Below is the statement by the government of Botswana that it did not give Emmerson Mnangagwa any money, contrary to claims by Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube.

BOTSWANA DID NOT LOAN ZIMBABWE MONEY

President Dr. Masisi explains to the media that Botswana has not loaned Zimbabwe money. Instead, the government of Botswana will be providing a guarantee to commercial banks in Botswana willing to enable trade in Zimbabwe.

He encouraged Batswana to seize the opportunity for business that this arrangement will bring.
