Jane Mlambo| Roil cooking oil producers, United Refineries has threatened to blacklist retailers who are in the business of withholding supplies received for sell to customers.

The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Busisa Moyo said they supplied 150 000 units into Bulawayo and surrounding markets last week but some errant retailers chose to disadvantage customers by withholding the ‘precious gold’ from customers.

Zimbabwe is currently battling acute shortage of basic commodities including cooking oil, bread, sugar among others.

Government has moved in to open the borders for imports but there is little uptake of the facility due to the high cost of getting foreign currency which is currently available on the black market at a premium.
