ZLHR Deploys Lawyers To Assist Arrested Teachers

By Own Correspondent| The Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) has revealed that it has deployed lawyers to offer legal support to nine members of the Amalgamated Rural Teachers’ Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ) who were today arrested while demonstrating.
The ARTUZ officials were arrested on Monday morning at Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube’s offices.
Said the ZLHR in a statement:
“In Harare, the ZLHR has deployed lawyers to offer emergency legal support services to 9 ARTU leaders arrested and detained at Harare Central Police Station as they sought to get feedback on their salary and welfare demands from Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube.”
