By Tatenda Magara| I respect that you are the current leader of the republic of Zimbabwe. I am a young Zimbabwean youth, a graduate and a leader for tomorrow. We are on the ground, our Zimbabwean ground, where we meet as youths and the elderly to discuss Zimbabwe and its way forward. I once had a discussion with an elderly father who is a war veteran and also my youth colleagues. I have mentioned War Veterans and Youths. The two types of people understand Zimbabwe from different contexts. Most people cannot control their feelings or emotions brought about with past experience and/or what they went through in life. A background of war versus a background of economic hardships if two people from these contexts are not careful in a debate, they might end-up fighting and failing to unite. WE WANT UNITY!

There is a gap to be closed between the elderly and the youths. We do not want a tag of war between the old (tried and tested) experienced, and the youths (vibrant and promising) energetic.

Before you leave Mr President, allow me to give you this task with all my respect; please dilute these two groups of your population, unite them, and iron-out their differences. Manage their feelings. We want the youths to understand the dynamics and history of the country at the same time the older to understand the difficulties of life we are facing without using emotions. I may not be able to clearly send this message to you but a visionary leader will always be able to get the sense.

You belong to the elderly Mr President by age and by the history of you to Zimbabwe but as a leader for us all, we want you to be Young when dealing with youths. when someone old holds a baby in his/her hands, everything goes childish, the sounds one make, the sayings and action too. when someone young is with the elderly, everything goes matured, no actions, very stable, well mannered, good behavior! We look forward to see you Comrade being a youth at the same time an old work-horse, uniting us and closing the gap, mixed feelings and different opinions between the Old and the Young.

We will see SUCCESSION go well and the country moving forward. I am not a fan of Elections but at an academic level i understand the importance of Elections. Zimbabwe actually needs them for the country to go forward. Let us pray for anything that may disturb the holding of scheduled and constitutionally due elections this year. WE NEED PEACE AND ABOVE ALL UNITY. May God bless Zimbabwe and Zimbabweans!!!
