By Langton Ncube|Norton MP , Temba Mliswa said he was waiting for Zanu PF to write him a formal invitation letter before he rejoins the party.

At the weekend special advisor to the President, and war veterans chairman Christopher Mutsvangwa in Norton said President Emmerson Mnangagwa wanted Mliswa back in Zanu PF.

“The Central Committee Resolution of the party which was adopted at the just ended Extraordinary Congress stipulates that all affected party members should be reinstated into the party and I am one of those affected,” Mliswa told the Herald.

“As of now, I am only waiting to receive a formal letter of reinstatement from the party leadership and I become a member again,”he said.

The outspoken Mliswa was once the provincial chairperson for Zanu-PF Mashonaland West province before he was kicked out from the party in December 2014.

However, if Mliswa rejoins Zanu-PF before the end of his term, he will lose his Norton seat, because when he won the seat he was registered as an independent.

This is because of the “Jonathan Moyo Clause” in the 2013 Constitution under Section 129(1)(l) which states that where a person was not a member of a political party when he became an MP he loses his seat when he joins a political party.

  1. If you want to make it in life, you must invest in your ideals and beliefs. If you suck up to mere mortals, you’re just like a butterfly in the wind. Mliswa has outshone Msorobhangu in being a turncoat, political prostitute and chameleon.
