Own Correspondent|The ANC’s Zizi Kodwa has downplayed allegations by a man purporting to have taken part in fraudulently granting party membership.

The governing party’s national spokesperson’s described Thapelo Leponesa as a conman.

The statement follows an affidavit and video by one Thapelo Leponesa who claims he and several other party members were hired to rig the party elections that elevated Ramaphosa to presidency.

Leponesa claims in the video that he and others cheated documents leading to the ANC’s 54th national elective conference.

He said they fraudulently worked documents in order to send illegal delegates to Nasrec.

Kodwa said Leponesa is not a real member of the ANC.

The full exposè by Leponesa reads as follows:

AFFIDAVIT:

I Thapelo Leponesa ID. 8407026057082 state under oath that myself and other comrades cheated documents leading to the ANC’s 54th national elective conference. We fraudulently worked the documents in order to send fraudulent and ilegal delegates to Nasrec 

1. Sometime in July 2017, I was approached by Cde Abiel Mokotso the former Regional Secretary of Thabo Mofotsanyana. We met at the regional office whilst I was paying a visit there to my other comrades.
He requested me to assist him in putting the membership of the region in order so as to have less administrative work towards Nasrec. When I asked him why he chose me he told me that its because he knew that I was very helpful to my branch secretary hence my branch file is always in order.

2. I agreed to his request since I knew that it was imperative and almost obligatory that every member of the organisation should play an active role in the life of the organization.
To me it was just a genuine cause with no ulterior motives.

3. This started during the preparations of regional conferences leading up to the Provincial and national conferences which were to sit later in the end of the year. At the time they were holding BGMs and subjecting  branches to audit and verification.

4. He indicated that they were less resourced and they could not manage to deposit bulks of membership at the bank.
He also asked me if don’t I know a place that makes stamps so that I can take him to inorder for him to order some bank stamps. On the following day I then took him to a Parkistanian guy ( Jamin) who has an outlet that manufactures the stamps and other things. We requested stamps for the following FNB branches in the Free State:
– Brandwag
– Botshabelo
– Setsing
– Bethelehem
– Harrismith
– Bloemfontein
– Phuthadithjaba.

5. We took the stamps and went straight to Kroonstad myself, Cde Abiel, Cde Linda and Cde Gilbert to first help Cde Kgotso and Cde Letsatsi who are based in Lejweleputswa Region. When we got there we found them waiting for us at a certain guest house already having bulk membership forms tha needed bank stamps as well as some filling of some details on some forms and some forms were fully filled only needed a stamp.

6. Abiel then booked a room for us to work and sleep on. They asked me to check in and later came in carrying with them the stacks and stacks of bulk ANC membershio forms. 
We divided the work among ourselves and allocated difeerent responsibilities. My duty was to put a stamp, Cde Abiel was making signatures, Cde Linda and Gilbert were sorting the membership.
We worked there two full days and whilst on it Cde Thabiso and Cde Mafereka Ellias were called by Cde Abiel to come and assist as the task at hand was a mammoth one.

7. On the first day we worked overnightand in the morning Cde Letsatsi and Kgotso came to pick up what we had finished to give branches so as to go to audit which was on going. We continued the next day doing membership so as to make sure that we are done the time they come to pick it up for audit the following morning.
The accommodation, catering and everything that we would need was catered for by Cde Abiel and we were using his white Hyundai Vehicle criss crossing the province.

8. After we had done with Lejweleputswa Region my team headed to Bloemfontein to assist Motheo Region. I had remained behind in Kroonstad to attend to a night prayer at my church.

A week later we reconnected in Phuthaditchaba and we met at Wimpy there for breakfast.

Whilst enjoying our breakfast Abiel got a call from Mxolisi Dukwana and after the call he instructed me and my team to go to Cape Town to assist the Western Cape province the same way we assisted Lejweleputswa Region.

We flew to George from OR Tambo airport and we were received by Cde Titi who booked us a place to work and sleep on in Protea Hotel for about three days.

From the airport we went straight to the regional office where Cde Titi directed us to the boardroom and brought Cde Qonda to introduce him to us. After the introductory remarks and so on, they left and CdeTiti came back bringing bulk membership forms where some of them were half filled, some filled fully, some only need a signature and some needed a bank stamp. The overall objective was to produce more membership and have it in good standing at the same time so that it could participate in the Nasrec Confrence in December.

9. It took us about half a night to finish all the forms given to us because we had no bank receipts to use for proof of payments. In the morning we drove to Knysna FNB to collect a batch of deposit slips to use for that region as George FNB no longer used the green receipts.
We used those green receipts after having put the stamp on them to validate membership and to also serve as proof of payment 
Cde Titi came in the evening to fetch the forms and delivered them to the regional office. We then went to sleep.

A week later we went to Cape town with a team assembled by Cde Linda which included the following Cdes;
– Cde Nerina Selelpe
– Cde Ellias Mafirika
– Cde Linda Mthombeni

This team was taking orders from Cde Titi Mokebe who is a close friend of Cde Mxolisi Dukwana residing in Frankfort.

We then proceeded to Dullar Omar Region in Cape Town where we were booked in Protea Hotel Waterfront for a week.

10. During the day Cde Titi would go collect the membership from branches and we would work during the night. 

The bulk membership he brought was also incomplete as it was not filled and no stamp and signatures. We were expected to do the same routine work as we had done to the other regions.

We also used the green receipts 

After completing Dullar Omar we went back to Free State as Cde Mbalula had lost his mother. Same day ater the funeral we went to the operation centre at the new mall at Thabo Manyoni’s office.

11. The following Monday I went back to Western Cape in Cape Town to finish up the task. On Wednesday we drove to Hermanus and when we arrived there we were taken to the regional office and met Cde Themba who allocated an office for us to work in.

Already stack of bulk branch membership forms were there.

It took us only one day to complete the job there and we drove back to Cape Town.

We then left for about 3 days and came back to assist with corrections as the audit was on going and we were now booked at Hollo Square hotel.

12. After the ANC’s elective conference I begun to be very effected by what I did, having understood that I committed all these evil acts.
