey rather than Robert Mugabe”, as Professor Jonathan Moyo once said. The trouble with hatred, especially burning ha-tred, is that it can cloud the mind making it impermeable to reason.
People hate Mugabe because he has failed to deliver economic prosperity; they want an end to the grinding poverty and despair. The only way that will happen is stopping Mugabe rig the elections by implementing the democratic reforms, changes, designed to dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship. Tsvangirai has had many chances to deliver those all-important democratic changes in the last 15 years with the best chances being during the GNU. He has failed to get even one reform implemented in the five years of the GNU because he and his fellow MDC village idiots are corrupt and incompetent.
If we want to end the Zanu PF dictatorship we must get all the democratic reforms implemented, period. If Tsvangirai and his MDC village idiots failed to get even one reform implemented during the GNU when they had all the trump cards it is naïve to think they would do so now when Zanu PF has all the trump cards; that is a fact.
Ever since Tsvangirai and MDC decided to take part in rigged July 2013 elections against repeated advice from SADC leaders, the party’s donors and millions of oth-ers not to do so without the reforms; MDC have been deserted by all the above as a lost cause. All the MDC factions are broke and they have struggled to remain politically relevant.
MDC-T shot themselves in the foot by recalling the MDC-renewal MPs at a time when both factions have no money to contest the by-elections. Forget the nonsense of not taking part because they want reforms implemented, they have not said what reforms because they have no clue what they are.
The political demise of MDC is now a certainty, it has been painful slow in coming but we are finally getting there. The hope is the demise of MDC will force the electorate to open up their minds and be more receptive to reason. If the nation wants democratic changes the people themselves must do their homework and understand what these changes are because only then can they be sure to elect competent leaders who understand the reforms and will get them implemented and not be so easily bribed by Zanu PF tyrants.
Dube, Muchechetere Slapped with $58Million Lawsuit
State Media:The Ministry of Information together with the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation, have filed a lawsuit demanding $58 million from the public broadcaster’s former chairman Cuthbert Dube and five top managers.
Chief executive Happison Muchechetere, general manager news and current affairs Tazzen Mandizvidza, general manager finance Elliot Kasu, general manager radio services Allan Chiweshe and head of finance Ralph Nyambudzi, who are all suspended, were listed as co-defendants with Dube.
In the lawsuit, ZBC is listed as the First Applicant and the Information, Media and Broadcasting Services ministry as the Second Applicant.
They are accused of being reckless in their management of the entity and unjustifiably enriching themselves through hefty salaries and loans.
It is argued that the six carried out ZBC’s business in a negligent and reckless manner that caused financial prejudice to the company.
ZBC contends that the top brass acted extravagantly and allocated themselves hefty loans at the time the company was bleeding and in a dire financial state.
The largest amount being claimed by ZBC is that of $28 million which the accused are said to have connived not to remit to the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority in respect of statutory obligations.
The managers are also accused of abusing $23 million which they took fraudulently from the company.
According to the plaintiff’s declaration, on January 19, 2010, the five managers with the approval of Dube, took a loan of $618,000 from CBZ Bank for the purchase of executive vehicles.
It is ZBC’s argument that the six misrepresented that the loan had been approved by the board when it was their own initiative and decision.
They are also alleged to have unlawfully approved a housing loan scheme agreement between ZBC and CBZ Bank on May 5, 2010.
The housing loans, according to ZBC and the ministry, was unlawfully guaranteed in the name of ZBC without the approval of the board of directors.
The five managers benefited from the fraudulent housing scheme and the company suffered prejudice to the tune of $300,000.
The loans in question attracted $24,583 as a three percent administration fees, which was borne by ZBC.
Despite receiving the said loans, the managers in connivance with Dube, continued to unlawfully access housing allowances, thereby double dipping.
ZBC suffered financial prejudice to the tune of $441,400 as a result of the continued receipt of housing allowances.
In January 2010, the ZBC board approved the chief executive’s salary increase by 10 percent, but Dube and Muchechetere unlawfully increased the salary by 93,869 percent to the prejudice of the company.
On June 1, 2011, Dube and Muchechetere unilaterally increased Muchechetere’s salary by 365,579 percent.
In March 2010, the ZBC board of directors approved salary increment of 10 percent for general managers, but Muchechetere and his fellow managers disregarded the board resolution and increased it by 77,11 percent.
In June 2011, the management unlawfully awarded general managers 297,85 percent salary increase without any approval from the board.
In January 2010, the managers and heads of departments were awarded a 72 percent salary increment in total disregard of the 10 percent that had been approved by the board of directors.
A year later, the managers and heads of departments were also treated to a 77,21 percent salary increment.
The board of directors approved a 20 percent salary increment for the general staff in March 2010, but the workers ended up getting 30,52 percent.
In March 2011, the workers were awarded 89,175 percent salary increase without the board’s approval, while they got another 22,546 percent increment in March 2012.
On July 25, 2013, Muchechetere reportedly received an irregular cash payment of $50,000 as part of his purported back pay, but no tax was deducted from the amount.
Between 2009 and 2013, the management recklessly and negligently failed to remit tax (Pay As You Earn) to the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority in breach of the Income Tax Act.
Failure to remit tax is likely to cost ZBC up to $10,759,494.
During the same period, the management failed to withhold 10 percent tax on the fees paid to artists and authors.
ZBC paid $1,364,393 to artists and authors between 2009 and 2013, but failed to remit $136,493,33 to ZIMRA.
Dube is being accused of theft after taking furniture belonging to the company worth $5,072. The property was acquired through some barter trade arrangement between ZBC and Teachers’ Furniture where a Samsung 65-inch LED television set, Opus Plasma stand, four Eland side stools and one Eland coffee table were delivered to ZBC.
It is alleged that Dube took the furniture and kept it for himself to the prejudice of ZBC.

MDC-T In Panic Mode, Goes for Emergency Council after Biti MPs recall
MDC-T will hold an emergency national council meeting within the next two weeks to deliberate on the implications of the nullification of the seats held by 21 MPs belonging to the breakaway Renewal Team.
Obert Gutu, in an interview Wednesday, described the expulsion of the 21, among them the Renewal Team’s secretary general, Tendai Biti, as a major event that warranted the attention of the council, the party’s supreme decision making body.
“The recall of the MPs is a significant event that we must unpack and strategise around. It has a vast array of implications for us, so we need to treat it with the seriousness it requires,” Gutu said.
The MPs, who won their seats in the 2013 elections on the Tsvangirai party’s ticket were expelled by the speaker of parliament, Jacob Mudenda, last week. The MDC-T had insisted that the Renewal Team MPs should be recalled as they had joined a new political formation, the United Movement for Democratic Change (UMDC).
Biti, in an interview with The Zimbabwean last week, said they would challenge their expulsion at the Constitutional Court.
He argued that Mudenda had no legal authority to decide who the legitimate leader of MDC was, adding that he had earlier referred the power contest to the courts. Biti’s formation still maintains that it is the one in charge of the MDC, saying it has not formed or joined any other party, the UMDC included.
Last year, the Biti faction broke away from Tsvangirai accusing him of leadership failure.
There has been speculation on whether or not MDC-T would stop its boycott of elections without sufficient electoral reforms.
Gutu said the party stuck to its stance on the boycotts but did not completely rule out the possibility of future participation in elections, especially in light of the recall. It is likely that the ruling Zanu (PF), to which the speaker belongs as a politburo member, will push for by elections in the vacant 21 seats.
“The decision not to participate in all elections before there are meaningful electoral reforms was made at our congress last year and that is remains our position.
“The only organ that can change that is the national council and it will decide when it meets within two weeks. I would not want to pre-empt what will happen when the council meets,” said Gutu.
Analysts say a continued boycott of the elections, while justified, could play into Zanu (PF)’s hands – as it would then claim the majority of the contested seats.
Jorum Gumbo, the Zanu (PF) parliamentary chief whip, said the recall of the MPs would play to his party’s advantage and expressed optimism that they would increase their majority in parliament.
“If President Mugabe decrees by-elections for the 21 seats, that will make my life as the chief whip easier. I wouldn’t have to worry about absconding MPs because the house will virtually belong to us. We are obviously going to take most if not all the seats at the by-elections. Naturally, of course, that will give me some headache because I would have more MPs to whip,” Gumbo told The Zimbabwean. Some party insiders claimed that Zanu (PF) would take advantage of the absence of the 21 to fast track changes to the constitution.
“We are going to remove most of the commissions that the 2013 constitution provides for. It will be easy for us to make wholesale changes to the constitution, which many of us have always seen as a compromise with the MDC during the GNU (Government of National Unity),” said a senior party member.
Gumbo, however, said Zanu (PF) had not adopted an official position to change the constitution yet. “Personally, I agree with finance minister, Patrick Chinamasa, that the constitution has the potential to squeeze the economy through unnecessary institutions like some of our commissions, provincial councils and the number of MPs.
“However, that is not the position of the party yet, even though I know that many of our MPs support it. In any case, why should we celebrate the recall of the MPs, considering that we have always had a majority since August 2013?” said Gumbo. -TheZimbabwean
Boy’s Manhood Chopped Off In Botched Operation
Four failed operations have stolen six-year-old Anotipaishe Matambanashe’s childhood after negligent medical practitioners failed to properly handle his umbilical chord at birth, and damaging his male organ in the process.
The child writhes in pain when urine gushes through large pores that were left by a local urologist.
“Anopaishe was born on the 19th of October 2008 at Zengeza 3 Polyclinic. He was born fine but a midwife negligently handled my son’s umbilical code, damaging his organ in the process,” said Shuvai Matambanashe, the boy’s mother.
The midwife in question was only identified as Sister Mandimika.
Anopaishe’s childhood has been characterised by operations to rectify his manhood and ensure that he passes urine like other normal boys of his age.
One Dr D.A Dube of number 60 Baines Avenue in Harare, who carried out the procedures completely damaged the minor’s essentials to an extent that after four operations, urine gushes from around his waistline and he moves around in diapers.
Dr Dube could not be reached for a comment.
A nurse at Dr Dube’s surgery, Sister Chimere told the State Media that Dr Dube is out of the country.
There is however hope for the little boy after all but at a cost of about $12570 for a plastic surgery in India. – ZBC
New Airline Company Fastjet Gets Zimbabwe Permit
Low cost airline Fastjet says it has received an air service permit (ASP) from government, the penultimate step before obtaining an air operator certificate which will enable the airline to operate in Zimbabwe.
The start-up carrier is already serving eastern and southern Africa, and has pursued an acquisitive strategy to extend its reach. Last year, it introduced flights on the Dar es Salaam-Harare route.
Its receipt of an ASP means that the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe and the transport ministry have approved the business plan, aircraft choice and proposed structure of the planned airline as appropriate to operate and compliant with Zimbabwe regulations.
“Fastjet has identified many potential routes within and from Zimbabwe where it believes that the low cost model will stimulate the market and tap into the huge market of passengers currently travelling by bus,” said interim executive chairman and chief executive Ed Winter in a statement on Wednesday.
“For example there are as many as 100 buses a day travelling the 1,100km between Harare and Johannesburg at fares up to $120 – return.”
Fastjet intends to operate in domestic and international destinations.
“We recognized the real potential in Zimbabwe some time ago and as such have been working with the authorities both to build Fastjet Zimbabwe and obtain permission to commence operations to various domestic and international destinations from the country,” said Winter.
“The granting of the ASP demonstrates the ever-increasing reputation that Fastjet has built across the region and marks a significant step forward for our business.”
The airline currently operates in Zambia, Tanzania and Uganda. Another low cost airline, FlyAfrica, already operates in Zimbabwe.
REVEALED: Mugabe Is A N’anga Devil
Robert Mugabe claims he is a Christian and Catholic, but the ZANU PF leader has been captured on footage several times meshing with notorious n’angas, ZANU PF’s expelled Spokesman Rugare Gumbo reveals in a development that shows that Mugabe is actually a N’anga Devil.
Despite his public statements denigrating spirit mediums and traditional healers, President Robert Mugabe has consulted n’angas himself, says Rugare Gumbo, a war veteran and former Zanu (PF) information secretary.
“Mugabe has been consulting n’angas and all who have belonged to his inner circle know that. It is surprising that he now wants to talk as if n’angas are an unfamiliar thing to him.
That’s utter hypocrisy,” said Gumbo, a war veteran and former Zanu (PF) information secretary, of late, Mugabe has publicly attacked his former deputy, Joice Mujuru, for allegedly using traditional healers to gain magical power to get rid of him so that she could take over.
The allegations emerged in the run-up to the Zanu (PF) congress and Mugabe repeated them again during his 91st birthday bash in Victoria Falls.
Mugabe claimed that, among other things, Mujuru hired n’angas from Nigeria, a country famed for weird magic stunts, to enhance her chances to take over from him.
“She (Mujuru) even hired some Nigerian n’angas, who ordered her to get 10 chickens and each was named after all of us who were believed to be against them. All the chickens were slaughtered in belief that all of us including Amai Mugabe and [Vice President] Mnangagwa would not live up to this day,” alleged Mugabe, an avowed Roman Catholic. But he did not explain how he got the information. Mugabe fired Gumbo from the party ahead of the congress last year, accusing him of plotting to kill him, but the former information secretary dismissed that as his former boss’s “imagined shadow”.
Gumbo and former secretary for administration Didymus Mutasa, who has also been fired for siding with Mujuru, recently filed an urgent court challenge against their dismissal from the ruling party.
Gumbo said numerous other top leaders of Zanu (PF) frequently visited n’angas to get political power enhancing charms. A Zanu (PF) source told The Zimbabwean that one of the vice presidents was recently involved in a car accident on his way from a n’anga.
Gumbo said Mugabe also consulted apostolic sect faith healers to get prophecies on his future and life in general. In 2010, the president was photographed attending a Johane Marange Apostolic Faith sect service clad in white robes and clasping a church walking stick.
There has been speculation that the n’angas are the ones who claimed to Mugabe that Mujuru was dabbling in juju.zimbabwean
Terror Attack on Mujuru Supporters by ZANU PF
Zanu PF has launched a brutal campaign of terror against perceived supporters of former Vice President Joice Mujuru ahead of the party’s divisive primary elections to choose candidates to stand in 16 vacant legislative seats around the country, the Daily News has learnt.
To add fuel to the raging factional fires devouring the party, the schismatic process of choosing candidates for vacant Parliamentary seats also comes on the back of an equally divisive “restructuring” programme that the party’s new top leadership is undertaking.
The country is set to hold by-elections in the 16 constituencies following the recent expulsion of two Zanu PF and 21 MDC legislators from Parliament.
Seven of the 21 MDC seats will not be contested outside the opposition party as they are proportional representation seats.
Zanu PF terrorises Mujuru supporters
Victims of Zanu PF’s terror campaign against their own told the Daily News yesterday that the vicious violence, intimidation and harassment of perceived party supporters of Mujuru was escalating ahead of the internal primaries and restructuring of the party — itself, a controversial programme to weed out pro-Mujuru officials from their influential local and provincial posts.
Fearful of more harassment and worse violence, the victims pleaded with the Daily News not to identify them.
They said the fact that the MDC had said that it might not partake in any of the contested by-elections, unless necessary electoral reforms were crafted and enacted ahead of the polls, had worsened Zanu PF’s infighting as many “Weevils” felt that this was their best chance to get into Parliament.
“The Weevils (anti-Mujuru Zanu PF supporters) are running amok and terrorising all of Amai Mujuru’s perceived supporters, who they now regard as enemies in the same way that they view (MDC leader Morgan) Tsvangirai’s supporters.
“As a result, many innocent people are being weeded out of the party’s structures, harassed and assaulted, mostly because they don’t want to chant anti-Mujuru slogans,” one of the victims said.
Former Zanu PF spokesperson, Rugare Gumbo, who maintains that he represents the pre-congress Zanu PF, confirmed to the Daily News yesterday that all supporters who were perceived to be loyal or connected to Mujuru were going through a torrid time.
“We are fully aware of the intimidation in the restructuring that is taking place, primarily because of the resistance to the ongoing thuggery by the people,” he said.
Gumbo, one of the two surviving members of the Dare reChimurenga, said an insecure post-congress Zanu PF was “targeting bona fide members in a desperate bid to scupper the chances of Mujuru” ever recovering from her ouster from power.
“They are purging anyone who they believe to be connected to Mujuru, Mutasa or Gumbo,” the liberation struggle pioneer said.
“We are hearing of massive intimidation in areas where by-elections are set to be held. We have heard reports of assaults in Chirumanzu-Zibagwe, where soldiers and the police are harassing the masses.
“The same thing happened in Mt Darwin. However, the important thing is for people to stick to their beliefs. You do not force people to follow you.
“The party is appointing people to positions in all structures as was the case at the illegal congress that was held last year,” Gumbo added.
But reacting to the allegations, Zanu PF political commissar Savior Kasukuwere, who is spearheading the restructuring, said Gumbo, former Presidential Affairs minister Didymus Mutasa and Mujuru should “shut up and enjoy their retirement” quietly.
“They must take their retirement nicely, they should just enjoy their retirement please,” Kasukuwere said.
The continuing deadly ructions within Zanu PF come at a time that President Robert Mugabe has openly admitted that he is a worried man, adding that he is having many sleepless nights as a result.
Speaking at Kutama Mission’s Centenary celebrations in Zvimba at the weekend, the frail-looking nonagenarian told gathered current and former students that he had arrived late for the event because he had only slept for two hours on Saturday night.
“I want to thank you all for coming. I was disjointed because we came back at midnight yesterday. I had two hours of sleep and … I have the habit that if I have something that worries my mind, my mind sleeps on it and I constantly jump out of sleep and say is it not time, is it not time. That is why we were a bit late in coming to this function,” Mugabe said.
However, Mugabe — Africa’s oldest leader — did not get into details about what it was that was troubling him.
Observers said among the issues stressing the nonagenarian are the rising political tensions in the country, a worsening national economic environment, the deadly infighting in Zanu PF, his sick wife and his own failing health associated with old age. – DailyNews

