MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai was ‘beaten’ by controversial legislator and pioneer of violent farm invasions, Joseph Chinotimba with the latter souping a top Human Rights Award.
VOA| The Zimbabwe Human Rights Association (ZimRights) on Thursday honored outstanding rights advocates, among them Movement for Democratic Change legislator Jessie Majombe and Joseph Chinotimba of Zanu PF.
Majome, who had been nominated in four categories, won the Outstanding Female MP medal which she dedicated to her sons and family.
“To God be the glory,” she wrote on her Facebook.
“Thank you Harare Westerners, my parents Ken Majome and Amai; and my wider family. I dedicate this to my sons Tivake and Vheneka.”
Chinotimba, whose captivating sense of humor has exhilarated fellow lawmakers in parliament and ordinary people, beat four contenders to win the inaugural People’s Choice Award.
Other winners in various categories include musician Sulumani Chimbetu, TV talk show host Rebecca Chisamba and Rita Nyamupinga.
