Shamiso Joylene Mtandwa | Former Vice President Joice Mujuru, whose party drew huge crowds in Mashonaland east over the weekend continues to “fish” in the waters of her political rivals this time snatching a top People’s Democratic Party official.
As previously hinted by ZimEye.com, the Tendai Biti led PDP, lost its Deputy National Chairman Washington Sibanda to the Joice Mujuru led Zimbabwe People First.
Highly placed PDP officials confirmed to ZimEye.com that Sibanda a former MDC-T senator tendered his resignation from the party on Friday last week.
Sibanda, formerly MDCT Matabeleland South Provincial Chairman and subsequently seconded as senator in the province, was dismissed from the MDC-T and lost his senatorial seat last year when he joined the PDP.
On joining the PDP, he was elected as the party’s vice chairman.
Sources in the Zimbabwe People First in Bulawayo confirmed to ZimEye.com that Sibanda has indeed officially joined the party and is being oriented into the party structures in Matabeleland South.
The sources further confirmed that Sibanda is earmarked to take over the Matabeleland South Provincial Chairmanship position before the party’s inaugural congress set for later this year.

what is the difference between Mujuru who only formed PF after being expelled from ZanuPf and the rest of Mugabe followers still in Zanupf and will be fired shortly? Large attendances at rallies might not mean a victory in an election. Biti has opposed Mugabe through and through. Let those who were falsely in the opposition go to where they belong. Mujuru would still be in ZanuPF calling Tswangirai and Biti sellouts if she had not been expelled by Grace.
