Dear Editor
lettersI am at the airport and have just seen president Robert Mugabe struggling to walk at the airport. He came out of the airplane in slow motion, and was in no time rushed into his official car.

  1. He needs to be forced out through violence. Take him to court and sentence him to 10 long months to Zim go back to it’s glory before he dies.

  2. Then any wonder Africa is the most backward Continent on mother earth? Too much superstition. Nothing wrong with wishing an evil, satanic person dead. Absolutely nothing wrong whatsoever. Grow out of stupid primitive superstitions – the world revolves around Science; not superstition!!

  3. What a fool. No wonder you are in this messy situation as a country. You love excusing this Dictator. Who is the “they” here, in your “….they have over used this 92 year old man….?”
Cant you hear him talking on his own and saying he is going nowhere? So who are the “they”?
I just dont understand you Zimbabweans. When will you call a spade a spade and stop your cowardice. Mugabe is responsible for himself; he has caused the mess and has forced others to back him in his mess.
Even when it comes to his Ministers; you go to the extent of excusing him and yet the Ministers are selected and appointed by him. Zimbabweans are bewitched and utterly useless!

  4. Surely Zvichapera, could you say the man has been overused,I don’t believe that if he said today,he has had enough of state house and opt to leave it,no one would refuse his human and gently offer, but the elder statesman has opted to continue with state punishing responsibilities at his age.

  5. Petros I was reading articles on this site yesterday where they said he died. The articles even mention his VP as taking over and the deputy being the army chief with Mugabe’s wife. Surely this debate isn’t about Mugabe’s popularity or how much he is hated but the media integrity. The media must be credible and unbiased. We only know those state controlled media that will always be bias towards the state. Do we believe what is uploaded on these sites or not? Hence my view that it is wrong to wish one dead no matter how they might be bad. There is no question on the health issue whatsoever. If he is ill, he is ill period. If he died, he should be dead, period. My comment is about journalism integrity. Do we just publish any junk simply because it says what we wish or we stand by the truth and publish those stories proven to be correct? Lets not confuse the issues here.

  6. You are contradicting yourself Rex. ‘could have died’ and ‘has died’ are different phrases with totally different meanings. ‘could have died’ means that the writer is not sure and hence if the person is still alive you cannot say the writer lied or erred.

  7. I have been reading articles on this issue over the last few days and am sure that none of them said he had died. They all suggested that he had a health issue that forced him to abandon the Sadc meeting. What is instructive is that unlike on previous occasions, this time his homecoming was not accompanied by any speeches. He was whisked away rather quickly and as suggested by this opinion piece he was walking very slowly indicating that health wise he is not yet out of the woods. We wish him a speedy recovery.

  8. Tinehama dzakafa nezhara , cholera nepamusana pevutungamiriri hwake Robert so kufa kwake chii chingashamisira todoshuvira dai aenda kwamupfiga nehwe

  9. This is the point I am trying to put across. Wishing someone dead actually works the opposite. That is why at 92, Mugabe is still a president and he is even contemplating standing for elections in 2018. Where is journalism credibility if one is reported dead today and is seen walking tomorrow?

  10. Guys no matter what someone has done should we wish him dead. Have you ever asked yourselves why Mugabe has led Zimbabwe for this long? Do you ever ask yourselves why he is still holding office at 92? Where are other leaders who were with him? All this is because people have wished him dead all along. Evil as he might be he is still God’s creation and God will deal with him the way He sees fit. Now is wishing him dead doing Zimbabwe any good? He arrived at Harare Airport joking about the news. What do you think that means? Zimbabweans can change leadership with Mugabe alive. Why would you be scared of me and wait for my death? If say Mugabe stays alive for the next 20 to thirty years, how would Zimbabwe be then? I know there are bad leaders out there and I am fully aware of what happened in Zim in the 1980s. Those responsible for those atrocities will answer one day. If he dies today, will that rectify all the wrongs he has done? The answer is a big NO. Therefore there must be a way Zimbabweans can deal with Mugabe while he is still alive. Publishing a story that one has died while he isn’t is unprofessional. It shows that the story was published without verifying the story and where does that leave journalism?

