A 62 year old man appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Franklin Mkwananzi for allegedly raping a 22 year old woman.
Bulawayo Tredgold Magistrate Court was left in stitches after Columbus Gangata of house number V-63 Mzilikazi suburb in Bulawayo who is facing rape charges denied the allegations citing that he did not last more than a minute in the sexual encounter and they had a monetary agreement with the complainant.
The court heard that on an unknown date in January this year, the complainant asked for water at the accused place of residence where the accused person forcibly grabbed the complainant into his bedroom and forcibly inserted his manhood once into the complainant.
Prosecuting, Mufaro Mageza told the court that after the act, the accused Gangata gave the complainant $RTGS10 as payment for the services rendered as per agreement.
However, the victim who only made a report three months after the alleged rape when she discovered that she was pregnant claims she was verbally threatened by the perpetrator.
Gangata was remanded in custody to the 2nd of April for continuation of trial.
