By Talent Gondo| Special Advisor to President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Christopher Mutsvangwa has attributed his defeat in the just ended Zanu Pf primary elections to “revenge strategies by a coalition of G40-Gamatax politicians”.
Mutsvangwa lost his bid to represent his party Zanu Pf as the aspiring Norton legislator in the forthcoming elections to Langton Mutendereki.

Speaking to a local daily, the NewsDay, Mutsvangwa said his loss was well orchestrated by the G40 coalition which is interfering in the Zanu PF political processes.
“I was their target hence they were determined to stop me because I was at the centre of former president Robert Mugabe’s fall,” said Mutsvangwa.
Mutsvangwa revealed that he had been advised to leave things as they were.
“My supporters are traumatised, they have been harassed and suffered the worst abuses in violation of their rights as party members.
“I have made an appeal to the national commissar Engelbert Rugeje,” he said.
Mutsvangwa described the G40 Gamatox cohorts as “revengists who have zeroed in on Norton with the sole goal of blocking his candidature in July”.
“In typical manner, they are trampling on every rule [of] proper electoral practice,” he said, adding that these G40 stalwarts were “harrying bona fide party cadres”.
