Jane Mlambo| Top constitutional lawyer Fadzayi Mahere has castigated government for its “reform agenda” saying the new Maintanance of Peace and Order bill which is replacing the draconian Public Order and Security Act (POSA) is just bent on limiting freedom and political space.

Posting on Twitter, Mahere said the new law does not point to genuine effort to change by the government.

“When all is said & done, there can be no doubt that the new POSA is the latest installment of fake reforms by our Govt which is hell bent on limiting freedom & political space. It’s not the sort of law that points towards a genuine effort to change,” said Mahere

She further described the whole move to replace POSA with a new law as a lost opportunity by the President Emmerson Mnangagwa administration.
