Staff Reporter| The United Kingdom’s envoy to Harare, Catriona Laing has told President Emmerson Mnangagwa he must not expect a miracle economy.

Laing has for months been thought to be pro-ZANU PF, a development that also saw her putting on a Mugabe-Mnangagwa scarf while in London.

But writing responding to Mnangagwa directly Ambassador Laing said everything is in Mnangagwa’s hands to uphold human rights and a free and fair election.

Mnangagwa had posted a self assuring message on economic revival and Laing then jumped to respond from her micro blogging portal.

She said, “I agree, Zimbabwe’s prospects are much brighter than for many years, but ultimately a full revival will depend on meeting your commitments to free and fair elections, rule of law, human rights, respect for the constitution, and economic renewal.”
