By Own Correspondent- The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) has chided the ruling political elites for their conspicuous consumption after it emerged that a ZANU PF official bought a Lamborghini worth US$210 000 from abroad.

In a statement, the labour body denounced the government’s austerity measures which only affect the downtrodden masses while the bigwigs live in opulence.

The ZCTU said:

“Austerity is definitely our misery and their prosperity.

We are not demanding luxuries but basic necessities, food, clothing, housing, decent jobs, decent salaries etc.”

Join the working class in fighting against such profligacy by. unconscionable conduct by the ruling class.”
