By Own Correspondent| Zanu Pf has warmed up to former president Robert Mugabe wishing him a speedy recovery following his congratulatory message to President Emmerson Mnangagwa at his inauguration last Sunday.
Mugabe, who earlier on attracted ridicule from Zanu Pf stalwarts and was labelled a traitor for “endorsing opposition leader Nelson Chamisa a day before the July 30 elections” revealed that he was not well and could not attend Mnangagwa’s inauguration.
In a letter read at the inauguration ceremony, Mnangagwa revealed the circumstances leading to the absence of Mugabe at the event.
“I am not well….. but I have sent my daughter (Bona) and her husband (Simba Chikore) to represent me and my wife. Hearty congratulations.” read part of the letter.
The party on its official Twitter handle wished Mugabe a speedy recovery adding that President Mnangagwa would ensure that he gets the best medical care he deserved.
Said Zanu Pf:
