Terrence Mawawa | Controversial ZIFA Boss Philip Chiyangwa has vowed to fix former employees of the country’ s soccer governing body who attempted to sabotage his campaign for the association’ s presidency.
Sources at ZIFA House said Chiyangwa was irked by attempts by former ZIFA Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Mashingaidze, former finance manager Benjamin Dhewa and ex accountant Fabian Vunganai’ to sabotage his campaign for the association’ s top post.
Chiyangwa has since instructed the police to probe the trio in connection with the alleged embezzlement of funds.
ZIFA Chief Executive Officer, Joseph Mamutse denied Chiyangwa was behind the prosecution of the trio.
“We made a report under ZIFA RRB Number 3370999 on Saturday 16 December and the accused person was Jonathan Mashingaidze.
Further perusal of information at hand has revealed that the accused worked with the following persons in committing the crimes mentioned in the report- Mr Benjamin Dhewa and Mr Fabian Madzima Venganai.
The three cases were revealed in the 2011 audit report.
The cases were revealed as follows: theft of $ 41 215, theft of $ 99 648 and fraud amounting to $ 744 635,” said Mamutse.
