By Staff Reporter| The Minister of Environment, Water and Climate, Muchinguri Kashiri (MP) has dismissed the whole Parks And Wildlife board.

Reasons for the dismissal as explained by the minister are that the board had allegedly usurped her executive powers.
ZimEye.com could not at at the time of writing ascertain exactly what the minister referred to by a usurping of executive powers. It was also difficult to establish if Minister Muchinguri followed due process before conducting her mass dismissal.
Last year, Muhcinguri was at loggerheads with the late Masvingo Minister Shuvai Mahofa over the relocating of 2000 animals from the Save Conservancy to Mozambique. Before her untimely death, Minister Mahofa vowed to stop Mrs Muchinguri.
Meanwhile, her office in a statement said Muchinguri has, “in term of section 6 of the 12th schedule of the Parks and Wildlife Amendment Act Number 19 of 2001, terminated the term of office of the Parks and Wildlife Management Authority Board with immediate effect.
“The wayward conduct of some members of the Board which was characterised by a departure from playing an advisory role to that of usurping executive powers, ran counter to the good cooperate governance principles that Government has adopted and is upholding.
“Apart from playing a key role in the economy, the Parks and Wildlife Management Authority is also the custodian of the conservation of Zimbabwe’s natural resources and it therefore behoves on the Minister to ensure that at all tones competent individuals with the requisite probity constitute its Board.”
