Terrence Mawawa|Political commentator Jeffryson Chitando has described as daylight robbery the failure by the government to pay civil servants’ salaries in hard currency.

Zimbabweans must understand that the 2019 National budget which was presented by Finance minister Prof M.Ncube was based on US dollars.
When doctors and all other civil servants are demanding their salaries in US dollars they are
legally supported by The Parliament of Zimbabwe which passed the 2019 budget.

The statement by Acting President Chiwenga that Zimbabwe does not
print US dollars violates the legal status of the budget. Zanu PF and MDC Alliance Members of Parliament passed a budget in US dollars not in any other currency.

The budget allocation for  civil servants’ salaries is in US dollars.Emmerson Mnangagwa was present in parliament on the day when the US dollar budget was presented,to show his commitment to pay civil servants in US dollars.If the Mnangagwa government fails to pay doctors and other civil servants in US dollars that is daylight robbery.
