By Farai D Hove| MDC renegade and expelled former Vice President Thokozani Khupe was on Saturday afternoon dressed down by her own Mthwakazi delegates.

Khupe had invited the two men from the Mthwakazi Republic Party movement to deliver a solidarity speech. To Khupe’s surprise, she got no solidarity from them.

MRP leader Mqondisi Moyo’s Foreign Affairs aide humiliated Khupe by opening his speech saying Khupe’s faction is not at all the authentic Morgan Tsvangirai party.

He furthermore said they came to the function not to offer solidarity, but just as a formality to an invitation for which they remained skeptical of Khupe’s identity.

He spoke of the “enormous public relations nightmare that we will have to deal with later. We chose to be here today because we don’t know why you decided to honour us. Hence we had no reason to decline. We chose to be here, because we had a perception because we are not part of MDC so we rely on perception; so we have the perception that this is not the Tsvangirai MDC that we used to know. It’s just a perception. We chose to here because we want to know, what is this? I believe that everyone knows what our perception of MDC Tsvangirai as MRP is…”

Earlier on Khupe’s aide Abednico Bhebhe made false claims that British and US embassy officials were in attendance. The two white men rose up to the stage and denied they are either British or American. They are rather from the Dutch embassy…
