Letter to the Editor: Sigodo has done it again. People have been evicted like dogs at Turtle 54 mine at the hands of the deputy sheriff and the police who came armed to the tooth regardless of all the appeals the community has done. As a community member, l am shocked at what is happening here and we write this hoping the government will take notice of this and assist as we are a community with no funds, please help.

We write this as a community pleading with you to help our community so that our voices can be heard. We don’t have any irrigation schemes. Mining is our only source of livelihood and income, we don’t have any thing except this mine as our only source of income. Orphans,widows and our grand parents benefit from this. We write this with the hope that you will help us. Please help us.