‘Mugabe confirms incapacity to govern’ – MDC T
Staff Correspondent
Movement for Democratic Change today came out guns blazing, in reaction to confirmation by President Robert Mugabe that he was now in need of retirement. The head of State was quoted speaking at the Kutama Centenary Celebrations in Zvimba on Sunday, March 22 2015 where he openly admitted that he is tired.
As if that was not enough, he also stated that he was worried and overworked. The people of Zimbabwe are living in virtual political and socio-economic bondage as a direct result of the ruinous economic and political trajectory that Zimbabwe has taken over the past 35 years, with Mugabe at the helm.
“The old man is now 91 and clearly past his prime. Most certainly, Zimbabwe has no shortage of younger and more capable leaders who are able to take over from the ailing nonagenarian,” said Obert Gutu in his press release.
“Robert Mugabe is not only the President of Zimbabwe after rigging himself back into power during the sham elections that were held on July 31, 2013. He is also the SADC and AU chairperson. Surely, it is tragic for Africa to burden the old man with such onerous responsibilities when he is in the sunset of his life. The MDC is hugely concerned by Robert Mugabe’s frequent absence from Zimbabwe,” said Obert Gutu.
Gutu also added, “Whilst the economy continues to nose-dive and the public health delivery system has literally gone to the dogs, we have a President who is now permanently domiciled aboard an Air Zimbabwe jet as he hops from one foreign destination to another. It is high time that Robert Mugabe is called to order. It’s either he chooses to enjoy his favourite past-time of flying around the globe or he stays put at State House in Harare and work very hard to ensure that Zimbabwe’s comatose economy is brought back to life. Mugabe cannot and indeed, he should not have it both ways.”
“While it is apparent that age has finally caught up with Robert Mugabe, the MDC would like to remind Mugabe that he is still free to take the statesman – like decision of immediately stepping down and retire to Gushungo Estates. The MDC is a civilised party of excellence that promises to do absolutely no harm to a 91 year old man who would have retired in order to save his country from continued economic decline and political paralysis,” said Gutu MDC T Spokesperson.
Gutu also ruled out persecuting Mugabe if he steps down, “Unlike the fascist and terroristic faction of Zanu PF that is led by Robert Mugabe, the MDC is a people – centred political organisation that will not persecute and harass Mugabe should he choose to immediately retire and retreat to Gushungo Estates.”
Zimbabwe is at the cross-roads. The majority of the people are living in penury and grinding poverty. The current rain season has been erratic and it is now pretty obvious that millions of Zimbabweans will be in need of food relief starting from the end of May, 2015. The Zanu PF regime is totally bankrupt and is clearly unable to raise the money that now urgently required importing maize in order to avert massive starvation throughout the country.
“The biggest challenge facing Zimbabwe today is the lack of political legitimacy. We have a renegade and insipidly corrupt regime that can only drive Zimbabwe into a socio-economic and political hell-hole,” concluded Gutu.
Maid Arranges Rape Of 10 Year Old Girl
Claret Ndovu
A maid from Plumtree has been arrested by police for receiving money from different men and facilitating the rape of her South African-based employer’s 10-year-old daughter to supplement her salary.
Claret Ndlovu, 30, would allegedly invite different men to have sex with the girl at her employer’s house in Plumtree’s ZBS area between March 1 and 15 this year.
Ndlovu, who was hired in January, has been living with her employer’s three minor children while their mother is in South Africa where she is employed.
She told the police that her employer was underpaying her and sending inadequate groceries for her and the children, hence she resorted to pimping out the young girl to supplement her income.
Ndlovu appeared before Plumtree magistrate, Livard Philemon Philemon yesterday to answer to charges of rape.
She was not asked to plead and remanded in custody to April 7.
Ndlovu allegedly invited a man only identified as Abednico, who is still at large, to her employer’s house and assisted him to rape the minor on several occasions. Police are now investigating the other cases of rape allegedly facilitated by Ndlovu.
Prosecuting, Jane Phiri said Ndlovu invited Abednico during the period extending from March 1 to March 15.
“Ndlovu invited her accomplice to her employer’s homestead where she is looking after three juvenile children. She unlawfully assisted him to forcibly have sexual intercourse with the juvenile on several occasions without the knowledge of the other two children,” he said.
Phiri said the offence came to light after the juvenile was referred to hospital by her teacher after complaining of abdominal pains, leading to Ndlovu’s arrest.
Recently, a Bulawayo maid was sentenced to 22 years in jail after she placed a 10 month old baby in a drawer, leading to her death through suffocation. -chronicle
ZANU PF Exhuming Rhodes’ Remains
ZANU PF supporters in Bulawayo are exhuming British explorer Cecil John Rhodes without fail unless they are stopped after they last week threatened to dig up his remains in concert with anti-colonial protests in South Africa.
Rhodes is buried at a site he chose, known as World’s View, in the Matopos Hills, half-an-hour’s drive south of Zimbabwe’s second city Bulawayo. The grave is a major tourist attraction in southern Zimbabwe. President Robert Mugabe’s supporters said.
they are going to dig up the grave in solidarity with protests in South Africa calling for the removal of Rhodes’s statue from Cape Town University.
“We strongly support what is happening in South Africa. We cannot stand seeing whites coming from abroad every day to honour and conduct rituals before their ancestor who is buried on our own land,” said Zweli Malinga, an official with the ruling Zanu PF party in Bulawayo.
Three years ago, Mugabe blocked war veterans from disinterring Rhodes and sending his bones back to England, arguing that the grave was an important reminder of history. Rhodes, originally from Hertfordshire, made a fortune mining diamonds in South Africa before moving north to establish Rhodesia now Zimbabwe.
Ramabina Mahapa, a student leader at Cape Town University, said the bronze statue of Rhodes was offensive to black students. “Whose heritage are we preserving by keeping Rhodes here?”he asked. Malinga echoed the same sentiments, ” we can not talk of independence yet retain memories of our oppressors and call them national sites.”
Meanwhile villagers of Matobo District have vowed to resist any attempts by ZANU PF to tamper with Rhodes’ grave. The villagers claim Rhodes is now part of their culture and heritage and the site brings in a lot of income to villagers who sale to visiting tourists.
“We will fight tooth and nail against anyone who attempts to tamper with Rhodes’ grave,” said Nkululeko Sibanda a villager in the area. “These ZANU PF people are just jealous that this grave is in Matobo they wish it was in Harare. They want to dig it and transfer it to Harare like they did to all Bulawayo companies,” he added.
Matobo villagers are fresh from winning a battle for land against a senior ZANU PF official working in President Mugabe’s office. The villagers united to resist the officer from grabbing Maleme Ranch owned by a white farmer in the area. A Bulawayo ZANU PF supporter who identified himself as Comrade Diliza declared war against the villagers over Rhodes’ grave.
“We are watching the people from Matobo and would like to warn them that this time around their anti revolutionary moves are not going to be tolerated. We will remove Rhodes and if they resist they will go together with Rhodes’ bones, this is Zimbabwe,” said the self confessed former freedom fighZANU
Nust Lecturers Still Waiting For 13th Cheque
THE National University of Science and Technology (Nust) and its lecturers, under the umbrella of the Nust Educators’ Association (Nusteda) on Friday reached a stalemate on the issue of payment of bonuses, with the matter being referred to an independent arbitrator.
Two weeks ago, Nust lecturers joined other State university lecturers on a nationwide strike demanding payment of their February salaries and December 2014 bonus.
However, Higher and Tertiary Education minister Oppah Muchinguri quickly intervened and the lecturers were paid February salaries before they returned to work.
The bonus was, however, not paid leaving Nust lecturers disgruntled.
On Friday, the matter was taken before a labour officer of conciliation, where Nust was represented by Biggy Ngwenya from the human resources department, while Nusteda was represented by its lawyer Kossam Ncube and the whole executive led by Alois Muzuwe.
However, the parties failed to agree and the matter was referred to an independent arbitrator.
Higher and Tertiary Education minister Oppah Muchinguri
Higher and Tertiary Education minister Oppah Muchinguri
Ncube yesterday confirmed the latest development.
“It’s true the matter had gone for conciliation before a labour officer where both parties were to present their views so that they reach a settlement, but it failed and was referred for arbitration,” he said.
“Initially there were two matters which had been taken for conciliation, that of the February salaries and bonus.
“However, the February salaries were paid, leaving the bonus outstanding.
“When we went for conciliation, we insisted that bonuses should be paid because they were due since payslips were dispatched, but the money was not deposited.”
Ncube said Nust indicated they could not pay the bonuses since the institution relied on government funds, which were said would be staggered without giving a timeframe.
“We told them that we could not accept such a position where lecturers have to wait indefinitely for their bonus,” he said.
“Having reached that stalemate, the matter was referred for arbitration by an independent arbitrator.”
Last month, State university lecturers countrywide clashed with the government over the late payment of their January salaries and outstanding bonuses.
The government only paid their January salaries in mid-February.
Early this month, Higher and Tertiary Education deputy minister Godfrey Gandawa said bonus payments had been staggered, starting with the payment of University of Zimbabwe lecturers with the rest to receive theirs as and when funds became available. -southern eye
MDC-T Donates 14 Seats for ZANU PF to Pick
MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai’s party yesterday made an announcement that it has pulled away from contesting for 14 parliamentary seats, part of the 21 seats left vacant when Renewal Team rebels under Tendai Biti were expelled from parliament.
There is no going back and even if something serious were to happen, the party said they would still not contest in what might confirm a conspiracy theory that claims that Morgan Tsvangirai struck a secret deal with ZANU PF’s Jonathan Moyo to in the first place donate the seats to ZANU PF, as analysts now conclude.
In a development in which the party has replaced only 7 seats held under proportional representation, the MDC-T refused to participate in the upcoming by- elections blaming their reasons on Israeli database management system company, NIKUV.
Blaming NIKUV
The party’s spokesman Obert Gutu said NIKUV was “alive and kicking” and so they fear they will be outdone by ZANU PF. “We have discovered shocking inconsistencies. We have impeccable intelligence that points to that Nikuv is alive and kicking and under the payroll of the Zanu PF regime,” Gutu said.
“We will not legitimise the electoral fraud. Until and unless electoral reforms are fully implemented, we will not take part in elections,” he added.
Gutu also said that the move was in line with their congress resolutions. “Our position is clear. We have a congress resolution and we do not vacillate or blow hot and cold. We believe in sticking to principle,
“The national standing committee met and it was unanimously agreed that we have a resolution of congress and we should not be seen to be blowing hot and cold. We say nothing has changed in as far as the electoral playing field is concerned,” he said on the decision not to participate in what analysts is just a massive cover up of a hidden agenda.
COMMENT:
There has to date failed to produce compelling evidence of vote tampering by NUKUV.
At first it was NIKUV, now it is Microsoft, the list is endless, says Mark Chirowo, and this is why: Every database management software on earth can be used for vote rigging with a mouse click; they are all made for this, every one of them; for the fundamental aspects of the smallest Relational Database is their capability to provide to the user sophisticated tools for analyses which can be used to predict and pre-empt performance results at any point in time. It is for this reason that the NIKUV company cannot be blamed for the 2013 elections since doing this is clearly mis-firing. The voters must be told the truth, and nothing but the truth. To lift your finger and stretch it 6,000 miles away as far as Israel is clearly an attack on Microsoft, IBM, Apple, Adobe, Sun, and every other hard working software programmer in the world, who provide even greater, more sophisticated and ‘riggable’ software.
Enemies Will Not Destroy UMDC : Mhambi
The newly appointed MDC National spokesperson Joshua Mhambi yesterday emphasised that the party remains committed to the reunification agreement between MDC and the MDC Renewal saying that the expulsion of some Renewal MPs from Parliament will not destroy the marriage.
Below is his statement.
MDC committed to Reunification
The MDC remains unequivocally committed to the full implementation of the reunification agreement as signed by us and our counterparts from the MDC Renewal on the 26th of November 2014 in Harare.
We are however aware that our opponents are determined to ensure that the coming together of democrats is frustrated and eventually collapsed by many enemies inside and outside.
We also know that the expulsion of the Renewal MPs from Parliament is part of the bigger strategy against the UMDC. As MDC we believe that it is our collective responsibility to ensure that our enemies and opponents do not profit from the expulsion of the MPs from Parliament which they deliberately engineered.
While we have no control on what our opponents do against us we have total control on how we respond. We must never allow them to defeat the cause of democrats in coming together to find solutions to the challenges confronting our people.
We believe that our colleagues in Renewal remain as committed as we are to the full implementation of the reunification agreement.

Teen Stabs Man To Death For Beer
A boy aged 17 from Makhakhabule village in Beitbridge allegedly stabbed a 28 year old man to death after the deceased’s friend had spilled beer belonging to the teenager’s colleague.
Mayford Ndlovu now 18, appeared in Bulawayo High court before Judge Justice Moyo who charged him with the murder of Robert Mudhau of Dulibadzimu township in Beitbridge.
Ndlovu, represented by Kenneth Lubimbi, pleaded not guilty to the charge and submitted that it was not his intention to kill Mudhau, but he killed him in self-defence, as the deceased was the aggressor.
Both the state, represented by Nokuthaba Ngwenya, and the accused made their final submissions yesterday and the judge remanded the matter to today for judgment.
In his defence, Lubimbi submitted that Ndlovu accepts that he stabbed Mudhau once on the head with an Okapi knife thereby causing his death, but he did not intend to kill him.
“He did not appreciate that the stabbing would lead to the deceased’s death and regrets that he stabbed the deceased thereby causing his death,” Lubimbi submitted.
“The accused was acting under the influence of alcohol. He will say that he stabbed the deceased in self-defence as the deceased was the first to stab the accused on his right hand middle finger leaving a permanent scar.
“The deceased also hit the accused with a bottle as the accused tried to restrain him and Mpho Nyoni from assaulting his brother Elton Ndlovu.”
In his oral defence, Ndlovu said he did not have the knife but he snatched it from Mudhau when the deceased wanted to stab him.
But the state, represented by Ngwenya, submitted that Ndlovu’s oral defence was not credible, as he had deviated from his statement he made to the police.
The court heard that on June 6, 2014 at 4pm Mudhau was at Chamunanga Primary School playing grounds with his friends Nyoni and Richard Dean Noko watching interprovincial schools ball games competitions.
Also in attendance was Ndlovu in the company of his friends Emmanuel Ndou, Onias Moyo, Elton Ndou and Linson Mbedzi.
A misunderstanding arose after Nyoni spilled Onias’ beer. This degenerated into a fist fight between Ndlovu and Mudhau.
Ndlovu allegedly produced a knife from his pocket and stabbed Mudhau once on the head and escaped from the scene.
Mudhau sustained a deep cut on the head and was taken to Beitbridge Hospital where he died on June 7 at 1.30am. A post mortem report produced by Sanganayi Pesanayi states that Mudhau died due to brain damage, skull fractures, stab wound and homicide.
The state relied on Nyoni’s evidence that Moyo, who was holding a glass of beer bumped into Freedom Siziba as he was very drunk.
Nyoni said he took the glass of beer and poured the alcohol on the ground.
“This did not go down well with Siziba, who then returned with his friends demanding their beer.
“Noko then took the glass of Viceroy Brandy that I was drinking and poured it into their glass and the group went away,” he said.
Nyoni said Elton Ndou then threw a beer bottle at him trying to hit him but he missed.
“I then took a switch and tried to assault Elton but I missed as he snatched it,” he said.
“One Respect Muleya then took the switch from Elton Ndou and this led to a fight between Elton and his friends.”
Nyoni said Ndlovu, who had been watching from a distance, then rushed to the scene and produced a knife before stabbing Mudhau who fell down and out of fear Nyoni said he left the scene.
His evidence was corroborated by Moyo.
Mutuli Hove, a police officer, said when he went to the scene of the fight, he found Mudhau lying down bleeding from the head, while his friend Noko was trying to stop the bleeding using a hat.
He said he then asked Desmond Chikore to take him to hospital.
The state also relied on other police officers, Rodwell Muchengandava, Andrew Magwenzi and Takesure Buzu’s evidence and that of Pesanayi, which corroborated that of the first three witnesses. -southern eye
No Money Until Observe Rule of Law, Germany tells Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe can forget about any financial assistance until the day it begins to respect the rule of law, Germany has said.
“The general framework for rule of law is a critical factor for private sector to get involved in the Zimbabwean economy,” Ambassador Georg Schmidt, Germany’s Regional Director for Sub-Saharan Africa said.
Ambassador Schmidt, offered Zimbabwe the way out of the country’s economic meltdown and debt trap by offering to assist in repayment of the country’s debt in return for Zimbabwe implementing the economic and political reforms.
“Should the positive signals in the process of constitutional alignment and economic reform prove to be sustainable Germany is prepared to enter into an open dialogue with the Zimbabwean Government on ways out of the economic crisis, including the burdensome debt problem.”
“I came to Harare in this spirit,” Ambassador Schmidt gave the assurance.
Mugabe and his cronies do not deserve this help and thus the more reason they must grab it and be thankful. It is not every day that someone will offer to help pay another person’s bad debts particularly when the said debt is a self-inflicted wound from decades of criminal waste of resources through gross mismanagement, rampant corruption to all out looting and plunder.
Zimbabwe is a very rich country and would not need any helping hand if the country’s vast resources and wealth were managed properly and for the good of all and not wasted to gratify the insatiable greed of the few. In 2005/2006 Zimbabwe’s Marange and Chiadzwa diamonds were valued at a staggering $800 billion, for example. The exploitation of this bounty is now in full swing and yet the country has only collected mere pittance in tax revenue. A few weeks ago the nation learnt that will not receive even the pittance!
The Minister of Information, Professor Jonathan Moyo, twittered two months ago that there was going to be a “dramatic reduction in tax” from sale of Marange diamonds. His colleague, the Minister of Finance, Patrick Chinamasa, confirmed the bad news a few weeks later when he told parliament that “alluvial diamonds are finished”.
Government has been struggling to pay the wages of the bloated civil servants let alone pay for anything else. What Minister Chinamasa was failing to explain was why the government was not getting anything from in tax revenue from Marange diamond mining. By telling the nations there were no more diamonds the Minister was saving himself from having to give any more feeble excuses by giving one blatant lie.
Of course Chinamasa was lying that the diamonds were finished because the regime had just signed a deal with the Russians to mine for diamonds in Marange in September 2014. When Mugabe signed the $4.8 billion deal with the Russian to mine Platinum in Darwendale; he also signed a hush-hush deal with them to mine diamonds in Marange with the Zimbabwe Military as their local partner. The two shared the proceeds without having to pay any tax; that is why it was hush-hush.
Apparently this is in fact the norm; the foreign company provide the mining expertise and then share the proceeds from the sale of the diamond with their local partner without having to pay a penny in tax. The late Zanu PF MP Chindori Chininga confirmed this was indeed the practice in his parliamentary report in 2013. The report said the mining was a hectic 24 hours a day and 7 days a week operation and yet no one on the Zimbabwean side had any record of the quantity, quality and value of the diamonds the foreign partners were extracting and shipped out of the country.
The rich and powerful in the Zanu PF ruling elite are all in on the looting and plunder of Marange, including the Army, the Police and Zanu PF leaders including Mugabe himself. According to Partnership Africa Canada’s report, Mugabe made a mouth-watering $2 billion in 2012 alone from his share of the Marange diamonds.
In calling for “economic reforms” Ambassador Schmidt must have meant an end to Zimbabwe’s rampant corrupt but he could not have realized the extent and depth of the rot. How can Mugabe tell his cronies the tax free windfall concessions have all been terminated, especially when he has been so heavily involved himself and took the lion’s share all these years and has amassed unbelievable wealth for himself and his family. The cronies feel they are only playing catch-up!
The firing of former Vice President Joice Mujuru and 16 senior party and government leaders has made everyone in Zanu PF very jumpy. All these years Mugabe has kept the peace in the party by dishing out jobs in the bloated civil service, lucrative contracts, seized former white owned, tax-free diamond mining concessions, etc., etc. to his ever demanding but wasteful party loyalists just to keep them sweet. In the face of the country’s economic meltdown these patronage perks are all that is stopping many of these party loyalists sinking into abject poverty as has already happen to 16% of the country’s population.
If Mugabe was to end the system of political patronage now Zanu PF loyalists affected will never see it as a necessity for economic recovery but rather as the on-going political purge in the party. Purging Mujuru and those close to her is one thing but to purge the whole Zanu PF body-politic is political suicide.
Mugabe will never ever address the problem of mismanagement and corruption at the heart of Zimbabwe’s economic meltdown because he would have to end his political patronage system of rewarding corrupt and wasteful party loyalists. He needs their blind loyalty to stay in power now more than ever because the regime’s failed economic policies and political repression has made Zanu PF unelectable without vote rigging.
The European Union has already promised Harare $1.28 million to fund the process of aligning Zimbabwe’s existing laws to the 2013 Copac constitution. Ambassador, this is a waste of time and money because the Copac constitution alone will never delivered free and fair elections, restore law and order, restore property rights, etc. as the 2013 elections have already shown.
What Zimbabwe need to have ALL the democratic reforms agreed in the 2008 Global Political Agreement necessary for free and fair election and the restoration of all the freedoms and basic humans implemented. Since Zanu PF and MDC were the parties in the GNU who failed to get even one of the reform implemented it would be naïve not believe that with Zanu PF on its own can ever be trusted to implement any of these reforms.
Mugabe and Zanu PF must step down so that a body can be appointed to implement ALL the democratic reforms.
What Mugabe and his cronies have to realize is that the current economic system that has pushed unemployment rate to nauseating height of 90%, has forced 16% of the people into a life of abject poverty, etc. is socially, morally and politically unsustainable. Zimbabwe is sitting on a social time-bomb because no people can be expected to endure economic hardships that have denying them their humanity and hope forever without protesting. The limit of what Zimbabweans will endured has now been reached as can be seen by the growing public unrest.
Germany is offering Mugabe and his Zanu PF cronies a way out of the economic nightmare of the economic meltdown by helping organise and fund economic recovery and Zimbabwe ballooning national debt. Germany has the technical know-how and experience given that it was in total economic ruins after the Second World War but soon emerged as Europe’s economic power house it is today. This is an offer only a madman would refuse; all Mugabe has to do now is step down. But by refusing to step down, Mugabe will per se have elected that he will be forced out power the Muammar Gaddafi way!
Robert Mugabe Dying Moments | Opinion Analysis
Alternative scenarios for Mugabe’s sudden exit
A HISTORIC COURT case in President Mugabe’s honour.
- Ian Smith must be tried in his grave.
- All for Chatunga, Robert Jr, Bona and beautiful wife, Grace
President Robert has fought hard for black empowerment since Rhodesian times, and Zimbabwe’s upstanding liberation icon’s last dying moments now fast approaching, present a major opportunity to create a bright future for his children, Chatunga, Robert Jr, Bona and his beautiful wife, Grace while ensuring that he is placed into the halls of honour by both friend and foe.
The writing is on the wall and at the rate of going of things Robert Mugabe will be history anytime from now. Only he can save this large tank from spilling on him and whatever he does right now could either serve for his family’s future, or create sure destruction.
*Only WAY OUT of this quagmire for Mugabe- court trial of every Rhodesian including Bob himself*
This advanced , no return stage, requires a quick move and Robert Mugabe must urgently create the holding of a HISTORIC COURT CASE, the first of its kind in the world, where every crime committed by Rhodesians black and white including himself alal the way to this is very date, will be put under the prism of the law.
Even those who are in the grave must be tried, including Ian Smith, and that old dreadful mercenary and crook Cecil John Rhodes who falls under Zimbabwean jurisdiction (not British) being buried here at the Matobo hills. Every white grave and their damned bones must be served with a writ of justice.
Equally President Mugabe must allow himself to be tried and sentenced and surely at the end this whole global trial, it will emerge that others will be found far much more guilty than him. In any case at the age 90 no-one is going to imprison him as he is immune by virtue of age and not even the ICC – International Criminal Court can touch him. But this move will help re-shape his image so that even his enemies in the MDC parties will lift their flags of honour to his name.
This is clearly the only way the Head of State can be forgiven and his posterity, kids and wife can obtain legal reprieve. Soon after all this Mr Mugabe must resign and Gushungo must take a rest!

