Terrence Mawawa, Masvingo | Masvingo State Minister, Josaya Dunira Hungwe is making frantic efforts to impose his cousin as the Zanu PF Parliamentary candidate for Masvingo Urban Constituency.

Hungwe declared that his cousin, Goddard Dunira was the party’ s sole candidate for Masvingo Urban Constituency, party insiders said yesterday.

Dunira, who is a councillor in Chivi is facing tough competition from Eddison Zvobgo Junior, who is eyeing the same Parliamentary Seat.

“Hungwe told party members during the Provincial Coordinating Committee meeting at the weekend Zvobgo’ s credentials were questionable because of his late father’s chequered political record.

Two other candidates are also eyeing the same constituency,” said a party insider.

Both Hungwe and Zvobgo Junior have dismissed talk of beef between them.
