By Farai D Hove| ANALYSIS| Many Zimbabweans have said they are burning to see what could be of former First Lady Grace Mugabe’s rumoured desire to be installed as Vice President in the MDC Alliance.

These claims were made by NPF party stalwart, Jim Kunaka on Friday. He made the comments while reacting to the firing of his boss, Ambrose Mutinhiri from the party presidency by spokesman Jealousy Mawarire.

ZANU PF bigwigs said there is “a striking coincidence” of the development coming at a time when Professor Jonathan Moyo accidentally shot a LIVE video of himself discussing about a female donor of the NPF. During the video-recorded discussion, Moyo could be heard discussing with Robert Mugabe’s nephew, Patrick Zhuwao on the identity of the donor and another one, only titled, “Muchembere.” One of the donors reportedly donated 20,000 party t-shirts.

This discussion was triggered on micro blogging website, Twitter by the ZANU PF UK Chairman Nick Mangwana. Activists claimed that Grace Mugabe could be headed to the influential post in the MDC Alliance following party spokesman Jealousy Mawarire’s declaration of support for the MDC Alliance in Harare last week.

It was the issue of joining the MDC Alliance which was last Friday criticised by the Mutinhiri faction as they conjoined it with the allegations of Grace Mugabe being behind the move and this with the intention of eventually becoming Nelson Chamisa’s deputy.

But party leader Nelson Chamisa has said Grace is nowhere near coming to the Alliance.

“Now they say Grace Mugabe wants to be VP in Alliance I see you panicked. Friends if Mnangagwa abused Grace’s name to chase Mujuru from Zanu Pf then used Grace’s name to justify a coup then do not be surprised when he uses Grace’s name to try to steal voters from MDC Alliance.

As far as we know Grace Mugabe retired from active politics and she is not coming anywhere near the Alliance,” said Chamisa on his Facebook page.

Below was the full text of Chamisa’s statement:

There Will Be Sideshows, Propanganda; Infiltration!

As the freedom train roars across Zimbabwe, there will be every effort by the junta to use scare tactics to deceive you, do not easily believe.

When they said Chamisa lost in court you panicked, when they said Chamisa wrote to Mnangagwa for GNU again you panicked.

Now they say Grace Mugabe wants to be VP in Alliance I see you panicked. Friends if Mnangagwa abused Grace’s name to chase Mujuru from ZANUPF then used Grace’s name to justify a coup then do not be surprised when he uses Grace’s name to try to steal voters from MDC Alliance.

As far as we know Grace Mugabe retired from active politics and she is not coming anywhere near the Alliance.