  11. If someone is killing your children what do you do? Sit down and smile? Are you not going to knife them right into the chest? The least we can do for him is wish he dies on his own. Which is worse, killing him or wishing him dead on his own?

  12. I have always said it that they have over-used this 92 years old man, they call Robert Gabriel Mugabe. He thought he was invincible, but the fact of the matter is that although you can use the army, police and CIO to oppress a people, you can not use them to make you young. Mugabe is old and he is heading home. If he had retired, he would rest in peace, but in his situation he is being forced to do what is humanly impossible. They may dispute that he is alive, but the fact is that he is dead as long as he can not perform his duties as a president of republic as expected, and continue to cling to power when all is clear and obvious that his faculties can not allow him to perform his duties effectively and efficiently. He is destroying a people, so that we all die with him. What a selfish dictator!!!. We made a mistake to even allow him to get near power. We will go down history as a people who presided over their own demise. My hope is that we will rise up again stronger and wiser, that is if history does not repeat itself.

  13. Andibvumi Mugabe Akafa Varume <Varikude kuvhare vanhu maone chete ,Vachataura zvavo, ini ndinotobvuma ndamuona that's all.

  14. It is unAfrican to wish people dead but it is very African to bury our dead not let dead people walking ……moreso visiting other countries and masquerading as our leader iwo mabhonzo iwayo…hona zvadzo padzigere!!!

  15. Hunhu hwevanhu hwakapedzwa nehunhu hweZanu husina uvanhu mukati. Zanu and Mugabe don’t just others dead, but they do the Killing.

  16. You seem to miss something here! When did people start to wish him dead? What you must understand is that this old man has manipulated and abused people beyond imaginable levels. In the process he tightened his grip on power including refusing to step aside when he was defeated in an election. He has incarcerated all people who dared challenge his misrule. It is at the backdrop of all this that people are turning to fate for their emancipation. People are desperate, remember ‘Kutsva kweashaya kutsvaka uta mugate.’

  17. No no, he must die.for the good of the country. He is the major reason why nothing is functioning in the country. His party is shambles. The govt is penniless becuase of him as head of state. Our relatives are dying prematurely becuase of exorbitant hospital and doctor charges.Pv Ngwenya I can give you a thousand reasons why majority of Zimbaweans wishing him dead. His situation is very unusual and therefore many do not feel pity for him. He is more useful to us dead than alive!!!

  18. If you notice the above article says opinion which means its not a news report, so the dream still lives on!

  19. I cant believe some journalism. Its so inhuman and barbaric. You published series of articles that Mugabe is dead, now he was seen struggling to walk. What a shame? Good or bad, no one has a right to wish another person dead. That’s being a coward. Mugabe can be challenged alive as he is. He doesn’t have to die for him to be voted out.

  20. Mugabe must now go by dying because he has rigged and killed people to remain in power till he dies. He won’t leave office as long as he is alive and we are fed up of his misrule. Mugabe must die, period.

  21. He needs to step down. How can you make critical decisions when you can’t even walk? We can’t see ourselves beyond this old man. What is he still doing? President for what and doing what? I dont get it with people who still expect to be led by a dying man. He can’t control his subordinates. No wonder why for 36yrs we can’t institute positive changes because Zimbabwe is a Mgabe affair. We deserve all the suffering that we going through. We are so stupid, no wonder we are still so backward. Of all races we are at the bottom in every aspect because of our stupidity. What do we expect from a corpse, except flies?

  22. Disappointing and malicious editor and website…embarrassing how Zim journalism has gone to the dogs!

  23. Why does this publication…spread falsehoods….This has now turned into a rogue news peace…nxaaaa!!

  24. He was walking wasnt he? Did you see President Mugabe walking? Yesterday you reported that he was missing and could have died and today he has resurrected and is walking. Tauraiwo chokwadi nguva dzose

  25. It’s unafrican to wish someone dead. Just wondering what have become of us, the love and caring sevanhu vane hunhu…

  26. Zvamaida zvaramba. If falsehood could kill a person I guess you could be celebrating. But death is only controlled by God not the online editor

  27. But YOU guys were partying saying he is dead…..Do dead people walk???…..let alone stagger????…..Shame on you Satanists…