Mujuru’s ‘Secret Affair’ with Mugabe
Former Vice President Mujuru has said that she is bitter about the way Mugabe has “used and dumped” her.
She spoke in ways that suggest and point to us there was something more than just a boss to subordinate affair confirming an ongoing rumour that Grace Mugabe’s tirade against her has more cause than mere feeling behind it.
“Former vice-president Joice Mujuru says she bitterly feels President Robert Mugabe used and dumped her from her senior positions in Zanu PF and government after loyally serving for 42 years, having started working for the ruling party in the middle of a fierce liberation war at a tender age of 17,” reported The Independent.
After 34 years in power with all the traps of tyrannical absolute power brings she has the cheek to be bitter! How much more bitter should the millions of Zimbabweans whose lives have been a hell-on-earth all these years because of the misery brought on by Zanu PF betrayal of the values and principles of freedom, liberty and justice the nation had fought the bitter war against white racist regime to achieve and thousands lost their lives for!
Mai Mujuru is bitter that her pampered life was cut short after 34 years and she has ambitions of restarting from where she left off after she was unceremoniously booted out of Zanu PF last years by possibly standing as a presidential candidate in 2018. She is completely oblivious of the misery the Zanu PF dictatorship had inflicted on millions of ordinary Zimbabweans.
Throughout the whole interview Mai Mujuru talked about the fight for power in Zanu PF before independence and the role she and her late husband played in helping Mugabe takeover the leadership of the party, Zanu PF. She never once referred to the ordinary freedom fighters and povo and their aspirations for freedom, justice, lib-erty and human rights and dignity and a meaningful share in the nation’s economic wealth. It has not registered in her fist-size brain that Zanu PF has denied the over-whelming majority of Zimbabweans the dreams and aspirations to gratify the insatia-ble appetites for absolute power and wealth of the few ruling elite.
“Only God knows. I am not losing any sleep over that. Even President Mugabe al-ways says that leaders come from the people,” was a coy reply when she was asked if she planned to stand as a presidential candidate in 2018.
She knows that she has remained in offices all these years only because Zanu PF rigged the elections and now since she was kicked out of the party, she would have to win free, fair and credible elections. No doubt, the fist-size brain has not yet real-ized that she will not be on the vote rigging side this time – even after her own first-hand experience as victim of rigged electoral process after last year’s party elec-tions!
So she really thinks the nation would be so stupid to elect her in free, fair and credi-ble elections; the same individual who has sat in the Zanu PF government for 34 years and never spoke a word against all the mismanagement and corruption that has destroyed the nation’s economy leaving millions out of work and destitute.
Mai Mujuru and her late husband are amongst some of the wealthiest individuals in the country. Both had no known talents other than being some of the most corrupt individuals in the country.
She expects the nation to vote for the same individual who sat like a cabbage and said nothing against all the political oppression, the beatings and rapes, the vote rigging and the murder of over 30 000 innocent Zimbabweans.
In a country where 16% or 2 million people are already living in abject poverty as a result of 35 years of criminal waste of the nation’s material and human resources by a corrupt and tyrannical regime of whom she was a very senior member of until a few months ago; she believes the 2 million would be itching for more of the corrup-tion and brutal oppression.
If no democratic reforms are implemented then the Mugabe faction will once again rig the vote and “win” the 2018 elections. If the reforms are implemented and the elections are free, fair and credible then neither the Mujuru faction nor the Mugabe faction of Zanu PF will win the election. So either way Mai Mujuru can dream of re-turning back into office but in practise that will never ever happen!
Auxilia Mnangagwa to Scoop Chirumhanzu-Zibagwe Constituency |OPINION
Auxilia Mnangagwa, the ZANU-PF candidate, is poised to win as the new Member of Parliament for the Chirumhanzu-Zibagwe constituency in a by-election that is coming soon on the 27th of March 2015. Events leading to the run-up to this poll indicate that she is facing minimum threat from all other aspiring opposition candidates for the same post.
Mnangagwa is so conspicuous that she has become a sudden darling for the electorates. She is famous for unrolling a lot of development projects in the constituency which include construction of clinics, refurbishment of roads and schools as well as advocating for a revamp of the social delivery services for the benefit of all people in the constituency among other things.
All her rallies have been commended for being peaceful and her unwavering propensity to preach peace, tolerance and the need to promote the prevalence of democracy in the constituency.
Some opposition candidates are confining themselves to a few perceived strongholds in very few wards like Lalapanzi and Munyati, while their contestant is covering the entire area. The opposition candidates are brewing themselves for an out-right loss as evidenced by their reluctance to make themselves visible.

Tsvangirai’s US visit, waste of time | OPINION
It boggles the mind when the embattled MDC-T leader, Morgan Tsvangirai strives to gain political relevance through touring a number of towns in the country together with his recent visit to the United States of America.
Tsvangirai’s foreign visit was hardly worth it. Reports have it that Tsvangirai went to US with the intention of hunting for funds from his usual donors. It is said that Mr Tsvangirai and cronies were looking for funds that could assist them to stage street demonstrations against the government. Unfortunately Tsvangirai arrived in the US, only to find tables turning upside down. It is also a shame that Tsvangirai did not even meet with any top US government official during his visit. Tsvangirai should understand that the people of Zimbabwe are principled; hence, they will not tolerate their planned street protests.
In addition, MDC-T has no platform to demonstrate against a Government they refused to recognize as legitimate. If Mr Morgan is serious about staging such nonsensical demonstrations, he must go ahead alone, and stop mobilizing innocent people from such bad activities that tarnishes the image of the nation.
It is saddening to note that Tsvangirai has proven by himself beyond any reasonable doubt that he is politically incompetent. His recent trip to the US depicts the true fact that the man has not mastered the art of globe politics yet. It is well known that the US government has no other agenda except enhancing its own interest of regime change and siphoning of mineral resources.
Tsvangirai should be quite aware that there are no good or permanent friends in the world politics except when dealing with a dead one. Honestly, Tsvangirai wasted his time and the little money that he had by flying to US. How can he travel on a business trip, as far as US without placing an appointment with the respective officials that he was suppose to meet? This is indeed a sign of dumbness at its highest form. Tsvangirai’s visit to US was more of a holiday than a formal tour. I think what this man wanted, was just to feel the comfort of airplane seats as well as sleeping in a foreign hotel, a thing that I guess he had missed for a long time.
The US will never solve anything in Zimbabwe. Let Zimbabweans face and resolve their challenges alone. The US has caused a lot of disasters in countries like Iran and Afghanistan. In fact, this foreign western government has done more harm than good in all countries that it had intervened. Surely, what kind of a new Zimbabwe does Tsvangirai think the US intends to build? Mr Tsvangirai should therefore, wake up and smell the coffee before its too late.
What Tsvangirai is fighting for currently, is seeking political relevance. Most of his supporters have ceased to adore him after realizing the weakness that this man has. Tsvangirai’s leadership has been questioned for a number of weaknesses among them ineptitude, erroneous judgment and indecisiveness. These weaknesses are evidenced by numerous incidences where the MDC-T has ended up in losing political ground.
Recently, Tsvangirai visited the family of the abducted Itai Dzamara in Glen-View. It is now close to three weeks since Dzamara went missing. I wonder on what capacity did this MDC-T leader went to Dzamara’s residents? Unquestionably, Tsvangirai could have stage managed this Dzamara’s disappearance for him to gain political ground through accusing state security agents. I am quite sure that there are a number of political activists who disappeared years back, and then my question to Tsvangirai is clear, have you ever bothered to visit or even assist any family of those people who were affected?
Mr Tsvangirai should be a principled leader if he wishes to be respected by his followers. A good leader must lead by example in whatever he does.
Dzamara Horror Shots as Soldiers Attempt to Abduct Happymore Chidziva.
As if the abduction and kidnapping of Itai Dzamara is not enough, the regime is at it again.
Yesterday around 1800hs in the evening, at a Total garage (Harare) – a stone’s throw from the Zanu PF national Headquarters there was an attempted abduction and kidnapping of the MDC T National Chairman Happymore “Bvondo” Chidziva.
Whilst filling up at the garage, Bvondo was with his driver and aide in a branded MDC T vehicle when a blue VW golf registration number ACA3738 pulled up with five menacingly armed soldiers who tried to abduct him trying to force him into their vehicle.
An altercation ensued which resulted in Bvondo sustaining multiple injuries to his body for which he received treatment at a private health facility in the capital.
Speaking through pain, Bvondo reiterated his commitment to the struggle for a new Zimbabwe, “Mugabe is simply trying to start an uprising. Why are innocent and law abiding citizens being provoked? The soldiers simply attacked me for driving a branded vehicle and they hauled the imprintables about President Tsvangirai. I appeal for calm and peace amongst the Youths as we will soon bring the dictatorship to its knees through peaceful and democratic mechanisms.”
MDC T Harare Province Youth Assembly Chairman Gorekore and his executive attended the scene where the attempted kidnapping of Chairman Bvondo happened. Addressing journalists, Harare Youth Spokesperson narrated the ordeal the movement and the assembly in particular is operating under, “We are under siege as the MDC T Youths. Our Youths are being brutalised on a daily basis. Since we held our star rally in Highfield, the regime is a state of panic, Dzamara was abducted, today the y wanted to assassinate Chairman Chidziva – Kambuzuma, St Mary’s – the violence is just too much.”
The MDC T Youth Assembly is on high alert; it seems the systematic , state sponsored and managed assassination plots against its leaders are now in full swing.
Brian Dube the National Youth Spokesperson has since released a statement bemoaning and condemning the uncivil and unstatemanlike behaviour of Mugabe and Mnangagwa.
The leaders of the Youth Assembly across Zimbabwe have expressed shock at the cowardly regime that now seems determined to exterminate influential members of the Assembly. Sekai “Mchaina” Marashe, the Midlands North Youth Chairperson had hard words for Mnangagwa whom she is sure is being these diabolical abductions and assassination plots, “Bvondo has done much for the Midlands and he led the emancipation of Kwekwe. Mnangagwa was left with an egg on the face hence he is now resorting to these brutal and cowardly gimmicks to silence our leader. Bvondo has over five million youths under his command and truly we will not fold our hands as the merchants of evil attempt to decimate the democratic brigade.”
In Matabeleland South, Youth Chairperson spoke from Matobo Tshatshani where the Youth Assembly is fighting on the side of the villagers who are in the process of being evicted by a CIO operative, Machemedze. “We are overwhelmed by the decaying and collapsing economic, social, political and judicial infrastructure in our beloved Zimbabwe. As I speak I am surrounded by villagers who are being made homeless by one settler who deems himself super – human and above mortal laws. A few days ago, we were entangled and busy with the villagers whose livelihood were disturbed and destroyed in a similar manner by agents of the same evil at Maleme. As the Youth Assembly, we remain grounded within the people and we are optimistic that President Tsvangirai will without fail unshackle our country from this rotten governance culture. The attack on Chairman Bvondo gives us the resolve to continue fighting. We give glory to God who failed the assassination plot.
There seems to be a spirited and highly mechanised and funded attempt to abduct and assassinate leading members of the MDC Tsvangirai especially the Youth Assembly. Popularity ranking for Dr. Morgan Tsvangirai has peaked and Mugabe and his cronies seem to have resorted to violence in a bid to cow Zimbabweans into submission. – MDC
Kombi Crushes Into Train: 7 Lucky to Be Alive
Seven people escaped death by a whisker when a commuter omnibus they were travelling in collided with a train at a rail road intersection in Banket Tuesday morning.
The commuter bus was dragged for about 100 metres. The seven sustained injuries, four of them seriously and were rushed to Banket Hospital where they are admitted.
One of the casualties told the ZBC News the accident could have been a result of the commuter omnibus driver’s indecision.
The driver is reported to have first hesitated to cross the railway line before changing his mind in a moment.
Officer Commanding Police Makonde District Chief Superintendant Godfrey Moyo blamed the driver of the commuter omnibus for being reckless and negligent by failing to observe mandatory traffic regulations.
The commuter bus was travelling to Harare carrying seven passengers.
Road traffic regulations compel drivers of heavy vehicles and all passenger vehicles to stop at railway crossing whether the railway line is obsolete or not. – State Media
Chinotimba Woman Gulps Poison as Hubby Pulls-In 2nd Wife
A Victoria Falls nurse allegedly ran amok destroying property before attempting to take her life by drinking poison after her husband brought home a second wife. The woman (name withheld) is lucky to be alive after she was quickly rushed to hospital.
“The incident has really shocked us. We didn’t expect her husband to do that worse still her attempt to take her on life. This all started when his parents visited and he came home with his girlfriend whom he introduced as his second wife.
This did not go down well with her resulting in her destroying property shouting that she was not going to accept the second wife,” said a source close to the development.
The incident has become talk of the town in Chinotimba as residents thronged the house to witness the altercation.
It is not yet clear what type of poison she took but the nurse has since been treated and discharged and returned home where she vowed never to accept her husband’s antics. Efforts to get a comment from the family drew a blank.b metro
We Will Never Harm Mugabe After He’s Quit – Tsvangirai Party
We will do no harm to Robert Mugabe after he has retired this year, Morgan Tsvangirai’s MDC party has promised. The party on Tuesday announced immunity for the President saying that Mugabe can easily retire and needs not to worry about his welfare.
Below was the press statement delivered by the chief spokesman, Obert Gutu:
Speaking at the Kutama Centenary Celebrations in Zvimba on Sunday, March 22 2015, Robert Mugabe openly admitted that he is tired. As if that was not enough, he also stated that he was worried and overworked. The people of Zimbabwe are living in virtual political and socio-economic bondage as a direct result of the ruinous economic and political trajectory that Zimbabwe has taken over the past 35 years, with Mugabe at the helm. The old man is now 91 and clearly past his prime. Most certainly, Zimbabwe has no shortage of younger and more capable leaders who are able to take over from the ailing nonagenarian.
Robert Mugabe is not only the President of Zimbabwe after rigging himself back into power during the sham elections that were held on July 31, 2013. He is also the SADC and AU chairperson. Surely, it is tragic for Africa to burden the old man with such onerous responsibilities when he is in the sunset of his life. The MDC is hugely concerned by Robert Mugabe’s frequent absence from Zimbabwe.
Whilst the economy continues to nose-dive and the public health delivery system has literally gone to the dogs, we have a President who is now permanently domiciled aboard an Air Zimbabwe jet as he hops from one foreign destination to another. It is high time that Robert Mugabe is called to order. It’s either he chooses to enjoy his favourite past-time of flying around the globe or he stays put at State House in Harare and work very hard to ensure that Zimbabwe’s comatose economy is brought back to life. Mugabe cannot and indeed, he should not have it both ways.
While it is apparent that age has finally caught up with Robert Mugabe, the MDC would like to remind Mugabe that he is still free to take the statesman – like decision of immediately stepping down and retire to Gushungo Estates. The MDC is a civilised party of excellence that promises to do absolutely no harm to a 91 year old man who would have retired in order to save his country from continued economic decline and political paralysis.
Unlike the fascist and terroristic faction of Zanu PF that is led by Robert Mugabe, the MDC is a people – centred political organisation that will not persecute and harass Mugabe should he choose to immediately retire and retreat to Gushungo Estates.
Zimbabwe is at the cross-roads. The majority of the people are living in penury and grinding poverty. The current rain season has been erratic and it is now pretty obvious that millions of Zimbabweans will be in need of food relief starting from the end of May, 2015. The Zanu PF regime is totally bankrupt and is clearly unable to raise the money that now urgently required to import maize in order to avert massive starvation throughout the country.
The biggest challenge facing Zimbabwe today is the lack of political legitimacy. We have a renegade and insipidly corrupt regime that can only drive Zimbabwe into a socio-economic and political hell-hole.
No Africans Allowed In Chinese Restaurant | VIDEO
A Chinese restaurant owner could go to jail after setting up a ‘no black Africans’ establishment in Africa.
Darker skinned people are not allowed to go to the restaurant in Nairobi, Kenya, after 5pm because, the owners say, they might be terrorists and Chinese patrons may be scared of them.
‘We don’t admit Africans that we don’t know because you never know who is al-Shabaab (a Somali terror group) and who isn’t,’ Esther Zhao, co-owner of the restaurant, told Kenya’s Daily Nation newspaper.
She added: ‘It is not like it is written on somebody’s face that they are a thug armed with a gun.’
An exemption is made for several Africans who are ‘loyal customers’, but this is not enough for most people who say the rule is racist.
The hashtag #noblacksallowed has been started on Twitter in protest at the restaurant.
‘How woud the Chinese feel if a #Kenyan goes to China & opens a “No Chinese” restaurant that allows ONLY Blacks, Whites Etc? #noblacksallowed,’ wrote @Barsawad.
Officials have today charged co-owner Zhao Yang with not having a licence, which is widely seen as a way of punishing him for the no Africans rule.
Yang could be jailed for 18 months and be fined a minimum of $1,000 (£670). – Metro.co.uk
Germany to Inherit Zim Debt
The German government says it could adopt the country’s debt and help her recover from the deteriorating economic situation if Harare implements the constitution it adopted two years ago.
The new constitution guarantees fundamental rights, freedoms and democratic principles, which if implemented would result in citizens fully enjoying.
Regional Director for Sub-Saharan Africa and Sahel of the German Federal Foreign Office, Ambassador Schmidt who completes his two day visit to Zimbabwe on Tuesday, says his government stands ready to giving Zimbabwe financial assistance to revive its dwindling economy, if it implements the new charter.
“Should the positive signals in the process of constitutional alignment and economic reform prove to be sustainable Germany is prepared to enter into an open dialogue with the Zimbabwean Government on ways out of the economic crisis, including the burdensome debt problem.
“I came to Harare in this spirit,” said Ambassador Schmidt.
“A successful process of constitutional alignment as well as economic reform will also have positive impact on the improvement of Germany’s economic relationship with Zimbabwe.
“Economic interaction needs legal protection, foreign investors in particular need guarantees and clarity concerning their investments,” he said.
He said apart from guaranteeing foreign investments the new constitution benefits Zimbabwe citizens.
“It’s a new departure for Zimbabwe which would protect individual dignity, grant democratic space and social rights which would see all citizens of Zimbabwe benefiting from a clear and transparent “rule of law” system protecting their political and economic rights”.
Mayor Fist Fight with Workers as Council Dodges Wages
Mayor in near fist fight with workers leader as council fails to settle wages
The Mayor of cash strapped Municipality of Gwanda Councillor Knowledge Ndhlovu is reported to have resorted to a fist fight challenge with Municipal workers union leader Sipho Ndlovu in a meeting to address outstanding wages on Friday evening.
Reports from within the Municipal labour force claim that the Mayor walked over from the podium to the floor challenging the workers leader to a fist fight as talks on five month wages due to the workers were drawing to a deadlock. According to the sources, the Municipality made a settlement plan with the department of labour late last year to clear the outstanding wages by 28 February 2015.
As of close of business on the deadline date council had not paid the workers the outstanding wages. Following the failure by council to settle the wages, the workers union lodged a claim against council at the High Court demanding for the attachment of council movable properties to settle the bill.
On receiving the court order, council is said to have convened an urgent meeting with the entire council work force where the council offered the workers unserviced high density residential stands in lieu for the outstanding wages. The discussion over the settlement of wages using the stands got hot in the meeting as workers rejected the offer claiming that they can not accept unserviced stands which council valued at over $8000 each.
The workers claim that they not only rejected the stands because of the over valuation by council but they also claimed that they can not trust council to their offer as council has previously made a number of settlement offers which were never fulfilled. The workers further claimed that council was offering the stands as full payment of the wages regardless of how much each person was owed.
In two separate offer letters provided to the media, one employee is owed about $2400 while another is owed $4300 and both have been offered the same size stands valued at $8 340 with $6 000 said to be the cost of servicing the stands. The offer letters warn employees that if they failed to sign and bring the letters back to council by end of business on Monday 23 March the conclusion would be that the worker has accepted the offer. On the other hand there is no provision in the letters for those rejecting the offer which the workers described as tossing a coin with heads on both sides.
The sources claim that when the workers leader, Ndlovu, declined to accept the offer for stands on behalf of the workers telling council to send their offer to the High Court, Mayor Ndlovu lost his temper and threw insults at the workers leader challenging him to come for a fist fight if “he was trying to be difficult and playing MDC politics.” Sources claim that the mayor was so furious as he made his way down the podium pushing away fellow councillors who were trying to stop him. The mayor is said to have been blocked from reaching the workers leader only inches from throwing a blow at Ndlovu who remained adamant that the workers were not signing the offer letters and not withdrawing the case from the High Court.
In previous incidents the Municipality has tried to settle workers wage bill by food handouts whose source was not immediately clarified. The council also tried to lieu the wages by clearing Municipal Rates and Services taxes on workers when it emerged that very few council employees owned houses in the town.
A council official at the council main offices confirmed to the media that indeed council was trying to settle wages the unserviced stands. The official would not be drawn to confirm if the Mayor indeed wanted to fight the workers leader.
Chikwanha Propped New NMBZ Board Chairman
NMBZ has sftly moved to appoint prominent banker Benedict Chikwanha to the chairperson of the group position.
The post will cover its flagship arm, NMB Bank, with effect from Thursday last week, March 19.
A company statement read that Chikwanha is taking over.
“Chikwanha was appointed as non-executive director of NMB Bank Limited and NMBZ Holdings Limited on 31 January 2014.Chikwanha is an experienced banker, with over 40 years’ working experience in the banking sector in various areas including risk management, corporate banking and corporate finance,” the company report officially stated.

