Own Correspondent|National Patriotic Front spokesperson Jealous Mawarire has made sensational claims that President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his government imported a contingent of Zambian witch doctors to sort out Gukurahundi spirits following him and some members of his party and government.

Criticising Mnangagwa for prioritising Gukurahundi victims re-burials over getting to the roots of the killings, Mawarire said Mnangagwa and his crew are attacked by the Gukurahundi spirits every night they go to bed forcing them to bring in the witch doctors.

According to Mawarire Mnagagwa’s failure to see priorities in dealing with the issue is because he is being tormented by the spirits.

Mnangagwa, his Deputy Constantino Chiwenga and his Agriculture Minister Perence Shiri are amongst the top government officials accused of directly being involved in executing the Gukurahundi atrocities that killed over 20 000 people in the Matabeleland region shortly after independence.

Mnangagwa announced recently that the government will assist Gukurahundi victims to get birth certificates and death certificates for their relatives who lost their lives during that era.

Former President Robert Mugabe who presided over the government that executed the atrocities described the period as a moment of madness and blocked any discussions on the issue during his reign.
