The MP’s cousin was also assaulted.

The incident happened last night at 10pm and “the police arrived (5 hours later) at 3am Saturday),” Hon. Mashamombe told ZimEye.com

He told ZimEye after their arrival, the police said they suspect that the assailants were motivated by politics.

Hon. Mashayamombe has been accused of being a member of the G40 faction. But questioned on this he told ZimEye he has never been a G40 member. He said during the Robert Mugabe days like everyone else he was just a supporter of the President. “We used to support the President, simple”, he said.

  1. You are a misguided element. Everyone knows Chihuri and his police details have been living off the poor Zimbabweans through unorthodox ways (traffic to be more precise). Chihuri himself also had the nerve to force his subordinates to contribute towards his wife’s business projects (the much hated kuyedza club). Please note that all the moves by the ousted Chihuri deeply and negatively affected Zimbabweans who were already languishing in a sea of poverty. Unfortunately, it is sad that it is the police that had become the criminals. Actually, criminals like you loved the police of the Chihuri era.

I however, would like to agree with observer that we need to give the new dispensation a chance.

  2. when Mashayamombe set those marovha on Jah Prayzah was that not G40 membership? the unfortunate thing is mukoma wake ndite akarohwa sorry hake it would have been good for him to taste his own medicine on Jah Prayzah

  3. ZANU PF has long held the following views:
1 If you are not a ZANU PF card holder you are opposition
2 If you have no political affiliation you are opposition
3 If you are opposition you deserve death
4 If you deserve death, their children must do the killing.

The logical extrapolation of that is
1 If you are not a card holder of LACOSTE, You are a G40 card holder
2 If you are a G40 card holder you deserve to die
3 If you deserve to die then the children of LACOSTE card holders must do the killing.

The president then was a G40 member and if Mashayamombe supported him then it follows he was G40. The penalty is what is going on.

Till ZANU PF learns to produce presidents who are for the whole nation, who listen to criticism and produce solutions, who penalises people who do wrong in his name (whether that wrong potentially benefits him or not), who sing national songs when at national events, who ask people to wear national emblems instead of personalised emblems, etc, we will always have these attacks.

  4. True and well said.Normally criminals are the ones who hate the police. I once attended a passout parade and number 1 looter Obert Mpofu was the guest of honour. He told Chiuri to continue the good work of road blocks claiming that 5 dollars given to sergents was nothing. BUT today he sings a different story. The army just tarnished the excellent reputation of ZRP which was until the coup one of the best in Africa. Their “corruption” is grossly exegerated.

  5. zimeye why are you so anti-police. U say police arrived 5 hours later. Why dont you tell us what time they got the report. do you want them to prophesy. Its too much now they are people like everyone else. they are zimbabweans like everyone else. They made effort to correct wrongs of traffic branch why cant we give them a chance.