Mundawarara joined the NMB Bank Limited and NMBZ Holdings Limited boards as a non-executive director on 11 February 2008 and was appointed as chairman in 2010.
During his tenure, Mundawarara oversaw the recapitalisation of the group through a private placement to three strategic institutional investors and the bank acquiring various lines of credit.
Zimbabwe Swaps Raw Diamonds For Bags of Rice From China and India
Dear Editor,
My heart is heavy with anger after seeing China and India donate rice to Zimbabwe last week and this week respectively amid revelations that millions face starvation.
My biggest question is where is the money from the diamonds that we have been sending to these countries over the years.
After years of diamond mining activity in Zimbabwe by Chinese tycoons , our local communities in Marange are worse off than before. What irks me most is the much publicity the State media ZBC, Herald give to these food donations making itit all front page news.
Three decades after independence we still cannot secure our agriculture and food security. For years Mugabe has prioritised elections, opting for temporary farm inputs like fertiliser bags and 10 kg maize seed handed to each rural farmer in an election year.
If my memory saves me well, this is not the first donation made by India. These countries are not doing us any favour. These donations cannot match the economic deals they enjoy in this country and will not solve our food security. Isn’t it true that when you give a hungry man a fish, you feed him for a day but teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime
It’s pathetic that our foolish ministers accompanied by State media make it such big business to attend and make acceptance speeches for these donations when they should instead be making announcements for funding important projects like the Zambezi Water.
If this government prioritised Zambezi water project to date we could be having a farming green belt criss-crossing the country.
Very disappointed,

Sex Now!, Woman Demands Pleasure From Magistrate in Court
A woman caused a scene in court as she demanded to be fleshly gratified from a local magistrate.
Tarisai Nyamundaya, from Harare was in the Civil Court yesterday begging to be granted an order saying she was sexually-desperate and dying.
The court heard that Tarisai’s husband, Clemence Nyamundaya has been spending time away with girlfriends denying his wife her conjugal rights.
It was not clear if Tarisai is married according to chapter 37 of the Marriages Act.
But she insisted, “I want this court to order my husband to come home and be intimate with me because I am dying for sex.” she said this causing the magistrate to brighten his countenance before the shocked small crowd in court.
Some have claimed that the magistrate’s flesh expanded to the point that he was dis-empowered and could only pass a ruling for counselling.
Tarisai emotionally pleaded with magistrate Mr Trevor Nyatsanza to stop Nyamundaya from visiting girlfriends and to attend to her saying ,“I also want the court to bar him from going to his girlfriend’s house so that he can have sex with me like what he used to do when we got married.”
Nyamundaya was not in court.
Mr Nyatsanza dismissed Tarisai’s application saying this was a domestic case, and the court had no jurisdiction to give such orders. He advised Tarisai and her husband to go for counselling.
Biti’s UMDC Suddenly Dissipates
The popular United MDC, (UMDC) party comprising Welshman Ncube and Tendai Biti formations, has reportedly crumbled.
The union has dissipated following the recall of 21 members of parliament from Biti’s Renewal Team after Morgan Tsvangirai succeeded in removing them from the august house.
The two formations shared similar political-genes having deserted leader Morgan Tsvangirai beginning with Welshman Ncube in 2005, and Tendai Biti nine years later, in 2014. It was hoped that the united front would forge new life into opposition politics after Morgan Tsvangirai’s reputation collapsed following the 2013 national elections.
Sources say that the party has since variously scattered amid bitter infighting for senior posts. These saw the spokesman for Ncube’s wing, Nhlanhla Dube pulling out in an alleged disgruntlement.
One official who commented anonymously said
“It is now history this great project has fallen after starting in good faith, but it was met with some problems and practically we can say UMDC is now dead,” an insider, who declined to be named, said.
“We felt there was a group of people within the MDC Renewal Team who had secretly connived with another clique in the MDC led by Welshman Ncube to grab power without sticking to the roadmap we agreed on at Old Hararians.”
He added: “Some of us felt sidelined and for some time we adopted a wait-and-see attitude. The concept of putting all democratic forces together to fight Zanu PF is not a bad idea at all, but we are against the power grab that had been arranged behind our backs.”
Another UMDC official quoted by a local daily added: “Now, we don’t have a common understanding among ourselves. Others are saying let’s drop the UMDC because of the problems in the MDC while others are saying we should stick to the roadmap.”
But UMDC spokesperson Jacob Mafume has dismissed the reports. “As far as it stands, the agreement is as agreed in the roadmap. There has not been any variations formally or informally,” Mafume said.
“We are actually looking at a bigger coalition with more parties and UMDC was just a starting point. There are no serious problems. There might be issues of clarification, which issues have platforms to be addressed on in the agreement.”
Yesterday, MDC-T members in Masvingo petitioned their provincial leaders demanding the recall of two councillors who crossed the floor to the MDC Renewal Team.
MDC-T Masvingo district secretary Robert Murambatsvina confirmed the development yesterday.
Although he refused to divulge the names of the those targeted, sources said those in the firing line were Godfrey Kurauone (ward four) and Daniel Mberikunashe (ward five).
The two have, however, maintained their loyalty to the mainstream MDC-T party.
“We have written to the party leadership seeking to recall some councillors who won on our party ticket but have since crossed the floor to join the Biti and Sekai Holland-led MDC Renewal Team. We are just waiting for a nod from the party headquarters as we feel they should face the same fate as that of the 21 legislators and Senators recalled from Parliament last week,” he said.
Murambatsvina said if given the go-ahead, the recall would cascade down to rebel councillors at rural district councils in the eight districts around Masvingo province.
MDC-T secretary-general Douglas Mwonzora could not be reached for comment although he is on record saying the party would not rush to recall rebel councillors after Biti and company were expelled from Parliament. ZimEye/Newsday

Cecil John Rhodes’ Grave Under Threat – Tourism Boss
The current wave of protests against the statute of Cecil John Rhodes in South Africa could spill into Zimbabwe, African Sun hotel boss Shingi Munyeza has hinted.
Students, staff and members of the public at the University of Capetown in the neighbouring country are demanding the statue be taken down because they believe “it is offensive”.
The development has seen Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) leader Julius Malema entering into the fray demanding that this should not only apply to the University of Cape Town (UCT) alone, but to all other tertiary institutions in that country.
Commenting from his social networking portal on Monday evening, Shingi Munyeza said he has been watching the developments closely. “Observing with interest the debacle involving the Rhodes statue and UCT students. Wait till they realize his remains are in Zimbabwe,” he said.
Already Rhodes’ grave has been variously vandalised as local war vets threatened to remove Rhodes’ remains and throw them into the ocean. [READ MORE -Rhodes’ Grave Desecrated By War Vets, They Plan To Dump Skeleton In Indian Ocean ]
Meanwhile, Julius Malema has fired shots saying the statue is a symbol of colonialism and must be taken down. He addressed a Human Rights Day rally in Langa at the weekend calling for the statue of Cecil John Rhodes at UCT’s Cape Town campus to be removed.
“It is this EFF which will remove the Rhodes statue at UCT. Rhodes must fall,” he said.
Adding to the controversial statements, the Associate Professor of Sociology, Xolela Mangcu, has told South African media that the statue should have come down a long time ago.
“What is one of the first things that happen in an oppressed society? It happened in Iraq, it happened in the Soviet Union. The symbols of those systems come down, they should have come down a long time ago,” he said.
Cecil John Rhodes a rich businessman who persoanlly carved present Zimbabwe’s borders, was the architect of the colonisation of several nations including Zambia, Malawi, and Zimbabwe while also being involved in controversial politics in neighbouring South Africa.

BREAKING NEWS:Mugabe Loses Own Memory
President Robert Mugabe has been struck with a memory lapse risen into the disturbing fourth level on the Global Deterioration Scale (GDS) scale(READ MORE -GDS) , yesterday Sunday as experts now reveal.
As not only his aides, but also he himself now admits his failing health, Mugabe addressing Kutama mission delegates yesterday, confidently vocalised that his late brother Michael was born 80 years later than his actual birth date.
Yesterday’s revealing development came weeks after the 91 year old, Head of State currently in charge of 15 Million human beings, made several other cognitive blunders including vehemently denouncing his own party saying, “Pasi ne ZANU PF,” and also stating that he lost to his political rival Morgan Tsvangirai by a shocking 73% margin.
“When we failed to, when Tsvangirai got 73 percent of the votes …”, he said before he was embarrassingly assisted by surrounding securocrats in December last year.
Speaking yesterday, Mugabe said, “Michael was born in 1999, then there was Rafael who was born in 1922, and my mother said he never lived long and he died of diarrhoea after six months. I was born in 1924,” he said.
Mugabe also said he was a worried and overworked old man and as a result have many sleepless nights.
According to dementia specialist Catherine E. Myers in her medical journal “Memory Loss and the Brain.” (READ MORE -GDS), patients at level 4 may also deny there is any problem with his/her memory even though it is evident to friends and family.. Other experts say the level Mugabe’s memory loss has reached is absolute.
Meanwhile, the frail-looking nonagenarian also told current and former students that he had arrived late for the event because he had only slept for two hours on Saturday night.
“I want to thank you all for coming. I was disjointed because we came back at midnight yesterday. I had two hours of sleep and … I have the habit that if I have something that worries my mind, my mind; sleeps on it and I constantly jump out of sleep and say is it not time, is it not time. That is why we were a bit late in coming to this function,” Mugabe said.
However, Mugabe — the world’s oldest President did not say what it was that was troubling him.
Among the issues disturbing Mugabe are the rising political tensions in his party, a worsening economy, a sick wife and his own failing health associated with old age.
Memory Loss- Global Deterioration Scale (GDS)
Catherine E. Myers | The Global Deterioration Scale is a global rating scale which is used to summarize whether an individual has cognitive impairments consistent with dementia (including Alzheimer’s disease). Individuals are rated according to a seven-point scale, as outlined below; a score of 4 or higher is usually considered to be indicative of dementia. A score of 3 on the GDS is considered consistent with mild cognitive impairment (MCI); people with MCI are at heightened risk to develop dementia within the next few years.
GDS Rating:
1 = Patient has no complaints of memory deficit; clinician can detect no memory deficit evident during interview.
2 = Patient complains of memory deficit (forgetting names, forgetting where one has placed objects), but clinician can detect no objective evidence of a memory deficit during interview.
3 = Patient shows evidence of mild memory deficit during intensive clinical interview; symptoms include:
patient may have gotten lost when traveling to a familiar location, may forget familiar names, may have problems finding the correct word
family and/or co-workers are aware of memory lapses
patient may have lost or misplaced an object of value
patient may show anxiety and/or deficits in concentration
4 = Patient shows clear-cut evidence of memory deficit during interview with clinician, including decreased memory of current and recent events, decreased ability to travel or handle finances, inability to perform complex tasks. Patient may also deny there is any problem with his/her memory even though it is evident to friends and family.
5 = Patient can no longer handle activities of daily life without some assistance; patient is unable to recall a major aspect of current life such as own address or telephone number, and may have trouble choosing proper clothing to wear (e.g. deciding whether a coat is required).
6 = Patient is largely unaware of all recent events and experiences; may forget spouse’s name, may become incontinent, may show personality changes.
7 = Patient loses all verbal abilities over the course of this stage; patient is incontinent and requires help with feeding and toileting; patient begins to lose basic motor skills (e.g. ability to walk).

