Seven colonels promoted to the rank of Brigadier General by the Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces President Emerson Mnangagwa have been installed.
The Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) held an investiture ceremony for seven Brigadier Generals promoted from the rank of Colonel by President Mnangagwa.
The seven are Brigadier Generals Wilferd Kamusikiri, Earnest Shamu, Joe Muzvidziwa, Simo Maseko, Shadreck Vezha, Norman Matuvhunge and Joshua Chikanga.
ZNA Commander Lieutenant General Edzai Absolom Chimonyo challenged the newly promoted generals to work diligently for the force and the nation at large.
Brigadier General Simo Maseko who spoke on behalf of the new generals said the seven will work hard and deliver on their new responsibilities as expected of them by the ZNA.
The promotions from the rank of Colonel to Brigadier General are in line with Section 15 1b of the Defence Act and came into effect on 16 February 2018.- state media
