Masvingo State Minister, Josaya Dunira Hungwe has said there is no space for outsiders who want to loot diamonds in Masvingo Province.

Commenting on the recent discovery of diamond deposits in the Sese Area in Chivi District, Hungwe said the people of Masvingo were the rightful beneficiaries of the minerals in the province.

Ironically two weeks ago, Hungwe claimed he was ready to bring foreign investors to Masvingo Province.

“This province is rich in minerals and I have been told kimberlite pipes have been discovered in Sese.

I have also been informed that the kimberlite pipes produce quality diamonds.

We want the people of Masvingo to benefit from the minerals in the province,” Hungwe told reporters at his Benjamin Burombo Offices in Masvingo yesterday.