Tsvangirai Haunted by 21 Rebels
Opposition MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai “is haunted” by the rebellion of ‘his’ 21 legislators a year later, despite successfully recalling them from Parliament, sources have revealed.
The 21 lawmakers, who include former MDC-T Secretary General and Finance Minister Tendai Biti, were expelled from Parliament last week, after Tsvangirai had requested for their ouster from the House of Assembly because they ditched the party whose ticket put them in the august house.
The former 19 House of Assembly members and two Senators broke away from the mainstream MDC last year April and formed their party ,the MDC Renewal, citing “dictatorial tendencies” by Morgan Tsvangirai.
“Yes we did show them (expelled MPs) that we are the real MDC and indeed the very party which gave them the mandate to represent those constituencies which they were representing, but honestly speaking we are worried about their departure,” a highly placed official within the MDC-T party told ZimEye.com at the weekend.
The rebels include popular activist Solomon Madzore millions of Zimbabweans label Zimbabwe’s Nelson Mandela.
“This has also given the president headache and time to sit down and ponder why such a huge number of senior party officials would revolt.
“It is a great lesson learnt and the party has taken this issue seriously to avoid such developments in future,” they said.
The Tsvangirai led MDC suffered a similar blow in 2005 when a group led by the party’s former Secretary General Welshman Ncube broke away following a disagreement on whether to contest in the senatorial elections or not.
Mugabe Abused Me for Years – Mujuru
FORMER vice-president Joice Mujuru says she bitterly feels President Robert Mugabe used her for years and later dumped her from her senior positions in Zanu PF and government after also loyally serving for 42 years, having started working for the ruling party in the middle of a fierce liberation war at a tender age of 17.
Mujuru — who has kept stoic silence after she was unceremoniously booted out of the Zanu PF presidium and state vice-presidency following turmoil which rocked the party ahead of its controversial congress last December — told the Zimbabwe Independent this week she feels betrayed by Mugabe because of how far back they came from and the way she was treated.
Mujuru also feels used and abused by Mugabe, his wife Grace and their supporters who have called her names and hounded her out of her positions amid a political storm and accusations of corruption as well as assassination plots she vehemently denies.
Speaking exclusively to the Independent, Mujuru said she and her husband the late retired army commander General Solomon Mujuru backed Mugabe and other senior party members who arrived in Mozambique from 1975 onwards from prison to intensify the liberation war against Ian Smith’s Rhodesian regime.
“We (together with Solomon, her late husband who was a retired army commander) and others were used as their ladder to the top and now we have been discarded like scrubs (cleaning items),” Mujuru said.
“But I don’t feel hurt by the persistent attacks directed at me by both President Mugabe and his wife because the person they are describing is not me. Actually, I feel embarrassed on their behalf because that is not the way I was brought up.”
Mujuru said she is, however, pained by the way Mugabe and others are treating her after her sacrifices to liberate the country and service in the government.
“I crossed into Mozambique in 1973 to join the war and people like President Mugabe, Edgar Tekere and Oppah Muchinguri later came in 1975 to find us at the front. Everyone knows this, including VaMugabe. The General (Mujuru) asked me to help people like Muchinguri because she did not want to be with us in the camps,” she said.
Despite that Mugabe ganged up with his wife and supporters to attack and abuse her at the height of Zanu PF’s vicious succession battle, Mujuru says she bears no grudge against them and those who ascended at her expense.
Mujuru was replaced as vice-president by Justice minister Emmerson Mnangagwa. Her allies were ruthlessly purged from party structures and government. The witch-hunts continue unabated.
“I have no hard feelings about what they (Mugabe and others) did to be at the top. God made it so … God is the reason why even in pain I smile, in confusion I understand, in betrayal I trust and in fear I continue to fight,” Mujuru said.
Mujuru’s allies, former Zanu PF heavyweights Didymus Mutasa and Rugare Gumbo, however, say Mugabe, Mnangagwa and others rose through blatant subversion of the party constitution and related processes. They are challenging the legality of the Zanu PF congress and its resolutions in court.
Asked what her future political plans are and if she would contest in the next presidential elections in 2018 since many in Zanu PF say she has a huge social base and following, Mujuru said: “Only God knows. I am not losing any sleep over that. Even President Mugabe always says that leaders come from the people.”
After joining the struggle as a teenager and later becoming a cabinet minister at Independence in 1980 until last year when she was unceremoniously fired under a litany of accusations, Mujuru says she did not deserve the brutal attacks and abuse she has been viciously subjected to.
When Mugabe and the likes of Tekere arrived in Mozambique in 1975, she was one of the combatants who helped them settle in amid serious resistance from senior Zanla High command figures led by Wilfred Mhanda.
Mujuru’s husband played a decisive role in enabling Mugabe to take control of Zanla troops and camps as well as the party which at the time was divided and locked in internal strife in an explosive way.
In his book, Dzino: Memories of a Freedom Fighter, Mhanda explicitly narrates how General Mujuru “sold out” so that Mugabe could take over.
“Without that historical ‘sell out’ in Beira, Mozambique, in January 1977, Mugabe and the old nationalist guard might have been relegated to the dustbin of history in favour of Machingura and his Zimbabwe People’s Army (Zipa) ‘revolutionaries’, hardly three years before Zimbabwe’s independence in 1980,” reads part of the book.
It was also General Mujuru’s intervention again in 1978 that saved the day not only for Mugabe and the old nationalist guard, but also for Zanla commander Josiah Tongogara. This was during the purported “coup” attempt led by Joseph Taderera which subsequently implicated the former Dare ReChimurenga members, namely Rugare Gumbo, Henry Hamadziripi and Kumbirai Kangai.
Mujuru says she feels seriously let down by Mugabe whom she did not only support in his ascendancy to the top, but also respected as a father figure and someone who helped her to rise from being a barely literate ex-combatant to a cabinet minister, and later vice-president before her ignominious expulsion.
Last year, Chrispen Mataire, a senior veteran of the liberation struggle who was part of Mhanda group that was barricaded in dungeons until Independence for opposing Mugabe, wrote in the Independent that by 1975 Mujuru was already third in command at Chibavava-Toronga camp where Mugabe and other officials were first introduced to the troops.
When Mugabe and Tekere arrived in Mozambique, they were initially quarantined because Zanla commanders and even the late Mozambican president Samora Machel were suspicious of them. Samora wanted senior Zanla commanders to take over the struggle like he did with Frelimo to become civilian leaders after Independence.
Upon her controversial entrance into mainstream politics during her countrywide “meet-the-people rallies” last year, Grace claimed, among other stinging allegations, Mujuru was corrupt, extorted companies and wanted to assassinate Mugabe.
However, Mujuru this week again intensely denied the allegations, saying they were false.
“I have nothing to do with all those companies. They are just being targeted for nothing. Zanu PF is chasing shadows and groping in the dark for anything they can use to attack and bring me down,” she said.
Mujuru says despite all the attacks, she remains loyal to Zanu PF as she served the party since she was a teenager and was ready to defend herself before its relevant structures or in any court of law so long as due process is followed.
Commenting her relations with Grace and Muchinguri, the main architects of her dramatic downfall, Mujuru said: “I have nothing in common with her (Grace),” adding, “Muchinguri knows the role I played in her life to be where she is.”
Asked what was happening on her alleged corruption investigations, Mujuru said only her accusers and indicters should be able to answer that.
“They (Mugabe and Zanu PF) should have an answer to that question. Why would they be scared of an ordinary, simple widow like me to whom they can say whatever they want when they want to?” she said. – Independent
Tsvangirai visits Dzamara family
MDC T President Morgan Tsvangirai today visited the Dzamara family in Glen View in commiseration with their plight following the abduction and disappearance of journalist-cum-activist, Itai Dzamara.
Tsvangirai met Dzamara’s brother, his mother, wife and children and told them the party stood in solidarity with them in this sad hour.
The MDC leader urged the family to continue to place their faith in God and narrated how he was abducted in almost similar circumstances and spent three weeks without anyone knowing of his whereabouts.
“I only resurfaced at a police station after three weeks of brutal torture and harassment,” said Tsvangirai. Tsvangirai later visited the barbershop where Dzamara was abducted, where his barber narrated how two men arrived in a car with a folded number plate.
He said they stormed the shop, identified themselves as police and accused Dzamara of stock-theft before they handcuffed him and bundled him into their car.
The MDC leader said it was ironic that the State was saying it was the MDC that abducted Dzamara when in fact; he was arrested by people who identified themselves as police. He said the MDC held the State culpable and responsible for the whole sordid saga.
Mugabe, 91 pal Drops Dead In Singapore
- Robert Mugabe friend and age-mate dies 91 in Singapore
- Singaporeans, some teary-eyed, flocked to the Istana to leave personal tributes and sign a condolence board.
AFP| Singapore — Singapore plunged into mourning and world leaders united in tribute Monday after the death of Lee Kuan Yew, the iron-fisted politician who forged a prosperous city-state out of unpromising beginnings.
His son, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, issued a statement before dawn announcing the passing of his 91-year-old father at the Singapore General Hospital following a long illness.
He declared seven days of national mourning until the former leader is cremated on March 29.
“He fought for our independence, built a nation where there was none, and made us proud to be Singaporeans. We won’t see another like him,” the prime minister said in an emotional televised address.
Lee’s remains will first be taken to the Istana state complex for a two-day private family wake before lying in state at Parliament House.
Singaporeans, some teary-eyed, flocked to the Istana to leave personal tributes and sign a condolence board.
US President Barack Obama led world leaders in hailing Lee, who turned a small territory lacking its own natural resources into a world player in finance, trading and shipping — all the while with a heavy political grip that was long decried by rights campaigners.
“He was a true giant of history who will be remembered for generations to come as the father of modern Singapore and as one of the great strategists of Asian affairs,” Obama said in a statement.
China lauded Lee’s “historic contributions” to their relationship after the Communist leadership embarked on dramatic economic reforms from 1978.
President Xi Jinping said Lee was “widely respected by the international community as a strategist and a statesman”.
Tributes also came in from a host of international leaders including UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the prime ministers of Malaysia, Britain, Japan and Australia.
Lee, whose health rapidly deteriorated after his wife of 63 years, Kwa Geok Choo, died in 2010, was in hospital for nearly seven weeks with severe pneumonia.
Two years before he died, Lee revealed that he had signed an advance medical directive instructing doctors not to use any life-sustaining treatment if he could not be resuscitated.
He served as prime minister from 1959, when colonial ruler Britain granted self-rule, to 1990, leading Singapore to independence in 1965 after a brief and stormy union with Malaysia.
Singapore now has one of the world’s highest per capita incomes and its residents enjoy near-universal home ownership, low crime rates and first-class infrastructure.
The opposition Workers’ Party, whose leaders were among those harried for years by Lee under his authoritarian rule, joined the rest of the nation of 5.5 million people in mourning him.
“His contributions to Singapore will be remembered for generations to come,” it said in a statement.
On the diplomatic front, Lee’s counsel was often sought by Western leaders, particularly on China — which he identified early as a driver of world economic growth — as well as more volatile neighbours in Southeast Asia.
Singapore-based political analyst Derek da Cunha told AFP that “Lee Kuan Yew gave Singapore an international profile completely disproportionate to the country’s size”.
But the Cambridge-educated lawyer was also criticised for jailing political opponents and driving his critics to self-imposed exile or financial ruin as a result of costly libel suits.
Singapore strictly controls freedom of speech and assembly. While it has become more liberal in recent years, it still uses corporal punishment and ranks 150th in the annual press freedom ranking of Reporters Without Borders — below Russia and Zimbabwe among others.
Phil Robertson, deputy Asia director of Human Rights Watch, acknowledged Lee’s economic legacy but said “it also came at a significant cost for human rights”.
He said it may now be time for a national “conversation” on greater political liberalisation.
Lee stepped down in 1990 in favour of his deputy Goh Chok Tong, who in turn handed the reins to the former leader’s eldest son Lee Hsien Loong in 2004.
The People’s Action Party (PAP), which was co-founded by the elder Lee, has won every election since 1959 and currently holds 80 of the 87 seats in parliament.
Lee retired from advisory roles in government in 2011 after the PAP suffered its worst poll result since it came to power, getting only 60 percent of votes cast amid public anger over a large influx of immigrants, the rising cost of living, urban congestion and insufficient supply of public housing.
In his last book “One Man’s View of the World”, published in 2013, Lee looked back at his remarkable career and concluded: “As for me, I have done what I had wanted to, to the best of my ability. I am satisfied.”
Block Shona Products from Entering Bulawayo
Bulawayo – In a latest tribal scuffle, unemployed youths in Bulawayo are calling for the removal and banning of all Shona manufactured products and replacing them with their local Ndebele labels.
Addressing journalists at Bulawayo press club, Zenzo Nyoni, Chairperson and leader of Bulawayo Youth Unemployment Agenda, said they are now calling for the removal of all Shona manufactured products like mahewu, juice drinks and freezits.
“We are going to make sure all companies bearing Shona names must be sent back to Harare, as they are making money at the expense of Bulawayo youths and Ndebele speaking employment seekers. We want companies that open their doors in Bulawayo’s industrial areas and employ 100% local Ndebele youths and school leavers. We will not allow anyone from outside Bulawayo to be employed in our mother land of Mthwakazi state, at the expense of our own job seekers,” he said amid grumbling from the addressees.
“We are also going to demonstrate and march in the streets of Bulawayo, calling all our people to drive out Ndebele blood suckers, who make money in our back yard at our expense,” added Nyoni.
Allan Mlalazi who identified himself as a culture representative, from ZAPU, added fuel on the already burning situation by talking about the 1979 Shona grand plan. “The Shona speaking people planned in 1979, to disempower all Ndebele speaking people and their community. They also deliberately ignored building schools and improve industries to impoverish the Ndebeles. They raped our women and daughters, thereby affecting us by cohabiting with Ndebele speaking Shona children,” he said.
Mthwakazi State president Mqondisi Moyo, also acknowledged that they will not rest until all Ndebele speaking youths and community are empowered by the reopening of the industry. “We will visit all companies opening in Bulawayo to employ Ndebeles and not to bring their Shona speaking workers here.
However a Bulawayo businessman Mr Misheck Moyo, threw back the blame of industrial woes to the former Minister of Industry Prof Welshman Ncube who he said failed to turn around the tables for Ndebeles during his tenure as the influential commercial gatekeeper.
“David Coltart successfully improved Education Ministry, while Ncube kept bickering. I think Mlalazi, Zenzo and Mqondisi must look themselves in the mirror before driving away their possible employers in Shona labels,” he said.
MDC-T Backs Temba Mliswa
MDC-T members in Mashonaland West Province have threatened to rally behind former Zanu PF provincial chairman Temba Mliswa and help him retain the Hurungwe West constituency in a by-election scheduled for June 10.
Mliswa, who was recently expelled from Zanu PF and Parliament alongside former Presidential Affairs minister Didymus Mutasa for taking President Robert Mugabe to court, wants to contest the by-election as an independent candidate.
He has also filed a court challenge seeking to block the by-elections.
MDC-T provincial organising-secretary Wilson Makanyaire said although his party had resolved to boycott the polls citing an uneven playing field, the province had agreed to back Mliswa in order to prevent Zanu PF from reclaiming the constituency.
Besides the MDC-T, war veterans and traditional leaders in Hurungwe West people have also vowed to stand by Mliswa in the by-election.
“I call upon all forces of reason to form a provincial political coalition to reject President Mugabe from his backyard. We must support the candidate who has an advantage over others against Zanu PF and in this case it is Mliswa,” Makanyaire said.
He blasted Zanu PF officials of unleashing a terror campaign in Hurungwe West ahead of the by-election.
“It’s sad that the expulsion of Mliswa has brought new terror as known innocent supporters known to be MDC-T and those who back Mliswa are being victimizsd,” he said.
Contacted for comment, MDC-T spokesperson Obert Gutu, however, said the party was still bound by its congress resolution not to participate in any elections before implementation of key electoral reforms.
“I talk on behalf of the party and the position of the last congress is very clear that we will not participate in future elections until and unless there are electoral amendments. Only the national council can overturn that . . . I don’t want to say my own thoughts in case I’m misunderstood.” Gutu said.
Mliswa said he could not comment on the matter as it was still before the courts. – Newsday
Mugabe Blows Up 70,000 Litres of Jet Fuel
PRESIDENT ROBERT MUGABE is today blowing up an extra 70,000 litres of jet fuel as he flies away to Algeria.
The cost of the fuel is circa $1 per litre meaning Mugabe’s trip aside allowances will gobble close to $100,000.
On the trip Mugabe is taking with him a large team of intelligence and government agents.
The State Media has claimed that Algeria is paying for Mugabe’s visit.
A State Media apologetic stated at the weekend, “State visits are considered to be the highest expression of friendly bilateral relations between two sovereign states and discussions centre on networking and developing economic, cultural and social links.
“At the end of a State visit, the foreign Head of State traditionally issues a formal invitation for a reciprocal State visit by the host.”
Mugabe and his delegation are visiting Algeria at the invitation of Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, the State Media report furthered.
Foreign Affairs permanent secretary Ambassador Joey Bimha yesterday confirmed the State visit, saying Zimbabwe and Algeria had a long history of co-operation in various fields including economic, political and education sectors.
“This State visit is in view of the strong political relations that we have with Algeria,” he said. “We have also been working together in education where we have students from here studying in Algeria.
“The economic co-operation needs to be enhanced by identifying other areas of working together and it is hoped that the State visit will give us an opportunity to enhance the economic co-operation.”

Grace Mugabe Set to Take Biti’s Parly Seat
Zimbabwe’s First Lady Grace Mugabe is set for “MDC rebel” Tendai Biti’s Harare East constituency parliament seat, a report says.
Last week’s recall of 21 Biti’s Renewal Team MPs has created an opportunity for Grace who has never been in politics, to contest Harare East and Zanu PF officials Godwills Masimirembwa and the Godfrey Gomwe-led provincial youth wing — are eager to please the First Family having already started moves to usher Grace in.
Full Report by The Standard:
Zanu PF hawks have reportedly started pushing for First Lady Grace Mugabe to contest the Harare East constituency, formerly occupied by MDC Renewal secretary general Tendai Biti.
This comes amid predictions by analysts that the MDC-T dominance in urban seats was under threat as Zanu PF was working on grabbing the opposition seats following the recent dismissal from Parliament of 21 MDC Renewal MPs.
The Standard was told, the recall of 21 Renewal Team MPs has created room for Grace to contest Harare East and speculation is that she is amenable to the idea.
Zanu PF officials said the Godwills Masimirembwa-led Harare provincial executive and the Godfrey Gomwe-led provincial youth wing — eager to please the First Family — had already started moves to approach Grace to convince her to stand in Harare East.
Grace, who is the party’s Secretary for Women’s League, was now reportedly ready to become the Minister of Women’s Affairs, currently vacant after Oppah Muchinguri was moved to the Higher Education portfolio.
“We are being told the move to urge Grace to contest the Harare East seat is being pushed by Harare province. But on the other hand, we are also seeing the First couple’s own aides and a few other party heavyweights quietly toying with the idea of her contesting,” said a senior Zanu PF official.
“So at the moment it is not yet clear whose idea it is, whether it is Grace herself or other people bootlicking the First Family.”
Zanu PF national commissar Saviour Kasukuwere yesterday could neither confirm nor deny Grace’s interest in Harare East.
“Is that what you want to speculate? Anybody in the party can be a candidate anywhere,” Kasukuwere said curtly.
Masimirembwa also said the province had not started the identification of candidates yet.
“We don’t have candidates for the seats in Harare yet as we wait to get direction from the national leadership. We want their direction on the matter,” Masimirembwa said.
Grace’s candidature, insiders say, cannot be ruled out as speculation has been high since December that she would join her husband’s cabinet after her ascension into the politburo. However, her handicap has been her lack of a parliamentary seat which is a pre-requisite for one to be a minister under the Constitution.
Grace was last year endorsed as Zanu PF Women’s League boss after she was reportedly approached by the then outgoing Muchinguri executive and war collaborators. But it turned out that Grace herself, with the support of a few party hawks, engineered her political rise which coincided with the fall of former Vice-President Joice Mujuru.
The former VP was viciously attacked by Grace who accused her of corruption and of trying to topple Mugabe. The First Lady has rapidly grown to be the kingmaker in Zanu PF following her appointment as the Women’s League boss at the disputed December 6th national congress.
Other seats to be contested include Harare East, Kambuzuma, Kuwadzana, Glen View South, Dzivarasekwa and Highfield West.
Zanu PF officials yesterday said the party was determined to get all the seats in Harare and will leave no stone unturned to achieve this.
“If we managed to get Epworth, Mt Pleasant and Harare South in 2013, what can stop us now? We will get all the seats this time around,” said an official.

