Former president Robert has just been let off the hook over missing billions in diamond revenue as parliament committee drops call for him to answer questions after failing to show up for the third time.

Mugabe has previously failed on two occasions to appear before the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Mines and Energy to answer questions on the allegedly looting of diamonds worth $15 billion from Marange diamond fields under his watch as the president.
The Committee had been given him the final chance to appear before the committee on Monday afternoon a time slot the Committee considered might be suitable for his old age, but Mugabe failed to show up again.

A report by Reuters says the mines committee has now recused the 94-year-old former leader after consultations with the Speaker of parliament.
