Expelled ZANU PF Secretary for Administration Didymus Mutasa has spoken out for the first time, to a Zimbabwean journalist, on his filing a whistle-blowing report against his boss Robert Mugabe to the regional body, SADC. Until today, Mutasa had kept his press addresses on his SADC action confined outside the Zimbabwean community.
Speaking exclusively to ZimEye.com early Wednesday morning, Mutasa stated that there was nothing wrong with him expressing his opinion as a citizen of Zimbabwe.
When asked on the veracity of his having sent a report to South African President Jacob Zuma through that country’s media, Mr Mutasa said, “I don’t know; it is quite possible. But there is nothing wrong about that[voicing my opinion].”
When asked for clarification if he meant that there was nothing wrong with him exercising his citizenship rights, Mutasa added, “Exactly, and also to point out that what has been done is wrong.”
Asked if he will be seeking an appeal Mutasa said that he was not intending to pursue such an option. “I am not going to appeal at all,” he said in a suddenly toned-down voice.
He was quizzed on if and when he will be returning to Zimbabwe and to which he replied saying, “my wife is in hospital. I will be returning as soon as she has recovered.”
Mutasa who Mugabe has humiliated and dumped was until a few weeks ago Mugabe’s most trusted right hand man. The ZANU PF ruler would personally deploy him to fight white farmers on behalf of the Zimbabwean government at the World Bank Court and also to carry out acts of terror code-named “Gamatox”.
In the same interview [FULL RECORDING to be webcasted Wednesday afternoon) Mutasa spoke not only on his looming expulsion from ZANU PF, but also on the promised 70 hectare farm of the late ZEC Information Boss Shupikai Mashereni who mysteriously died shortly after requesting the promised farm from Mutasa in February (WATCH THIS SPACE FOR HIS FULL COMMENTS). He also spoke about his nephew Temba Mliswa and his allegedly meddling with the law on Mliswa’s seizure of British businessman Paul Westwood’s company. More to follow on the burning saga….