WATCH VIDEO: Dead Man Raised Back to Life ?
GERMAN Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke in the below interview joins the CBN’s Pat Robertson to discuss the resurrection claim. FULL REPORT:
PAT ROBERTSON: The Bible says that before the throne of God there will be this vast multitude from every people and tongue and nation. And we are seeing a multitude that no man can number. It is a great pleasure to welcome back to The 700 Club a dear friend, a man who is speaking to more people face-to-face, I believe, than anyone else in history. Reinhard, it is a delight to have you with us.
REINHARD BONNKE: Thank you, Pat.
ROBERTSON: I understand that in Nigeria, you haven’t seen nine million in your crusades; you had nine million decisions for Jesus.
BONNKE: Yes at the last five crusades, every crusade is five days. From November of last year to March of this year, we had 9,120,000 registered decisions, people completing the decision card. We counted the decision cards: 9,120,000 in five months. Next year instead of five crusades, I want ten crusades, and so instead of having 10 million, we will have 20 million souls for Jesus.
ROBERTSON: You just have never seen such numbers. In India 1,200,000 is the vastest crowd I have ever seen assembled. It was unbelievable.
BONNKE: It is awesome. It is an ocean of humanity.
ROBERTSON: What is God saying to you about Africa? I know you have a call to Africa. Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa. What is He saying to you? The fire of revival is burning like never before.
BONNKE: Yes. Nigeria has its problems, nobody denies that, but there is a surge of spiritual, I would say, Christian dynamics that are awesome. We are not at all with our back to the wall, not at all. I mean, it just moves like a mighty ocean wave of freshness and strength and power. Jesus saves. We see testimonies like this man coming back to life.
ROBERTSON: I want you to tell us about him. He was in one of your meetings. He was hit by a car. I understand he was stiff and rigormortis had set in. I don’t know if they had embalmed him or not.
BONNKE: They did.
ROBERTSON: He had been embalmed?
BONNKE: He was embalmed, but not the way it is done in America with the removal of organs. They injected chemicals into the body to slow down decay, since there was no refrigeration.
ROBERTSON: So what happened?
BONNKE: His wife was one with a promise from God that woman have received back the dead by resurrection. She said, ‘My husband will come back, and I have heard Reinhard Bonnke is in Onitsha this Sunday I will bring him there. She brought him there. I was preaching and I knew nothing about it. Suddenly, the man started to breathe. His story is awesome and what he was shown while he was in eternity.
ROBERTSON: Tell me, what did he see?
BONNKE: An angel took him to show him Paradise. He showed him the mansions that are waiting for the saints. And he showed him hell. He saw the people in hell. He said one shouted to him, ‘I was a pastor and I stole money. Help me to return the money.’ He said it was so frightening to him that the angel turned to him and said, ‘The prayer of the rich man in Luke 16 will now be fulfilled, and you will be sent back to earth as a last warning to this generation.’
ROBERTSON: For those who are not aware of that, in Luke 16 the rich man lifted up his eyes in torment and said, ‘I have a number of brothers. Let me go back and warn them.’ Father Abraham said, ‘No, they have Moses and the prophets. If they won’t believe them, they will not believe the one who rose from the dead. Now, he says that in this last day, he’s going to be the one? He has come back?
BONNKE: He has come back. People who see this video [Raised from the Dead] are getting saved by the thousands. I hear reports from across the world. It is such a powerful tool of evangelism and we are absolutely delighted. I wish I could have produced Pastor Daniel here today.
ROBERTSON: We tried to get him through customs, but it is so tough in America to get a visa in this country. We couldn’t get him in. You say he saw hell. Were there fires? Torment?
BONNKE: He said he saw no fire but he said he saw these people cannibalizing themselves. Every time they had done it, the flesh seemed to jump back to the same places and then the torment started again. He said it was so horrible. He came back and said, ‘Heaven is real. Hell is real. Become serious with God. You need to be saved by the blood of Jesus Christ and live a holy life.’
ROBERTSON: I want to stop right now, ladies and gentlemen, and ask, where are you in the Lord? Are you playing games with God? Where are you with God?
Reinhard, give this audience a word about how they can come to Jesus. We will talk more about these crusades, but there are people right now who need to be spared from hell.
BONNKE: It is true. I would say it this way. We have to say ‘yes’ to Jesus. Many have done that, but when saying ‘yes’ to Jesus, we must say at the same time ‘no’ to sin. Otherwise, that ‘yes’ to Jesus is invalid. We cannot walk in two directions at the same time. If we do, we fool ourselves. That would be very terrible, like that pastor that was witnessed there. Say ‘yes’ to Jesus from the bottom of your heart and turn around from unrighteousness. Repent of your sins and receive forgiveness by the blood of Jesus Christ Then walk the path of righteousness. Whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Let’s pray together right now. Pray ‘Dear Lord Jesus, I say ‘yes’ to you and ‘no’ to sin. Forgive me of my sins. Wash me with your precious blood. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus. In Jesus name, amen.’
ROBERTSON: Amen. Those who prayed with Reinhard call us at 1-800-759-0700 and we will send you a free booklet called ‘A New Beginning.’ We want you to be established in the Lord. And whether you want literature or not just call us and say that you prayed. Hell is real. Hell is real. The Bible talks about it and Jesus talks about it. What that man was saying, Reinhard, was that it wasn’t so much literal flames, but the flames of missed opportunity and the anguish of conscience. And these people are gnawing on their own flesh because they hate what they have done so much they are trying to destroy themselves but they can’t?
BONNKE: All accused themselves. They didn’t blame anyone else. He said that they didn’t see the angel next to him. They only saw him and were calling for help. The angel turned around and said that Daniel would be connected to me and that through me this testimony would be spread across the whole world. Suddenly Daniel gasped for air in the church. He was there in the basement while I was preaching upstairs, ‘In the name of Jesus!’ It is awesome. I mean that story has covered Nigeria, Africa, and the world.
ROBERTSON: I am sure this man was not learned in the Bible, but the Apostle Paul says your own conscience will either excuse or accuse you in the day of Jesus Christ. So their own conscience was their accuser. They were accusing themselves?
BONNKE: Yes. Yes they do.
ROBERTSON: They weren’t covering up anymore. A pastor had been stealing money. He was essentially a fraud and a hypocrite and he was in hell crying out for help?
BONNKE: Yes.
ROBERTSON: But there is no help. Once they are there, they are there. It is permanent.
BONNKE: That is so. You know, you mentioned about the missed opportunity.
ROBERTSON: Oh, dear!
BONNKE: They keep on missing it because there is no opportunity.
ROBERTSON: What did he see in heaven?
BONNKE: He saw the saints worshiping. He said it was so wonderful he wanted to enter that place. My question to him was ‘Did you see Jesus?’ He said there was a white, bright light and all of those saints were worshiping and looking in that direction. He said, ‘I shaded my eyes, but my eyes could not penetrate it.’ Then he was taken to the mansions. He tried to describe the beauty of those mansions. He said, ‘Like, like, like.’
ROBERTSON: He didn’t have the words.
BONNKE: He said he was told the mansions are ready but the saints are not.
ROBERTSON: Oh, my! Did Jesus or anyone give him a warning for the church? Did he come back and say something to those who are supposed to be living for the Lord?
BONNKE: He had another fearful experience. I didn’t know this Pastor Daniel at all. He said that the angel said to him, ‘If God had not decided to send you back to earth, you would join the people in hell.’ He was shaking.
ROBERTSON: But this guy is a pastor. What was it?
BONNKE: He was a man who didn’t live right.
ROBERTSON: So he was a fraud.
BONNKE: He was not living right. He now lives right.
ROBERTSON: But if he hadn’t had that experience, he would have joined those in hell?
BONNKE: That is what he was told.
ROBERTSON: Oh, my goodness! That, Reinhard, is a much tougher standard than we are used to. We are thinking here in America of easy grace and I am a good guy.
BONNKE: My own television team that made that video said they couldn’t sleep for three nights and everybody brought their lives up to standard, the standard of the Word of God. It brought a lot of heart searching.
ROBERTSON: Did this man have a chance to speak his testimony to that multitude that came to hear you?
BONNKE: He was at my crusade. It was fantastic. I had him in Vienna. At the same time, while I had my meetings there, there was an esoteric convention there. When they heard that someone had come back from the dead, they love to hear the voices from the dead, and s they said, ‘Can you not address us?’ He went to speak to them, preached, and made an altar call and 50 witches got saved.
ROBERTSON: This is incredible. Do you have a video?
BONNKE: It is right here [Raised from the Dead]. So many pray for their loved one. This is a step further. This really is a call to salvation that is very urgent.
ROBERTSON: I am inspired having you with us.
PICTURES: Mysterious Fires Continue Ravaging Family’s Homestead
A family in Palapye has been left homeless and poor by bizarre fires that continue to wreck havoc in their home.
The fires have destroyed all their property leaving with nothing to show.
This week, 47-year-old Mmaseji Willie, phoned The Voice to report that the fires torched her last mattress.
She said the mysterious fires have been causing havoc and destroyed everything they kept in the house.
Narrating their ordeal, she said, “At first we thought a neighbour was burning trash until smoke engulfed the entire house. Our bags and clothes burnt to ashes. The fire came from under the bags.”
Her eyes looking into the distance with despair, she said when the fires first started they managed to rescue some of their property and kept them in their new house which was later gutted by fire.
“We have nothing left. We are poor and have to beg to eat. We even sleep outside to protect the little that is left. We can’t even go into the house because of the smell of the fires. Besides, if we return these clothes to the house, they will burn,” she said.
Pointing at the rubble of their hut which was gutted down by the strange fires, Willie’s daughter, 28-year-old Dikeledi Thapelo, said their hut burnt down in a strange way.
“The fire started from the roof top but we put it out with the help of the neighbours. The second one was so fierce that as we trying putting it off, balls of fire flew to the other side of the roof and gutted down the hut,” she said.
Their ordeal doesn’t end with the fire. Thapelo revealed that her brother died strangely beside the railway line.
“His legs were severed off and we suspect these fires are responsible,” she alleged.
The troubled family has sought the help of Eloyi Church which is popular for exorcising evil spirits.
A day after they went to seek help, another fire broke out.
Left holding her baby by her boyfriend, Thapelo blamed the fires for her misfortunes.
“I suspect a relative who has a vendetta against me. I think she has sent a thokolosi to terrorise us. The fire church which I attend has informed me that all these problems are a result of a problem in the family. Men don’t stay with us. I’m having trouble contacting the father of this baby.” – TheVoice
TB Joshua Dodges Court Hearing Again
Nigerian preacher TB Joshua who was slapped with a bold denial by the Nigerian High Court, has chosen to defy the court order to testify in the investigation into the collapse of a building at his church’s compound which killed 116 people last September.
Joshua has vexatiously evaded the Coroner’s hearing, causing delay on hundreds of grieving families who are waiting to obtain a judicial understanding of what truly went wrong when his giant building collapsed on their loved ones on the 12th September last year.
The incident claimed 116 lives, two of them Zimbabweans who included MDC leader Greenwich Ndanga.
Soon after the disaster, the state government of Lagos launched the inquest through the Coroner’s Court to ascertain why his six-storey building in the compound of the Synagogue Church of All Nations crashed down.
Joshua, lead pastor of All Nations, had claimed that the collapse was the result of an attempt on his life by Islamist radicals. However, government officials believe the collapse was down to construction work that compromised the structural integrity of the building.
The preacher, who is popular in Nigeria for his reported prophetic and healing abilities, attempted to halt the investigation into the collapse, claiming that it was outside of the Coroner’s jurisdiction.
However, a Lagos state court judge dismissed Joshua’s motion on March 6 on the grounds that it lacked merit.
Last Thursday, Business Day Live (BD Live) reported that once again Joshua did not appear at the hearing scheduled before the Coroner’s Court. His representative, Seun Abimbola, told the Coroner’s Court that they have filed an appeal against the state court’s ruling and have also requested a temporary stay on the judgment.
The coroner told Mr Abimbola that he expected Joshua to appear but added that although he could issue a bench warrant for the preacher’s arrest, it was his preference to avoid taking such measures.
“[I] don’t want to do that,” he said.
He told Mr Abimbola to specify a date for Joshua’s attendance at the court.
The Lagos state government attorney told BD Live that they did not receive any notice about TB Joshua’s appeal and that because of this, “the high court ruling stands.” ChristianToday/Additional Reporting
Obert Gutu Has Brain Of a 5 Yr Old – Psychology Maziwisa
One of the worst things that can befall any spin chief is to venture into a contest with someone who is much sharper and more thoughtful than he is. Obert Gutu is, sadly, in this kind of situation today.
I issued a very straightforward statement yesterday in which I made the case for the inclusion of madam Bona on President Mugabe’s trip to Japan recently.
Instead of responding to my statement point by point, as would be expected from a normal spin doctor, Gutu decided instead to go personal, ignoring my argument completely, and doing such a sordid job in his attempt to defend Morgan Tsvangirai’s despicable leadership style.
Of course none of this surprised me at all. There is a certain level of depth, logic, detachment and intellectual capacity that any serious spokesperson must possess. Gutu, for all his nominal claim to the contrary, possesses none of that.
There was a time, not so long ago, when the MDC-T lacked seriousness in virtually every other respect except its information department. For example, Chamisa and Mwonzora were both hopeless souls in the sense that they served under a hopeless leader with a hopeless cause. They still do.
But the common denominator between them, which made things a little more hopeful, was that, no matter how wrong they were in their arguments, they demonstrated a level of wit, brilliance and intellect. They were serious people.
Regrettably and quite evidently, Gutu is the complete opposite of that. Emotional, stupid, intellectually bankrupt and completely out of his depth- he is a 53 year old with the brain of a 5 year old.
He needs to shut up and spend a bit of time learning from the best. Moreover, his miserable attempt at defending Tsvangirai’s wretched leadership record was particularly laughable.
Gutu needs to appreciate that no matter how much lip stick you put on a dog- it still remains a dog.

Biggie Chitengo, Tonde Chabuka nevamwe 5 were swiftly carried by one only identified as “Puzo” to the local hospital following the assault. More to follow as events unfold…
Makandiwa Sucked In $2Million Gvt Donation Scandal
United Family International Church’s Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa, has been caught in a $2 million scandal involving an illegal donation by the government to his church.
Makandiwa and two other churches, have been sucked into a US$2 million storm after receiving Government public viewing area (PVA) television screens in an unsanctioned donation.
Indications are that Government never approved the donation of 40 PVA television screens to UFIC, Celebration Church, Zimbabwe Christian Church and other organisations by the Tourism and Hospitality Industry Ministry.
The ministry has come under scrutiny for its failure to capture receipt and disposal of the television screens in its master asset register.
In her 2013 audit report, Auditor-general Mrs Mildred Chisi said: “In 2010 the ministry bought 40 PVA television screens for US$2 million from China. PVA screens were meant to provide viewing for the public during the (Fifa Soccer) World Cup that was hosted by South Africa in 2010. The PVA screens were received well after the World Cup games. The ministry failed to record the PVA equipment in its master asset register.
“It would appear as if the ministry had no other plans for the screens after the World Cup games because it has since donated, without prior Treasury approval, some of the screens to churches for what was termed ‘religious tourism’, and other organisations.
“The State has not benefited financially from the current arrangement and I noted that there are no terms and conditions to ensure that the PVA screens are safeguarded from vandalism and abuse.” She recommended that the ministry immediately identify how the public can benefit from the PVA screens so that Government can recoup costs incurred in their purchase.
Responding to the Auditor-General’s findings, the ministry admitted it had not followed procedures in donating the screens to UFIC, ZCC Mbungo and Celebration Church.
“It is on that basis that churches such as UFIC, ZCC Mbungo and Celebration Church are key players in religious tourism. They receive an excess of 20 000 foreign visitors annually to their activities,” said the Tourism Ministry.
Both UFIC and ZCC confirmed receiving PVA screens as donations from the Tourism Ministry but would not give further details. UFIC spokesperson Pastor Prime Kufakunesu said the church got the screens in 2012 while ZCC spokesperson Mr Raymond Muringani said “we were given a PVA television screen by the Ministry of Tourism”.
Efforts to get a comment from Celebration Church were fruitless.
Parliament Forces Expelled MPs To Pay Back $1 Million
Parliament has instituted proceedings to force 22 former legislators to repay nearly US$800 000 advanced as vehicle loans during their short stint in the legislative assembly.
Twenty-one MDC-T MPs and one Zanu-PF legislator, Didymus Mutasa, were recently expelled from the House of Assembly and must pay back loans that would ordinarily have been serviced over the course of their five-year terms (2013-208).
Another expelled Zanu-PF MP, Themba Mliswa, was among a few legislators who turned down the US$35 000 per MP car loans extended to them last year.
The 21 ex-MPs from MDC-T were booted out of Parliament because they dumped their party and formed the United Movement for Democractic Change. The uncle-nephew pair of Mutasa and Mliswa was recalled from the House of Assembly after Zanu-PF expelled them from the party for fanning factionalist politics that sought to unconstitutionally remove President Mugabe from office.
Acting Clerk of Parliament Mr Kennedy Chokuda told The Sunday Mail that the expelled parliamentarians should repay the loans.
“The majority of the legislators secured vehicles from that initiative and were supposed to pay back the money during the five-year tenure of the Parliament,” he said.
“When they secured the vehicles under this revolving fund, the legislators signed contracts which stated that they will pay back the money. We are now working on modalities on how these expelled legislators will pay back the money because on average each of the 22 parliamentarians owes us US$35 000. Necessary steps will be taken for us to recover the money since they are no longer in Parliament.”
MPs are yet to start servicing the loans because Parliament has been unable to consistently pay them their sitting allowances. The expelled 22 legislators benefited from a US$12 million deal Government secured with Croco Motors that saw 290 legislators purchase all-terrain vehicles at a ceiling price of US$35 000 per MP.
Parliament – through Treasury – undertook to pay Croco Motors over eight months while the legislators would repay through deductions from their sitting allowances.
Now administrators at Parliament are crafting measures to recover the money. -sunday mail

