
By Paul Nyathi|The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation’s SFM radio has rebranded to Classic 263 at a colourful ceremony that was held today at Pockets Hill, Highlands in Harare.
Officially launching Classic 263, ZBC board of directors deputy chairperson Dr Cleopatra Mutisi applauded the national broadcaster for this noble initiative which has come at a time when Zimbabwe is geared for next month’s harmonised elections.
He added that Classic 263 will be chanelled towards the promotion of peaceful dialogue that foster unity among Zimbabweans.
ZBC Chief Executive Officer Mr Patrick Mavhura said the initiative was borne out of the select research conducted in 2015 coupled with feedback from audience.
“This product is for you…you spoke we listened. This is a vibrant exciting engaging and progressive station just as you asked,” he said.
Classic 263 programming include current affairs, political, business, sports, arts and health issues.
