A Twitter account named after Emmerson Mnangagwa’s spokesman, George Charamba on Thursday published an allegation that he has resigned.

The account is however not authentic, and it does not at all belong to the man, ZimEye reveals.

Further checks with the man himself revealed that it is not true.

The message however read: “I owe each of you the truth instead of the fake news. It is with a heavy heart that I handed in my resignation Munhumutapa buildings which H.E has graciously accepted. I have had the privilege of serving the great people this nation for a lifetime #asantesana #georgecharamba”