Tsvangirai Officially Ingrafted Into ZANU PF Constitution
Secret ZANU PF documents obtained Thursday reveal that Morgan Tsvangirai is now part of the ZANU PF constitution body politique.
The leaking of the documents follows the sudden ouster of former vice president Joice Mujuru and most recently the expelling of MPs loyal to Tendai Biti, as ZANU seeks to re-establish its foothold in the country.
One of the documents points to Morgan Tsvangirai and two other opposition leaders as “key to the ultimate implementation.”
The details have been corroborated with ZANU PF’s 28 year old spelt out master goal. It states on Number 6 that; ‘’Zanu Pf shall seek to establish a ONE-PARTY STATE in Zimbabwe.’’
COMMENT:
Zanu never overruled its desire to set up a one-party state in any of its Congresses ever since 1987 and beyond. To achieve its One Party state desire, it has always used all possible means to destroy opposition parties; swallowed its liberation rivalry Zapu after emasculating it through Gukurahundi atrocities. It never took long to get rid of all other parties such as Zanu Ndonga, UANC, ZUM, etc. Before its split in 2005, MDC mounted a spirited challenge upon but Zanu was able use Tsvangirayi and turn him into a dictator that fellow leaders were would not hesitate to run away from. This culminated in MDC now led by Prof Ncube, the then MDC 99 led by Job Sikhala and MDC Renewal. The killer jaw towards its pursuance of a One Party state is its ensnaring MDC T into its fold through the recent sacking of MDC Renewal MPs. Zanu has been campaigning on the ground and displaying its political stamina whilst MDC T was engrained in anger against Renewal leadership.
Maybe Tsvangirayi deliberately handed over these seats to Zanu for all we know is that he never revoked his Zanu membership, or surrendered its membership card. Would it be correct then to assume that Tsvangirayi is still pursuing Zanu ideals whilst pretending to be an opposition leader? If not by choice, still one of the Zanu documents mention how leaders like him and other potential leaders are going to be strategically morphed and moulded into pseudo opposition figures who will maintain hostile faces, yet will be kept perpetually making secret deals with ZANU PF as revealed by its document. Morgan Tsvangirayi’s recent agreement with Prof Moyo has simply proved this. It would be naive to assume that Morgan not aware of Zanu’s long term intentions to establish a one party state because he was one of its middle leaders when the 1987 Unity Accord was signed.
If Morgan Tsvangirayi is really no longer a Zanu member, then the master-script found in President Robert Mugabe’s drawers and leaked yesterday by an insider anonymous whistleblower sympathising with Amai Mujuru, display Tsvangirai as the first trial product now firmly engrafted for the first serious stage of mobilisation. The meeting and agreement with Prof Moyo is a strong indicator that Morgan Tsvangirayi knows and is in agreement with Zanu’s long term goals to set a One Party state in Zimbabwe. He and his supporters may think otherwise, but did they not know that by sacking Renewal MPs they were handing nearly all these opposition seats to Zanu to enable it to turn the country into a One Party state? Indeed Zanu is happy to have a token seats kept by MDC T so that it camouflages Zimbabwe as being a One party state from the nosey international community. Zanu will always point to the pathetically few MDC T MPs as proof that it is a tolerant multi-democratic party.
As said the whistle-blower who availed the Zanu documents; in this Zanu – MDC T agreement that saw Renewal MPs sacked, concluded saying only “President Mugabe is the winner at the end of it all”. Analysts said this is all part of the Zanu /Zapu Unity Agreement that spels out what a united Zanu PF aims to achieve “into eternity”.
ZRP Cop Caught with Shocking Animal-Sex-Videos
An ex-ZRP cop and father of-three was arrested after having been caught with indecent videos of animal to human footage.
Clayton Chigoya who was found with videos of men having sex with large fish and eels was yesterday waiting to discover his fate.
Detectives swooped on the social worker’s home after receiving a tip-off he had received indecent images of children on his mobile phone.
A total of 19 electrical devices were seized including a damaged HTC phone which contained 404 videos on its memory card including seven portraying sex acts with animals.
Other examples of horrific pornography included two sexual scenes with children believed as be as young as three years old.
A jury at Reading Crown Court was told that the extreme pornographic videos portrayed various sex acts with animals including a horse, eels and a large fish.
Prosecuting, Russell Pine told the court two of the animal sex videos had also been forwarded on to other numbers from Chigoya’s phone.
Mr Pine added: “You were part of a group of people who had a similar interest in these sorts of videos weren’t you?
“Is it possible you watched them and thought they were a little interesting and maybe a little bizarre but no harm in it?”
Bald Chigoya, aged 47 years, denied five counts of possessing extreme pornographic images and two counts of possessing indecent images of children.
The father-of-three, of Gatwick Close, Slough, Berks., claimed that he had never seen any of the seven the videos, which were sent through WhatsApp messages.
However, he did admit he had previously watched animal porn films but blamed his faulty phone for receiving and sending messages he claimed he had no idea about.
He said: “They were sent on my WhatsApp. When I saw them, I deleted them but not on this particular phone we are talking about.
“I have never in my life requested any videos with animals. It is not because you want to watch it or request it, it is just sent around.”
However, the jury found Chigoya guilty of all of all seven counts following the three-day trial.
Chigoya, who was suspended from his job working with vulnerable adults and children as a social worker following his arrest, was released on bail to appear at the same court to be sentenced in May.-Express.co.uk
Youths Dump MDC and Join ZAPU.
By Thulani Nkala
The tranquillity in the ZAPU ranks is finally paying huge dividends; today on the 21st March 2015 at ZAPU’s new offices in Bulawayo scores of the MDC Youths dumbed the MDC to join ZAPU.
“We have come back home, we have always known our true home, ZAPU is our true home, we are happy to be back home” said one of the MDC Youths who defected to ZAPU today.
ZAPU has for the past year consistently and painstakingly built its structures and ensured its visibility and this has slowly attracted new members, however, it had not yet attracted enmasse defections till today.
ZAPU has now successfully re-branded itself as a modern revolutionary Party, whose roots are firmly anchored in people power and people aspirations.
People are starting to believe the ZAPU proposition of a firm, unapologetic and uncompromising stance against the Mugabe regime.
“We have carefully calibrated the ZAPU unique proposition to meet the people’s needs, with our modernisation agenda and a huge number of people are warming up to our cause” Mr Christopher Maphosa said.
“It is not by coincidence that you now see large numbers of the people flooding our ranks, it was through deliberate strategic planning” said Mr Maphosa, who was clearly ecstatic due to the MDC Youths defections to ZAPU.
ZAPU is continuing with its activities, in the UK, will see the Party staging yet another demonstration at the Zimbabwean embassy on the 27th March, a third of its nature within a month.
On the 2nd May 2015, the Party will hold its Annual General Meeting at a venue to be announced in the Midlands. The AGM is promising to be the most vibrant and lively gathering since the Party’s revival.
Zimbabwe Indigenization, A Legalized Plunder of National Assets by ZANU (PF)
Last week, Deputy Minister of Industry & Commerce, Chiratidzo Mabuwa just woke up from wherever she had been and reached out for the microphone to intimidate journalists. She had emerged guns blazing against “irresponsible journalism” over negative coverage and discouraging support for Indigenization laws in Zimbabwe. She forgot that she is living in her own little tower far away from the majority of Zimbabweans who feel short-changed after having been left out in the quay by ZANU (PF) that has fought hard to encourage people to think that indigenization means raising chickens in a cage for sale to make profit. Of all possibilities, indigenization has been collapsed into feeding broilers for sale.
And people must celebrate empowerment despite the screaming product shortages and poverty. I wish she knew the truth about the whole circus. Indigenization in Zimbabwe has become synonymous with robbing national wealth to put into the hands of the top 100 people who belong to ZANU (PF). Nothing came out of the Indigenization laws or Black empowerment laws except for the economy was destroyed to nothing. People now live in dire poverty, everything is sinking, farms covetously taken have stopped producing. Even farm workers now go unpaid and the system is in chaos. Mines were confiscated and the farm produce was harvested. After that, nothing else emerged from the so called Black Empowerment.
Where big wig and big headed politicians took over the most productive farms, they then turned around and encouraged youths to rear chickens. That was the empowerment that they were referring to as they sought to blindfold the gullible yand desperate youths. Foreign Direct Investment was quashed. Nothing came to function. Those at the apex of the program got richer and fatter as the wider base was left where it was found without any meaning or benefit in the so called land reform, or affirmative action, or economic leveling. There was no benefit for the common man. Villagers still remain squashed in stony patches of land as production remains challenged. The grazing areas are hounded with erosion. Deforestation and hunger have become the order of the day. In the name of Black Empowerment, all city transit systems have been killed and replaced with the matatus. The dirty kombis. 35 years ago we had a polished city transit system that saw buses run on time with uniformed drivers who stopped the buses at legal spots of loading and offloading passengers.
Then, police had respect because they never openly asked for money or chased kombi drivers killing people just for money. There was no horse play between the police and the public community members. Now we are back in the Neanderthal phase and here we go as we start again. People get killed daily through road accidents or police chasing kombis for bribes. As if that is not enough, police make kombi business their ATM machines that must produce cash by the day. To add more poverty to the already weak and impoverished we now have toll gates. More money for the top 100 politicians like the most absent-minded VP on earth, Mphoko as the whole nation suffers. And that is the very Indigenization the drunken Minister is talking about. She doesn’t even know what time it is in Zimbabwe. If one were to challenge her to point to the benefits of the empowerment program especially to the ordinary person she would be stuck. People have been left poorer. The Ministers now have taken over every profitable venture, mine and factory and destroyed it.
The most productive farms have been taken over and after the first harvest that was never worked for, the farms have died. Cows have become barbeque beef. Nothing is working in Zimbabwe. They claim they gave people power. They should say we gave ourselves power to take over or confiscate anything of value and destroy it. Zimbabwe has been destroyed by this empowerment or indigenization law. Even the President Mugabe can hardly be home. It’s not worth his time because the environment is depressing. That’s why he hops from nation to the next as he rules from the skies. There have been more burdens than benefits. There is nothing good to talk about regarding empowerment. People have been left anxious and angry. The infrastructure is no more. Now they sell elephants to get revenue.
Where are the tourists going to come from when we send the elephants to abroad? Poor planning, lack of foresight, selfishness, big headedness, malice and negligence are part of the Indigenization policy in Zimbabwe. There is gross abuse of political power. Mugabe now owns 85% of Borrowdale. It’s like the gold rush days. Mai Mujuru owns most of the good mines today. Now she claims victim because she no longer eats at the big table like Didymus Mutasa. Every top Minister is filthy rich. Even Mphoko refused a $3 million home in Harare because he felt he deserved a bigger and better one. That’s just the culture. And all this is the very indigenization that Zimbabweans must cheer for and wipe sweat about. Indigenization or Black Empowerment in Zimbabwe was like a legalized plunder or robbery of national assets. There is nothing to celebrate. It’s too chaotic and there is no benefit for me, a poor citizen without political muscle. What’s left to celebrate in Zimbabwe? Maybe good rains. People cry daily about poverty, joblessness, homelessness, hunger, disease. Is this the indigenization or the Black Empowerment. Black Empowerment or Indigenization my foot!
Mugabe Clobbered In Namibia
President Robert Mugabe was on Saturday digitally mocked as he appeared in the Namibian capital, Windwoek for that country’s Presidential inauguration.
Mugabe 91, who appeared alongside controversial Local Government Minister Ignatius Chombo, and Foreign Affairs Minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, had a rushing cold mood cast against him from hundreds of Zimbabweans digitally hovering over the function. Zim citizens commenting closely, poured scorn as they pointed at how Mr Mugabe was conspicuous as the oldest human being in the stadium where Mr Hage Geingob was sworn in as Namibia’s new president.
The inauguration ceremony took place on the same day with the Independence celebrations on Saturday.
“Why can’t he see that he is the oldest human creature in the whole crowd?” wrote one only identified as Sibanda.
Others poured their comments in return echoing one and the same thing with others wishing that this could be Mugabe’s last ever Presidential inauguration.
“Zvatosvika kumagumo izvo this is Mugabe’s last – it is now coming to an end,” wrote a critic of Mugabe only identified as Matthew Kadota.
Meanwhile the new President Geingob (74), became the third president of Namibia in less than 25 years while Mugabe has single handedly hanged on since 1980.
Speaking soon after his inauguration, President Geingob said he will focus on poverty eradication, social inequalities, the economy and improved service delivery.
“People have high expectations. They want food, shelter and clothing. They want a leader to act quickly, thus the must challenges to be met.
“People cannot eat a constitution or democracy and our first priority is to declare war on poverty and inequality. We will have a brand new ministry. The ministry of poverty eradication,” Mr Geingob said.
Earlier, thousands of Namibians and dignitaries from different countries thronged the stadium, for the country’s independence silver jubilee.
Man Bolts Out of Prison Like Lightning
A PENHALONGA MAN incarcerated at the Mutare Remand Prison bolted away from guards “like lightning,” as described.
The man has been slapped with an eight-month jail term after he tried to escape from Mutare Remand Prison. Dangarembize appeared before senior magistrate Mrs Sekai Chiundura facing charges of escaping from lawful custody.
Facts are that on the March 9, 2015 George Masamba, a prison officer at Mutare Remand Prison, was guarding Dangarembize, who was working in the garden with the other inmates.
The accused then suddenly started running and jumped over the fence. They gave chase and re-arrested him near Mutare Provincial Hospital. When asked why he had committed the offence Dangarembize said he was being abused by a certain prison officer who assaulted and gave him unreasonable loads of work.
Mrs Chiundura told him that he should have reported the case rather than try to escape. – State Media
Tsvangirai M’: I Wish I Was Mugabe
Harare Mayor Bernard Manyenyeni has boldly indicated that he wishes he was President Robert Mugabe.
Manyenyeni said ‘dictators’ like President Robert Mugabe, Information Minister Jonathan Moyo and Gideon Gono, were needed to run the affairs of the Harare city council, for service delivery to improve.
“I am talking about a more trusted version of Gideon Gono, a less political version of Jonathan Moyo. That type of personality provided they have the support of everybody. But that person should come out of the following: the Town Clerk, the mayor, the minister of Local Government and if necessary the state President,” Manyenyeni told residents in Harare last week.
“One of those four people should be sincere but powerful enough to call the shots and get the things right. I am happy to support that person whoever he is and I am also happy to be that person”.
Manyenyeni is under fire from residents who accuse him of failing to improve service delivery.
He however attributes his failure to political interference.
The Mayor recently said that there were a lot of political payers interfering with the affairs of the city of Harare.
Manyenyeni also said his Town Clerk, Tendai Mahachi was one of the stumbling blocks to the effective running of the city.
Mahachi, he said, ignores his (Manyenyeni) directives and rather consults with the Local Government Minister Ignatious Chombo.

$12 Billion Diamonds Stolen from Zimbabwe
Customs UK| ZIMBABWE HAS LOST an estimated $12 billion through illegal trade involving multinational companies from rich countries involved in the mining sector here.
The amount siphoned off is enough to pay off the country’s total debt– estimated at just under $10 billion.
A new report, entitled Capital Flight, Natural Resources and Institutions in Zimbabwe and compiled by Zimbabwean researchers and academics, reveals that the multi-billion capital flight has taken place over the last three decades – largely through falsified invoicing.
According to the researchers, trade in the major minerals involves companies from Zimbabwe’s main trading partners, which include South Africa, Canada, Australia, UK, China and the US.
“Capital flight from Zimbabwe reached a record high of $3.1 billion in 2006. Evidence from the African Development Bank and Global Financial Integrity (2013) also shows that Zimbabwe has lost a cumulative $12 billion in the last three decades through illicit financial outflows ranging from secret financial deals and tax avoidance to illegal commercial activities,” says the report.
Furthermore, according to the Minerals Marketing Corporation of Zimbabwe (2014) the country is losing more than $50 million worth of gold every month through smuggling,” it adds.
Independent estimates last year indicated that gold leakages accounted for losses of around $ 800 million every month, a figure that has not been officially refuted.
Zimbabwe is endowed with abundant mineral resources that experts say could easily turnaround the economy, but their contribution to economic development has remained minimal.
The report says the mining sector, despite being touted Zimbabwe accounts for about 9 percent of the world’s diamond production, 6 percent of platinum and about 4 percent of palladium output.
The country is currently extracting around 30 different types of minerals, chief among them diamonds, gold, nickel and platinum, with minerals accounting for most of the exports.
“Most of the metals and minerals mined locally are for the export market. This therefore presents a fertile ground for mis-invoicing – given that most of the companies in the mining sector are foreign owned,” reads the report.
The research indicates that the companies involved in minerals trade have been under-invoicing their goods by bringing less capital into Zimbabwe and then exporting high value minerals to numerous destinations.
The offending companies declare a smaller amount of money they receive from exports than what is reported as imports by trading partners.
They have also been over-invoicing imports, whereby the companies have been accessing more locally available foreign currency and then taking it out under the pretence that it would be used to import goods and service.
The exporters report a larger amount of money they use for importing than what is reported by trading partners.
The report identifies corruption, dysfunctional regulation, weak enforcement of rules and money laundering as the main drivers of capital flight. It also blames the financial leakages on tax evasion, lack of transparency in trade transactions, high and persistent government budget deficits, excessive external borrowing, and political instability.
Canada, China, Germany, UK, Greece, Italy, US and Zambia are named as gateways to facilitate capital flight out of Zimbabwe. Italy recorded the highest capital flight from Zimbabwe between 2008 and 2013 while the highest illegal inflows came through Belgium.
The researchers also blamed President Robert Mugabe’s Look East policy for massive capital flight.
‘”Even the ‘friendly countries’ like China show capital flight from 2010. This might suggest that during the crisis period China was bringing unrecorded capital into Zimbabwe, but as the economy improved China was sending out money from Zimbabwe as illegal repatriation of profits,” says the report.
Developed countries like the US, Germany and Canada could have been used as routes through which money was illegally taken out. The report also notes that diamond export mis-invoicing was rife in trade between Zimbabwe and European countries, including the UK
PICTURES: Sex Scandal Priest and Nun in Manicaland
Vicar General of t St Charles Lwanga in Manicaland Fr Fungai Chipiro says the church is investigating the case of a priest and a nun’s lurid sexual affair.
But he said that the church is not about to rush into any decisions based on media allegations. “As a diocese we are making our own ground investigations. Until we have concluded those investigations, these are just rumours,” he said in a telephone interview.
Father Taurai Saunyama (30) and Sister Rukudzo Rosemary Nyamugunduru (22) forgot their vows to be the dedicated spouses of Jesus Christ and turned to each other for some very human comfort.
The WhatsApp messages, they allegedly sent to each other, show that this is not a case of two innocents who had just been tempted and were in any way regretting the lapse, but a case of seasoned operators.

