School Head Commits Suicide Over Missing Funds

Terrence Mawawa|A deputy headmaster in Mashonaland East has committed suicide over missing school funds.
The deputy headmaster at Gumbonzvanda High School, Lancelot Zinzombe (50), reportedly committed suicide following a
heated dispute over missing funds. An audit had revealed that $90 000 was missing from the school coffers.
Zinzombe’s body was found hanging from a tree near his homestead.
Mashonaland East Provincial Police Spokesperson Inspector Tendai Mwanza confirmed the incident.
“Police are still investigating the
circumstances surrounding the death of a senior teacher at Gumbonzvanda High School. We have received the report.
A post-mortem is yet to be carried out,” said Mwanza.
