Controversial preacher and necromancer Uebert Angel Mudzanire has escaped police arrest after secretly paying money through the back door.
The founder of Spirit Embassy Ministries, was on the police wanted list for the charge of defrauding a congregant of his vehicle, a Bentley Continental worth $300 000.
Angel soon fled Zimbabwe for the United Kingdom following the police hunt for having beguiled Mr Ndabazinengi Shava forcing the man to seed his vehicle under the promise that it would soon multiply within eight months; But after the said period of time, nothing changed.
ZimEye can reveal the development is all after a secret arrangement with the complainant, as evidence shows.
Angel had the warrant of arrest cancelled yesterday after the complainant, Mr Shava — who is the director of Faith Age Holdings, indicated that he has accepted the out-of-court settlement.
As a result of that transaction, the warrant of arrest has been cancelled.
The warrant issued on December 24, 2014 by magistrate Mr Tendai Mahwe has since been suddenly withdrawn by Harare provincial magistrate Mr Vakayi Chikwekwe.
Part of the letter from the Prosecutor-General’s Office signed by chief law officer Mr Chris Mutangadura reads: “May you kindly place the attached papers before the Honourable Provincial Magistrate to cancel the attached warrant of arrest as it is now evident to us that the belligerent parties have settled out of court.”
Mr Shava, in his filed affidavit, said that he had decided to withdraw the case against Prophet Angel since he had been given his money, hence he suffered no prejudice.
He said they had agreed to forgive each other. Mr Shava said: “I now wish to withdraw the charges against the accused on the following reasons: Accused has given me my money and I have suffered no prejudice financially or otherwise. We have all agreed to forgive each other and solve our differences outside police and criminal courts interference.”
He added: “Accused has apologised for his actions and I voluntarily feel obliged to forgive him. I am a businessman and always busy such that I will not be able to pursue the matter in criminal court, moreso considering that I am no longer prejudiced in any way.”