Pastor Oppah Muchinguri Caught Nakedly Abusing Police Officers
Higher Education and Tertiary Education and church pastor Oppah Muchinguri has been caught in a case of said ‘shocking’ spiritual nakedness when she variously abused police officers working on a case of an arrested ZANU PF official.
The case involves the local ZANU PF provincial secretary for youth who is guilty of operating a detested, said ‘sinful’ beerhall, beyond legal hours.
Muchinguri violated male police officers working on the case as she ordered the immediate release of the accused.
Muchinguri’s pentecostal denomination views drinking or operating a beer outlet, a dreadful sin and the very pivot of spirital nakedness.
But under her lead, ZANU PF youths yesterday besieged Mutare Central Police Station demonstrating against the detention of one of their leaders, the local Newsday reports.
Getrude Mutandi, who is the Zanu PF Manicaland provincial youth secretary for finance, was arrested by police on Thursday night on allegations of operating her bottle store after hours.
Police raided the bottle store and rounded up revellers who were drinking beer including Mutandi, alleging that the bottle store had no licence to operate after stipulated hours.
Mutandi spent the night in police cells and remained detained for the better part of the day yesterday. She was released around 1500hrs without any charge following the intervention of politburo member Oppah Muchinguri who allegedly ordered her release.
Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs Mandi Chimene also allegedly played a role by ordering the release of Mutandi. The youths, who were more than 50, camped outside the police station demanding the release of Mutandi.
Mutare District police chief, Chief Superintendent Winstone Muza, tried to address the youths, but failed to control them.
Muza said to the youths: “This is not a political meeting. Could you please disperse as we look into the matter? We should not come here to disturb peace.” Muza called for reinforcement from other police officers. More than 20 officers came and tried in vain to disperse the youths who were singing and chanting Zanu PF party slogans.
The youths stayed put at the police station and continued singing. They then called other youth members to come and besiege the police station.
UK Police Called in as Zimbabweans Storm, Close Down Embassy Demand Itai Dzamara
Zimbabwe Embassy in London is facing difficult times ahead as operations are likely to be disrupted by Zimbabwean activists demanding the release of Itai Dzamara.
On Thursday a group of Zimbabweans led by William Chinyanga stormed the Embassy demanding the release of Itai Dzamara who was abducted in Harare by men believed to be State agents from the notorious CIO. It is believed the abduction was engineered by the State to dare the opposition parties into open street protests and then use those unsanctioned demonstration as an excuse to arrest the opposition party leaders and activist.
The government is currently facing acute liquidity and economic challenges and is said to be looking for ways to divert attention from its failure to manage the collapsing economy.
ZimEye.com is reliably informed another protest group is preparing to storm the Embassy next week.
Further protests are said to be planned that would force the Embassy to completely close down An activist told ZimEye.com that they would be engaging all other European countries to shut down Zimbabwe embassies within tbeir reach.
Sex With Minor – A Birthday Present
A boy aged 17,appeared in court on Thursday after he allegedly had sexual intercourse with his 14-year-old girlfriend as her birthday present. Enoch Murahwa appeared before Mbare magistrate Anita Tshuma facing charges of sexual intercourse with a minor. Tshuma deferred the matter to today for sentence.
Allegations are that on Februray 20 this year, the girl visited Murahwa’s house.
The court heard that when the girl entered the living room, the maid left the room leaving the two alone.
It is the State’s case that Murahwa entered his mother’s bedroom and called the girl telling her that he wanted to give her a present as it was her birthday.
It is alleged that while in the bedroom, Murahwa started caressing the girl and the two ended up having sexual intercourse once.
The court was told that it was by consent.
However, on returning home the girl told her mother what had transpired and the two went to make a report to the police.
Meanwhile, another teenager appeared before Mbare magistrate Gladys Moyo facing similar charges after he allegedly had sexual intercourse with his 13-year-old girlfriend on different occasions.
Billy Makumbe, 19, pleaded guilty to the charge.
Allegations are that sometime between December 2014 and February this year, Makumbe and the girl were in a relationship.
The court heard that in December the two had sexual intercourse once.
It is alleged that in February the two again had consensual sex three times.
The matter only came to light when the girl’s mother noticed behavioural changes in her daughter.
Upon quizzing her, the girl then revealed to her mother that she had been having sexual intercourse with her boyfriend.
A report was made to the police. -chronicle
Another Key Fugure Quits MDC
Nhlanhla Dube the spokes person for MDC led by Professor Welshman Ncube announced that he had quit his position and resigned from the party. This is a hard blow to the party especially as it comes just a month after other two key figures ,the secretary general Priscilla Misihairabwi-Mushonga and vice chairman Frank Chamunorwa — resigned from their positions.
Dube cited the “callous abuse and character assassination” in the party which had “gravely affected my personal space” as the key reason why had had made the decision.
Dube, like Misihairabwi-Mushonga and Chamunorwa before him, feels Prof Ncube is surrounded by a group of acolytes who have convinced him that a “gang of four” — with party chairman Goodrich Chimbaira being the fourth — would not support him as leader of the United Movement for Democratic Change (UMDC), a new party to be formed through the merger of the MDC and MDC Renewal at a forthcoming joint congress.
Dube was disappointed Prof Ncube did not rein-in some of his supporters who have been launching personal attacks at the four senior officials.
He said in a letter to Prof Ncube, seen by The Chronicle: “I took the opportunity to speak to these unfortunate circumstances and misplaced political agenda at our last meeting of the national standing committee in Bulawayo. I opened myself up to scrutiny with the hope of initiating debate for purposes of transparently dealing with the allegations.
“Sadly there was no appetite to interrogate these matters then. This callous abuse and character assassination has in the meantime gravely affected my personal space. I’m thus unable to continue serving with a clear conscience amidst the contradictions at play.”
Dube said “a lot has been said and insinuated, but by far the most disappointing was the spurious accusation that I have been working covertly in an imaginary group of four members of the party’s leadership, organising a rebellion against your continued and future leadership of the party.”
He added: “No words can adequately describe my very deep disenchantment with the deeds of those people who I believed shared my passion and vision in our common struggle.”
He told Prof Ncube that he believed “taking a back step would allow the party to focus on its important work at hand without unnecessary contradictions and damaging suspicions of fragmentation within the leadership.”
Dube resigned on March 10, but waited until yesterday to make public his exit after Prof Ncube had asked him to wait until he had returned from the United Kingdom. In the interim, Dube spoke to a Prof Ncube emissary who could not talk him out of resigning from his post and quitting the party altogether.
Last night, Dube told The Chronicle that he was “taking a break from partisan politics”.
Before Misihairabwi-Mushonga quit last month, the MDC youth assembly wrote to Prof Ncube calling for her ouster after she described the opposition party as a “junkyard”.
The latest resignations to hit Prof Ncube’s MDC follow the damaging departures of Qhubani Moyo, the party’s former director of policy and research who is taking a sabbatical from politics, and former Bulawayo spokesperson, Edwin Ndlovu, who joined the MDC-T. -chronicle
Former MDC-T MP Wins Spot Fine Case
A judge yeaterday ruled that the business of police impounding vehicles at roadblocks for failure to pay spot fines by drivers is “unlawful”. The ruling was made at Bulawayo High Court by Justice Andrew Mutema as he ordered police to release a car they seized from former MDC-T Lupane West MP Njabuliso Mguni, who had failed to pay a $50 spot fine.
Mguni challenged the seizure of the car through his lawyer, Lizwe Jamela, of the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR).
The police Officer-in-Charge Traffic Section (Bulawayo District), the Officer Commanding Bulawayo Province and the Home Affairs Minister who were the respondents in this case did not oppose Mguni’s petition for an order declaring the police actions illegal.
“The conduct of the respondents be and hereby declared unlawful. The first respondent is hereby directed to release the impounded vehicle, a Toyota Carina registration number AAC4478 forthwith to the applicant upon production of the car’s registration book,” said Justice Mutema.
“In the event that there are any allegations against applicant or the vehicle, the respondents should follow the laid procedures in justice administration.”
Mguni’s brush with the police suggests the ZRP continues to violate a 2012 ruling by Justice Maphios Cheda of the Bulawayo High Court who held that police cannot insist on the payment of a spot fine by the roadside. The judge said motorists should be issued with a ticket to be paid within a reasonable time.
“The said ticket should give the motorist a reasonable time within which to pay the fine in accordance with their regulations, unless the said offender elects to pay the fine on the spot,” Justice Cheda said.
Justice Cheda said an exception could be made where the motorist was a foreigner or had no “acceptable identification which will in turn make it difficult for him/her to be traced in the event of a default in paying the fine.”
In his affidavit, Mguni stated that he was stopped at a roadblock by a police officer while driving along 6th Avenue in Bulawayo’ CBD on March 16. The vehicle belongs to one Thembile Moyo.
The police officer who stopped him advised him that his third number plate was tampered with and for that reason he should pay a $20 fine.
“I was advised that I should pay an additional fine of $20 for an alleged missing rear number plate light and a further $10 for alleged missing front reflectors. This gave a total of $50 in all,” Mguni said.
“I advised the police officer, who was addressing me, whose particulars are unknown to me, that I did not have the said money in my possession. I then requested a ticket to be issued against me so that I would be able to practise my lawful option as I was in no position to pay the fine so demanded.”
The former legislator said his request was dismissed by the officer, who insisted that the motor vehicle would be impounded until he paid the fine. -herald
Zim Cricket Team Loses Vehicles to Pay Debt
A television broadcast van and other vehicles belonging to Zimbabwe’s cricket board have been auctioned on the orders of a court to pay an outstanding debt of more than $200,000 to a former employee.
The outside broadcast van and nine other vehicles used by staff members like the chief executive, the director of coaching, and the head selector, were sold in Harare this week to pay money owed to former commercial executive Andrew Muzamhindo.
Other cars belonging to Zimbabwe Cricket were also auctioned this month.
Zimbabwe Cricket is in serious financial trouble, as is the country’s football federation.
Last week, Zimbabwe were thrown out of 2018 soccer World Cup qualifying for failing to pay money they owed to their former national coach.-AP
Chicken Slice Employs Shonas, Ditches Ndebele JobSeekers
BULAWAYO- A Bulawayo civic youth organisation, Bulawayo Unemployment Youth Agenda (BUYA) has vowed to engage fast food chain Chicken Slice over its employing of people who are exclusively from outside Matebeleland.
Speaking at a press conference held in Bulawayo Thursday, BUYA Chairperson, Zenzo Nyoni said time has come for people of Matebeleland to benefit from resources within their region.
“We want to engage Chicken Slice because we have realised that the majority of its employees are Shona. Our youths are not afforded the opportunity to work and we feel something needs to be done,” said Nyoni.
He also said his organisation will engage different sectors to ensure that youths in Bulawayo are given fair employment opportunities like what is happening to youths from other different regions of the country.
“Youths from Matebeleland are looking for job opportunities in South Africa and Botswana. It is high time devolution is put into practise for the benefit of the youths and the region at large,” he added.
Nyoni also took the event to congratulate people from Maleme community for defending their land against foreigners who wanted to benefit from resources without putting into cognisance the community surrounding them.
He said it is that kind of courage which is needed to arrest the marginalisation and under-development of the Matebeleland region.

Biti Flashes Quitting Politics
MDC Renewal leader Tendai Biti has flashed signals suggesting that he is quitting politics.
Biti according to the Jonathan Moyo controlled State Media, appears to be considering life after politics following the expulsion of 21 Members of his faction, including himself, from Parliament this week. The 21 MPs were expelled at the instigation of the MDC-T led by Mr Morgan Tsvangirai for crossing the floor from the party on whose ticket they entered Parliament.
Mr Biti’s faction has indicated that it will challenge the decision in the courts. A member of his inner circle confided in The Herald, though, that Biti will not be heavily involved in the court challenge.
However, in an interview with The Herald at his Milton Park offices in Harare this week, Mr Biti appeared disillusioned with opposition politics and in particular, failure to coalesce to defeat Zanu-PF.
Clad in a dark grey suit that seemed to reflect his mood, palpable disillusionment ran through the responses of the usually loquacious Biti. “I have played my part as a Zimbabwean,” he said when challenged over his future.
“I have been in the trenches since my time at the University of Zimbabwe and played my part. I think that it is time that others played their part too, I have played mine.”
Asked whether that meant retiring from politics, the lawyer said, “I have not said that. I have just said I have played my part.” “The issue of the expulsion of the 21 members of Parliament is a tragedy for democratisation politics in Zimbabwe,” he said.
“It is also a tragedy for national politics. It is unprecedented in any part of the world that democratically elected members of Parliament can be eliminated as we saw on Tuesday.
“But the country will continue moving on and the challenge is how do we rescue and save our country?
“Just because 21 MPs were fired I don’t think we suddenly got US$40 billion in direct investment in the country. It won’t happen. So nobody except the forces of evil benefited from this. What it means is that unless we are able to focus on things that put bread on the table we are wasting time.”
Mr Biti described Mr Tsvangirai as having gone “way past his sell-by date” and surrounded by sycophants. The fiery opposition politician believes time has come for the transfiguration of national politics.
“We need to go beyond politics and craft a vision of Zimbabwean-hood because unless we do that, we are accelerating on auto-pilot to a position of oblivion, a position of nonentity,” said he.
“Zimbabwe’s politics is dominated by intolerance and by hatred.
“I shudder to open any newspaper because what you read there is hatred and vitriol and diatribe.
“But newspapers don’t create this, they are just a mirror image of the society that they are from — a reflection of what we have become, a miserable group of going-nowhere people stuck in hatred and bitterness.
“We need to convert these predatory and vicious cycles of exclusion into virtuous circles of inclusivity and that is the challenge and obligation on this generation.”
Zimbabwe to Export Live Elephants, Defies Opposition
Zimbabwe intends to proceed with plans to export live elephants to China, the United Arab Emirates and France because the country has too many of the animals and needs to fund its national parks.
The exports will go ahead despite opposition from wildlife activists because there is no alternative, Environment, Water and Climate Minister Saviour Kasukuwere said Friday in a speech in Hwange, the country’s biggest national park.
“It has not been an easy journey. Where we have tried to cull, we are told no because it’s inhuman and we agree,” he said. “Where you try to bring in the hunters there are also sanctions. Where we try to carry out live sales they say don’t sell. We are between a rock and a hard place.”
While Hwange has the capacity to support 15,000 elephants, the park in northwestern Zimbabwe has 43,000 of the animals. Overpopulation of elephants leads to damage to vegetation, which reduces biodiversity.
“We’ve chosen to be decisive,” he said. “There are those who complain, that’s your business to complain.”
The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, a Norfolk, Va.-based campaign group, criticized Zimbabwe’s treatment of elephants, saying the authorities used helicopters to scatter herds and then captured the young.
“These innocent and terrified babies have been traumatically torn away from their families,” PETA said in a statement on its website.
Elephants can be sold for between $40,000 and $60,000 each, depending on age, and the revenue could help meet the $2.3 million annual running costs of the park in the northwest of the country, Director for Conservation at the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Authorities, Geoffreys Matipano, said in a Dec. 18 interview at Hwange. At the time he said 62 were destined for export. Bloomberg
Faltering Mbada Resorts to Digging Conglomerate Diamonds
Government-owned Mbada Diamonds has started small-scale mining of conglomerate and kimberlitic diamonds as alluvial stones continue to dwindle, mines minister Walter Chidhakwa has said.
Marange diamond miners, who have been engaged in open cast operations, in 2013 said they had hit hard rock and that alluvial deposits were thinning out on their allocated concessions. They also said the deep seated conglomerate diamonds were not commercially viable.
“I went to Marange to see the exploration work that is being done by Mbada. They have started doing a bit of conglomerate (diamond mining) as well and also kimberlite. If they can do that, then that would take the company forward,” he told The Source on Friday.
He refused to give more details.
Last year, Mbada indicated that it was importing new state-of-the-art machinery to extract deep-seated conglomerate and kimberlitic diamonds.
Chidhakwa also said he had directed Mbada to re-engage its retrenched workers.
The company had reduced its workforce from approximately 1,800 to 500 due to low production as alluvial gems ran out.
“They said the low production forced them reduce their staffing levels. But my position was that once they have done exploration and discover more diamonds they can then reengage those people and take the company to a new level not based on alluvial diamonds only but a combination of all,” said Chidhakwa.
The minister has proposed to bring all diamond mining operations in the country under one firm in which the state will have a 50 percent shareholding.
Other miners in the Chiadzwa area include Marange Resources, Diamond Mining Company (DMC), Anjin, Jinan and Mbada Diamonds.
The proposal includes Murowa Diamond Mine near Zvishavane owned by global resources giant, Rio Tinto plc.
Man Sodomises Girl, 8
A 49-year-old man who sodomised an 8-year-old girl has been arrested, Maun police have said.
The suspect from Nxaraga village in the North West District was detained at Maun Police Station this week while waiting to appear before court on rape charges.
He allegedly raped the girl last weekend at Dikhuting cattle post.
According to Maun Police Station Commander Superintendent Peter Gochela, the victim’s father is employed by the accused’s sister to look after her livestock and normally takes her little girl with him to the cattle post for a weekend.
Gochela said it is at the cattle post that the suspect sneaked into the victim’s blankets and raped her.
“Information that we have is that the suspect got angry with a neighbour who rushed to help after hearing the girl screaming. He was found on top of her and went back to his bed while hurling insults at the neighbour,” said the police boss.
Gochela said after the neighbour left, the suspect went back and raped the young girl but this time on her behind.
Her father is said to have arrived the following day only to find the bad news to which he received the bad news about what happened to her daughter.
He took the girl with him back to Nxaraga where he reported to his wife and later the police.
The accused was arrested at the cattle and is currently held in custody for further investigations.
“He will be arraigned in court soon,” said the Station Commander. – TheVoice
Stripped Naked Full-Skin Right On Twitter
Law student Pulane Lenkoe – the girlfriend of Orlando Pirates midfielder Thandani Ntshumayelo has had her nude pics posted on Twitter by an ex.
A photo search of “Pulane” on Twitter will tell you exactly why the 31-year-old has garnered more than 11000 new followers, in just over 72 hours, since the picture was leaked.
Even rapper Cassper Nyovest and DJ Sbu are fans. DJ Black Coffee was apparently forced to unfollow her once a Twitter user alerted his pregnant wife, Rockville actress Mbali Mlotshwa, of his virtual dalliances.
Lenkoe said yesterday: “I’m literally shaking right now. I don’t want to deal with this. I just want it to go away. I wish I could just wake up and somebody tells me it’s just a dream.
“I don’t want all of this attention. Good Friday [is approaching], my goodness. I’m going to church. I don’t want people looking at me like I’m some whore.”
Lenkoe said Ntshumayelo advised her to “let it go” – but what options besides this are open to her and others?
Social media law expert Emma Sadleir said Lenkoe could sue her ex for infringement of privacy, lay a charge of crimen injuria, or even get a protection order under the Protection from Harassment Act.
But Sadleir added: “Often victims land up doing nothing because whatever you do means that more people land up finding out.”
Just over a week ago, Twitter CEO Dick Costolo admitted the microblogging site “sucked” at dealing with abuse on the platform. Twitter then introduced new rules to combat revenge porn – banning the posting of “intimate photos or videos that were taken or distributed without the subject’s consent”.
The complaints would be processed daily by its Trust and Safety team. Lenkoe’s name and picture has been trending on Twitter for three days.
Several users commented about the post, including comedian @Trevornoah, who said: “So Pulane starts trending and then Kanye tweets nudes of Kim? Why can’t we just let other children shine?”
Lenkoe said: “People who have been following me [prior to this saga] know that I wouldn’t even put a picture of me in lingerie. That’s my punani for the world to see, why would I do that? I’m not that girl.
Mugabe Flies Out of Country Again
ZIMBABWE’S sky-scouring President Robert Mugabe has left for Windhoek, Namibia this Friday to attend the inauguration of President Hage Geingob. He has only just returned from Japan.
As usual he has taken with him a large entourage of hangers on. President Geingob is Namibia’s 3rd head of state after founding fathers Sam Nujoma and Hifikepunye Pohamba, both from the Ovambo people.
Namibia celebrates its independence Silver Jubilee on Saturday and the occasion coincides with the inauguration of the new president.
President elect Geingob received 87 percent of the total votes cast, romping to victory in the November 2014 Presidential and National Assembly elections.
The winning percentage is the highest ever by SWAPO since independence.
Nine political parties took part in the presidential elections while 16 political parties participated in the National Assembly polls in which SWAPO got 80 percent.
