  • Exam Results-Driven Pay Scheme torches storm – REACTIONS

Newsreaders reacting to the announcement that government is introducing an exam-results driven pay scheme, have blown things into the open revealing this opens a can of worms and is to leave the Ministers at the back-end of the watch. A move is now underway to monthly monitor government officers including the presidium for purposes of transparency. Government has also begun boosting exam fraud, the latest development reveals.
A results-oriented pay scheme must first be implemented at all levels of the civil service, newsreaders said.
“Let’s not start with teachers. Let’s start from the top going down. MPs spend most of their time sleeping in parliament, doing nothing. The government has failed to pay bonuses to the whole civil services and that same government is now talking about performance. Is this a joke?,” wrote one.

“Hanzi if teachers fail to produce good results, oh my foot! ivo are they producing anything good for this country?… I wonder…,” another added.

There are also concerns that government is now facilitating exam fraud as teachers are now under pressure to merely produce results for the sole purpose of obtaining a full salary. “If teacher’s salaries are going to be affected by the pass rate, what is to stop them from “not failing” the students to ensure that they get their full salaries in April, August and or December?,” wrote another.

Mugabe as well
Meanwhile news analysts raised charges at the presidium saying president Robert Mugabe and his two vices must be rated according performance first and the method tested at senior government level before it cascades.

  1. Its better to give a sort of incentive to those who would have achieved a higher percentage of pass rate. But everybody gets their full salary.

  3. MEANING WE WOULD HAVE TO THROUGH THE WHOLE TOP BRASS IN PRISON IF PERFOMANCE AS A MEASURE IS ANYTHING TO GO BY. NON-PAYMENT OF THEIR SALARY WOULD NOT BE BY ANY STREACH OF IMAGINATION FAIR
