Terrence Mawawa| Zimbabwe Warriors head coach Sunday Chidzambwa is happy with the 1-1 result they achieved against Congo on Sunday but says they could have scored more goals in the first half of the game.

Khama Billiat netted Zimbabwe’s only goal in the 22nd minute before Congolese talisman Thievy Bifouma equalised for the hosts five minutes into the second half.

Chidzambwa’s charges remain on top of Group G with four points, courtesy of a better goal difference over DRC who are in the second position.

“I think the guys played well in the first half and in my view that performance deserved at least, two or more goals, but we couldn’t take all our chances,” the coach told The Herald.

“Those missed opportunities gave them a chance to come back.

“In the second half, they seized control of the midfield until we introduced Tafadzwa Kutinyu (for Kuda Mahachi) and we improved and matched them again.”
